We had the absolute PLEASURE of working with Rosie Ochoa to help me find my first home in Austin! Rosie went above and beyond to answer any and all (and I mean ALL) of my questions. As a first-time homeowner, she made the process so straightforward and was so transparent every step of the way. She broke everything out so it was digestible and easy to understand, and even gave me amazing recommendations on everything, from the loan vendors to local shops, etc - she always pointed me in the best direction and made sure I knew every option. I never felt forced into anything, instead, I left the process with such a vault of knowledge that I couldn't be happier about. Not to mention, she worked tirelessly to line up the perfect options of homes to see - ultimately landing the first home we saw!! I couldn't recommend working with the Strub group enough. The communication was flawless and the team is beyond exceptional.

10/5 update in response to owner's reply. I am well aware that questions were presented to your underwriting team. However, just like the time before the loan officer failed to follow up with me and I had to call multiple times to get an answer. During that conversation the loan officer's lack of enthusiasm combined with their previous lack of follow up made it clear to me that I would have better results working with a lender that wanted my business. What I wrote was an honest review of my experience. I did not say people shouldn't use you. I said my experience wasn't good either time I worked with you and that those who had more difficult circumstances might want to go with someone else. Original Review: I refinanced through this company a couple of years back. I was constantly having to call and verify what items were needed, if items were received, what the status of the loan was . I tried them again recently for the purchase of a new home. Same bad service. My situation is trickier than most and maybe they work a lot better with people who have very easy loans to handle but my experience with them was not good and I ended up telling her that I didn't need her help. I am currently working on buying my third home. I understand the process can be long and difficult so make sure you have someone who's really willing to work hard for you.

As a realtor it’s so important to work alongside a lender who really knows the ins and outs of financing, add to that a caring, compassionate bedside manner and you’ve got Russ Laing. He thinks outside the box and has a whatever it takes attitude to get you to the closing table. He is also very communicative and always willing to educate and guide you through the lending process. Russ and his team were amazing! The team at Vista Lending recently helped me refinance my home mortgage. Vista lending was referred to me by the realtor who helped me purchase my home. In the process I visited with a number of lenders. This team was both highly competitive with the rates and structured the loan and closing in a way that really fit our needs. Throughout the process they were very accessible and easy to work with. Moreover, I felt that they were great about answering my questions and respectful of my choices and timeline. It was about the right choice not just closing a deal as quickly as possible.

My experience with Vista Lending when recently purchasing my first home was really great. The folks there are professional, organized and friendly. Sonya Valia is as good as it gets. She was so on top of everything that needed to be done, explained all concepts and complex processes quickly and thoroughly (and given it was my first house buying process I had lots of questions), got back to me in seconds to minutes (literally!) every time I tried to reach her and was just so fun to work with and talk to.
