We have used Witmer Wood for the past 12 years in two different states and never had an issue with this firm. I am a Lutheran pastor and they understand the various exemptions and IRS rules for clergy, provide all of the documentation that I need for clergy taxes and they have saved us a bunch of money. When I've had a question they have responded promptly. Their price is fair compared to the other tax firm we used prior to Witmer Wood. We've referred other pastors to them and they've been very happy with this firm.

It never ceases to amaze me how some people think they know more than the pros with years of training and experience, yet they cannot prepare their own tax return. If they know so much, why don't they prepare their own? Part of the problem is many people read information on the IRS website, or another source, then stop reading when they get the answer they think they want. The correct answer only comes after fully researching the subject. As a former, now retired, associate of Witmer Wood Tax I can say that WWTC does not charge in advance, and will not complete a return without complete and accurate information. A professional will only sign a tax return that he or she knows is complete and accurate.

These people get NO STARS. They know NOTHING about the Exemptions and after I sent them documentation FROM THE IRS, they said that it wasn't in action. That it was done this year by the current president. However the document was from February 1, 2013. They told me "this comes from the IRS" and I told them that "the document is from the IRS". They continued to deny that the exemption exists, even after I sent them the exemption list from the IRS WEBSITE. A .GOV website. Yet they STILL wanted to deny it. I believe they don't want to admit they were wrong. DO NOT have your taxes done here. They don't know what they are doing and they are ripping people off. They will NEVER admit when they are WRONG. They even told me they would "look into it", only 20 minutes later they called me. You didn't look into my taxes in 20 minutes with an office full of people. That's not accurate. So, they lost my business. After going to them for years, they lost me. Not that they care because they have 'fresh out of college' kids working there as CPAs.

We've used this firm since 1996. My husband is a minister and this firm is great with issues related to ministerial taxes. I would highly recommend this firm.

Made a 400 dollar error which I caught and made them check my return over and they found the mistake they made and corrected it.

It's so sad that most of the people who write reviews are just angry because they didn't get what they wanted. We've been getting our taxes done with Witmer Wood since 2009, and I don't believe that there is a better tax preparation service in the country. Every return they file is accurate, and legal, and when they rarely make a mistake, they aren't afraid to admit it. If you don't get the return you wanted, it's because you aren't entitled to it. Witmer Wood is absolutely the best, and at half the cost of what you pay almost anywhere else.

I was referred to Witmer Wood by my parents who have been with the company for over 15 years before it was taken over by another CPA. My experience was terrible to say the least. I payed over $700 upfront but my return was not completed by the by the 4/15 deadline even though I handed everything in a month prior. I was told that an extension would be filed (which it was thankfully) and that I would hear back from Witmer Wood by the beginning of May. I heard nothing from them and so I contacted them every 2-3 weeks asking for an update or appointment and was told every time "Juile, will contact you within 2 weeks" and every time two weeks would come and go and I would hear nothing from them. It is now July and I have resorted to threatening legal action if someone doesn't at the very least get back to me and respond with an honest answer about when I can expect my return. I made one final call and was told by Julie, the CPA there, that they would not be able to complete my return and would issue me a refund. I am amazed at the lack of professional nature of this experience. I would strongly recommend not using their services.

We have used Witmer Wood Tax services for over 25 years starting with Karen Witmer. We highly recommend them. They are professional and know the current laws.

Have used them for my taxes for a few years now. Never had a problem, and they’ve been fairly responsive to my questions.
