I love Y12. The branch staffs are friendly and knowledgeable. They provide excellent service and financial products. The mobile app is awesome. The hours are better than any bank I have belonged to (but to be fair I haven't been a member of a bank in over 20 years). I cannot say enough good about my Y12. Lower fees, better service, great financial instruments. It's just great.

I appreciate that Y 12 kept their lobby open throughout the pandemic. I was on chemo and battling cancer and it was difficult for me to make appointments ahead of time since I never knew how I was going to feel and when I would feel well enough to run errands. The bathroom is very clean and easily accessible which was necessary for me when I was ill. The staff are friendly and have been very kind to me.

This morning I received a call back from Joseph Maples after submitting a loan application about four days ago. So first that’s a long time in the mortgage business to wait for a call back. Second when I told him this morning, very politely, I would be going with someone else he hung up on me as I was saying thank you and have a great day. Just hung up. Such poor customer service that I think I will talk to my family about pulling their business. They have been dissatisfied many times before with the service and I think this might compel them to go elsewhere. I am very curious as to how this business received 4.8 stars. Y-12 Federal Credit Union treats you like you are a cherished member of their community (which, technically, you are). While other credit unions act like banks, Y-12 remembers they are there to take care of our financial needs. Conscientious, thoughtful staff that follows through!

Branches and employee's at them are top notch. The higher ups leave alot to be desired. Have had problems with them and also heard of numerous others having issues. Would think twice about new folks doing business with them.

I have always had good service with Y12. They have always been responsive to anything that may arise. I mostly use mobile banking, but I do like being able to go into the bank when I need to. Always friendly. I still can't get use to wearing a mask inside any bank. That's about the only thing I think is so wrong.

This is a really good bank. However, they desperately need a way for customers to make contact with a person that can help after their normal business hours. It really is not fun waking up and your card being locked.

Y-12 FCU watches out for its members. I have an unfortunate combination of complex financials and a forgetful mind. There have been several times when I've double-paid for one car and ignored the other only to have a Y-12 agent give me a call to clear it up before it is a problem .

The best bank in the states!!! The customer service is far superior. Kind, professional, patient with a genuine concern for their customers. I thank my Lord for showing me this institution as I am over 65 now and there have been so many changes in this world it can be nerve racking to say the least but I know I am safe and cared for with Y12.

Very crooked and dishonest credit union. They falsely report inaccurate things to the credit bureaus and then when you call for them to fix it, they say that you have to dispute it through the bureaus. Knowing that it will take another 30 days to resolve.

A Vanilla Credit Union, Lower fee structure, regular services provided by any financial institution. Not a financial partner. I have a variable rate mortgage with no offer to convert to a fixed rate when interest rates were lower. A couple of high interest loans that don't help my financial life. I have better rates from other institutions. Leaving to go to another financial institution that offers better services and rates as soon as possible. Not a bad CU just ordinary.

My Debit card had been compromised so I called immediately and the girl locked usage and advised me to GI to my local branch for a new card. I did go to my local branch and the teller was extremely helpful. She ask for my driver license to confirm my identity, reviewed transactions and supplied me with a replacement card all before wishing me a great day!!! Problem solved. Thank you Roane Branch.

Used to be great, but now they use predatory practices to "tax" their poorest customers. If you are a great customer that hasn't bounced a transaction in decades, but don't move enough money through your account for their liking, you now are charged a monthly fee. No longer do they offer free checking accounts & if you had one, you were converted without warning, at least in my case.

For 25 years I've been banking with Y-12 Credit Union now! I am totally happy with the great response from the staff that I contact occasionally for help with my VISA card or changing email address or monthly statement history. Y-12 has excellent customer service and a very user friendly website and phone app. The phone app is great for depositing checks online from home with only a couple of photos of the check! This has been a real gas and time saver! The Y-12 Visa card has CASH BACK and no fee! The Y-12 overdraft protection has really saved us many times. Y-12's Online Bill Pay is super easy to set up too! And the best part of all is that Y-12 Credit Union services are all FREE since each member is a shareholder unlike the privately owned banks which charge a fee for everything so that the bank owner profits.

Truthfully the best bank I've ever dealt with. Always kind and courteous, as well as fast and efficient. I've never had a problem with any of my accounts, nor I foresee any problems in the future. I've never felt more welcomed and taken care of at another institution.

Communication was left wanting and certainly lacking from the lending department. I had to reach out multiple times for information on my Helock loan progress and status. As a realtor doing a personal loan, I would have thought there would have been more contact, but they seem quite busy or otherwise occupied. I finally added in the department manager for all correspondence. I will say Sophie, the notary for the closing was wonderful and quite helpful. Note the Loan Officer was in the building, but didn't take the time to even come meet or introduce herself as she works from home still. Again was in the building for a call. I wouldn't recommend them to my clients at this moment if it were a timely issue or communications weren't improved.

From all the other credit union banks locally I use, Y-12 has been the most user friendly. I have never had a problem, and would recommend them to anyone looking for a bank to use.

I love the mobile app. I love being able to deposit my checks through the app. It's super efficient and user friendly. Everyone at Y-12 is friendly and helpful.They called me within two weeks of opening my account to refinance one of my loans. I was just switching banks but it was an awesome perk! Took me from a 17% interest rate to 4.9%. I've been extremely satisfied with Y-12 so far. I'm glad I made the decision to open an account.

I've been banking since I moved to Oak Ridge in 2008. While tellers have moved up in positions or simply moved on over the years, I've always has excellent interactions with each one. Since PTMs became available, this "extended" hours capability has been amazingly useful both whenever I've lost track of the hour and if I was in a meeting that ran longer than the bank's regular in-house operating hours. That's about it.

I've been banking at this credit union for over 15 years. Every employee I've encountered has been cheerful and helpful. The personal tellers are great and I love the ease of use of the mobile app. I recommend Y12 to all my friends and family. There is nothing not to like!

I only use Y-12 for my boat loan. Terms and help with the loan were good. My challenge is that I have to physically deposit a check due to their inability to apply payment from my other bank properly. 2 times in a row, the payment could not be properly applied (after consulting with Y-12 specifically about it) and the funds are delayed in returning to my other account. Also, the on-line bill payer app was NOT good when I tried it 3 years ago. That is why I had to go with another institution to make my payments on the boat. If that is better, I would rate them higher. I just don't want the frustration of risking it again.

I manage my Dad's account for him. About a year ago I upgraded his checking to high yield checking at the great suggestion of a customer service rep. The interest dividend was very good. However Y12 FCU completely changed the dividend structure, reducing the monthly dividend by half as of June 1st 2021. I did not like this at all! Everything else if fine.

I have been a member since approx. 2004. I have had 2 auto loans with Y12 even though I now live in S FL. They still have maintained the friendly attitude that I miss from TN. Having video conference features now helped a lot with my financial needs. I feel like a valued member at Y12, not just a number, which is the case with many larger banks. All of my experiences with Y12 have been awesome.

What a great experience!! I applied for a checking account and a loan on a Saturday and I received a call back Tuesday morning with great news that literally changed my life. Probably would have heard from them Monday but it was a holiday. Ashley was great, very knowledgeable about all services Y-12 has to offer and based on my needs she hooked me up with the best service to fit my needs. This 5-star review has more to do with one particular employee, Sharon Coleman, than with this particular bank location as a whole. My wife and I are new to Y12 FCU, so although we are very pleased so far, the jury is still out on this particular bank location because we simply have not had the opportunity to experience enough of their services to provide a reliable rating. On Monday, after sending a thank you card to Sharon at her workplace, I attempted to reach her supervisor or manager or other bank officer over her to commend Sharon to them, but after leaving a message with the call-taker who attempted to reach that person, I never received a call back, so I am leaving my review here instead. We met Sharon last week when we switched banks from Regions to Y12. She did the usual thing of helping us to set up our accounts, but it didn't stop there. Over the next few days, she continued to work on her own, without any pressure or nudging from me, to set up various accounts that we had requested and to prepare our credit application and so much more. She stayed on top of everything, and I didn't have to reach out to her for any updates, for she was reaching out to me. The communication was excellent, and the care she showed for our banking experience was unsurpassed. She went above and beyond what one would expect from a banker when joining a new bank, and it made the transition from the other bank so much easier and less stressful than it would have been otherwise. Making a bank switch can initially result in some "cold feet", but her actions alleviated most of that and now we are thrilled to be at Y-12. So, I want to tell the Y12 management, especially those at the Oak Ridge headquarters, and the local community what a great representative of the bank this Sharon Coleman is, and I sincerely hope that she continues to rise within the company, for she is outstanding and her services are exceptional. UPDATE: After I left this review this morning, a Jennifer, who is an assistant manager at Y12 FCU in Oak Ridge, reached out to me this afternoon regarding my review, saying she had seen it. She also praised Sharon and encouraged me to call again if I have any questions or concerns about anything while banking at Y12.

When I transferred my account from Home Federal to Y-12, I sometimes have difficulty adjusting to the new way you do the bank statements. Home Federal sent me a statement covering the entire month. I could figure the outstanding checks as well as the ATM transactions. At Y-12, I have to go into the branch and have teller print a hard copy of transactions from the first of the new month to present date and then give me a balance after I check my transactions with statement & checkbook. This is a little difficult and takes some adjustment on my part.

I have been with this bank for several months and they are fantastic. I also loved how they can make your debit card at the bank(no waiting for it to come in the mail). There are very few fees depending on what account you open. You won't be disappointed banking here.

Was really disappointed when The Harden Valley Rd branch went fully automated. It was my favorite. But There is another branch fairly close that is still maned by people. I guess it's now my favorite. Banking is good and account security is good.

Only giving a 4 star rating because you can always do better, but I was blown away with how helpful the employees were. Debra (I believe her name was) made the process of creating an account so easy even when I threw multiple curveballs her way. I also talked to a young man to clear up a simple question and the wait time was very limited and he did a great job explaining the solution so I could understand it. Again, I was blown away.
