Academy Bank E Independence St, Springfield

I changed banks and went to Academy In 2019 because the rep said they were more convenient with flexible hours than the bank I had at the time (and have gone back to) and a few other things. Within a month the hours change to be EXACTLY the hours I worked so I was never able to go in besides my day off (if it happened to line up). I had rude employees on several occasions, they looked like I was a pain and a bother to them for making them work. When closing my account (and my fiance did as well), they didn't even care. My fiance has worked with banking, a standard question is why are you closing and the guy "helping" close the accounts didn't ask or looked like he cared. I have encouraged my friends and family to never bank here. Also, it's been 2 years and I am still getting emails and letters regarding the account and updates with the company and an updated card. So I dont even know if the rep even closed the accounts correctly.

Excellent customer service by Brandon and Christian. Came in needing a new bank account and even with short staff and a long line, they rock!!! Would definitely recommend 100 percent for a new account!!

My card was compromised. Online customer service was great. I was able to get a new card on same day at local branch. Danielle at Academy on Independence Walmart was helpful.

Stood in line for 5-10 minutes (with people behind me) and watched the only teller at the counter at 2 pm not doing a dang thing but flirt. Customer service is usually better than this, your employees are usually on top of everything but that one’s priorities were off majorly. Get a date on your own time not on the clock.

Brandon was really kind and helpful. My dad and I came in to set up a new savings and checking account, Brandon had good customer service, patient and eager to help us.

I original chose to bank here over a decade ago because the were open later and available 7 days a week. They have slowly become difficult to get to and the customer service is not good enough for me to continue my personal and business account needs. I am sorry to leave a 1 but you really let me down Academy.

I would give zero stars if I could. So they put my payroll check on a 5 day hold for no reason. It’s the same check I get every pay period, but my commission check was pushed through just fine. This bank is a joke. I am going out of town and need the funds, but there’s “nothing” they can do.

Waited 20 minutes for Quinton to come from the back room! Good think we weren't bank robbers. Leaving the counter unattended and customers waiting that long.

I love Academy Bank. My fiance and I have had 3 Accounts with them for going on 3 years and anytime we have had a problem arrise they have gone beyond my expectations to help and fix the issue! Ive yet to go to any branch that i was displeased with in the Springfield/Ozark area.
