Wells Fargo Bank Ocean Park Blvd, Santa Monica

I went to deposit a buch of Euros I brought back from my trip to Paris. They gave the worst possible change rate AND charged me an additional 5%! It's the last time they see me at a wells Fargo branch to change money.

Been going here for years, the people here make you feel special and that they appreciate your business. If you have have direct paycheck deposit you can avoid fees. Also if you have a PMA account you get 100 free trades. Just don't withdraw money from a non wellsfargo ATM where you'll be double charged withdrawal fees, once from the ATM and once from wellsfargo. Also they will sit down and talk to your teen about responsible banking when they open up a teen checking account, which I did before my daughter went off to college. Also the free coffee is a nice touch.

I hate writing a negative review but my experience today was pretty awful. My employer pays me with a Wells Fargo check and I took it into this branch to cash it as I have the last 4 times. Usually, it isn't so bad, I get the typical open-up-an-account-with-us sales pitch which gets annoying but this time it was pretty bad. First, they had to pull me aside, in front of the other customers to a private desk to tell me they wouldn't cash the check until they called my employer, (was it the shirt I was wearing?). My employer is a GIANT company, good luck getting on the phone with CFO and checking on 1 check they write out of 100's of 1000's. Second, as the lady was telling me that everyone else who had cashed my check at their bank in the past shouldn't have helped me, she asks me SEVERAL times, almost like a nervous tick, for me to open up an account with them, (I think her boss is beating the pitch into her or something, it didn't look healthy). Again, she tells me she doesn't trust the check I am bringing in, thinks I am doing something mischievous by cashing a check, but she'd love to have me as a customer... So, I drove to another Wells Fargo, they cashed it no problem, even offered me a coffee, treated me like a fellow human being! The managers and whatever the position the door guy is at this location, need to figure their job out, I am sure their corporate parents would be pretty disappointed. Side note, because I do feel bad writing this - the people at the windows are usually super nice, they just need new bosses. Info: visited @ 9:15AM 7/17/2013
