Vinton County National Bank W Main St, Mcarthur

Unfortunately have to close my account. Everything about this bank is good, except they order the junkiest cards from mastercard and they don't give you an option to upgrade. Every 2 months I have to update my payment info because my debit card peels apart. I have a chase card with a metal insert that has lasted a full 4 years. I don't know why they cheap out on the cards.

I have been dealing with this bank for about 18 years. They are honest and helpful. I've had 3 home loans through them. As a smaller bank they don't have as many perks but I've had quick service and helpful people when there have been issues. They explain things thoroughly, if you listen. The closest branch is now 30 miles away but I have no plans to change.

Froze my debit card. I am a truck driver and I have announced this several times and frequently use my card out of state. Thanks a hell of a lot for nothing and leaving me stranded until Monday. I should bill you for my troubles. My account will be closed as soon as I get back in. EDIT. After calling fraud three times to get my card working it still does not work even though fraud said it was good to go. I was advised to try an ATM by VNCB VIA FB Messenger. I did that and the ATM work however my card still don't work to make purchases. I am going Monday morning to sign papers for a new truck and this bank could not even tell me they would reimburse me for 1/2 my cab fare. I mean after all Uber and Lyft is far cheaper and the cab will be about double. So I was told they could guarantee the fee refund for the ATM but no cab reimbursement. If you are thinking of going to this bank please check around at the bigger banks. I had this problem with Capital One 360 one time and they fixed it in 10 minutes on a Sunday night. This bank cant fix anything on the weekends or after hours it appears. So do yourself a favor and run, do not walk away from Vinton County National Bank, or its branches..

This bank has the best interest of their customers in mind. They are convenient and friendly. Not only that, but they have a great mobile banking app.

They keep telling my creditors that my loan has increased as if I had missed payments but in fact I pay early. They also have a problem calculating my credit score. Email sent this morning….again

Purchased a home thru vinton county national bank on a home/ rehab loan they have been working on it for about a year now and still havent got it done. Took 6 months to close on the house and has been another 6 months and they havent closed on the construction part of it. Told them the home needed a new roof and other repairs from the beginning and here it is about a year later with it still leaking and ruining the roof sheeting, insulation and flooring and costing me more money out of my pocket while still waiting on the bank to get things done. First time home buyer and pretty disappointed, multiple calls to the main office to try to get things resolved with no luck. I'm right at $7,000 out of my pocket and not including the 7 house payments that have been made and still not able to live in my new to me home. Best advice I can give is to go spend your money elsewhere! I have got nothing but the run around from the start.
