Veterans United Home are Exceptional and I am so proud. That I have 1st hand on how they efficiently worked. To assist me in getting into my New Build Condo in Burton MI. They approved a Condo, in some cases are hard to get done. Veterans United did it without any problems.. This company is GOOD at what they do.

The entire Veterans United team kept everything organized and on track so we could finally have a beautiful home of our own. Apparently they are so tied in with the VA its a click of the button. Then you get a team of people, not one person but a team and each is a specialist. The website is very very good .. uploading the docs needed was a breeze. I can't think of one thing they could have done better.

Veterans United helped me with a refinance and a home purchase in less than 6 months...in 2 different states. They were well informed, professional and I felt like a person not a number. I highly recommend Veterans United to all veterans looking for support in buying or refinancing.

I'm sure there are good departments and SOME good people in this company. HOWEVER, leadership is not good, in some cases, at all. They have these core values they preach at you every day yet they do not follow through on those values with employees. Be passionate and enhance lives specifically, those are preached at you every minute of every day, yet MANY people fail to deliver on those specific values and it's sad. As someone who got fired for "taking too many mental health days" is ridiculous and not very passionate of VU. Mental health is a thing, it's around everywhere, we are going through a pandemic. They do not take it seriously. It seems if you are not self righteous, this is not the place for you. They only let the people thrive who are like them, if you have one different thought, they throw you out immediately and that is NOT how you run a company, especially one that says they take good care of the people who work for them. I am for sure not the only former employee who has these thoughts. Leadership definitely needs work. Practice what you preach. We are real people.

Everything was great besides dealing with the insurance part. They only gave me one insurance company to choose from so I asked about another company since I was told they could compare others that I knew of also, but the woman I delt with wouldn't. If I wanted to compare any other insurance companies I had to try and provide the companies with all the information they needed to the best of my knowledge and get my own quotes and compare them myself. But like I said that was the only bad part everything else was great.

To Whom It May Concern: We were renting our house for over 7 years and when the Landlord was ready to sell the property that's when we decided that we really wanted to stay and try to purchase the house. Jeff had served in the US Army, active duty, and Army Reserves. We discussed using his VA Loan benefit and decided to contact a lender who handled VA Loans exclusively. Friends, fellow Veterans, had recommended Veterans United to us. Once we reached out to our loan specialist, Levi Brugger, he gave us a call and began the application process. We received our pre-approval letter within a week and began the inspection process. Once the Appraisal was completed and documents were easily uploaded to our Veterans United portal. Our loan was sent to Underwriting which required additional information. Employment was verified and then we were clear to close. Closing was handled by a local Title Company, and our Closing documentation was sent by DocuSign to our Veterans United Portal. Levi was very quick to respond to all of our questions or concerns, and we would highly recommend him to our family or friends who have served our Country! Would you like to be pre approved one month then fully approved the next month only to find out days before closing that they made a mistake on their end so you are denied even though you’ve already cancelled your lease and then they forward your mail for you to the address they denied you for weeks after denying you? Literally the worst! They set us up with a real estate agent that would only let us meet her husband and ignored us most of the two months we were looking for a house.

Absolutely awful service… very disappointed Started out great… helpful and friendly phone calls, upbeat attitudes, and reassurance that we would find our home soon and move in. And we did! Now, I’m a veteran and first time home buyer, so being told that the process takes 2 months(to close) seemed very inefficient to me, but I’m use to the hurry up and wait situations. During the 2 months, we have been back and forth with our realator, the loan officer, the underwriter, back to the loan officer, then to liaison, appraiser, then inspector, and so forth. The trouble began 1 week before the first date given that we close(which shouldn’t be happening when you have 2 months prior to get it together!!!) they need the same constant paperwork over and over, or they were having some sort of internal communication issue. I was given every excuse in the book(Covid, lost it, never came through, she has to look at it first, lost it again, “well that’s not my job”, loan officer on vacation, loan officer stepping down from his position, ect… I am now on my 3rd rescheduling of my closing date!!!!!!!!!!!! My entire house is packed, my wife and our 4 year old are living out of a suitcase, ramen noodles and fast food!!!!!! My current house is already sold and buyers are pestering us to move out!!!!! I have taken off time from work to be able to move and have rented a u-hall truck twice now. They are calling us at 8-9pm at night the day prior to closing day to inform us that something else is wrong… this is sad especially for a company to treat veterans like this.

He was highly responsive, both via phone and email, and would always follow up and remind me of paperwork that needed to be complete. Veterans United pre-approved us for $150,000. We put in an offer on a house, and it was accepted. A few days into the closing process, Veterans United sends us a text message that they won’t be moving forward with us. They didn’t take into account a prior bankruptcy, and so pulled out of the deal. My wife and I were crushed. To add insult to injury, they just sent us an email expressing that *WE* decided not to buy a home, and that’s why the deal was canceled. Their lack of attention to detail and callous email will ensure we take our future business elsewhere.

Our loan specialist at Veterans United was great and answered our questions about each item on the closing disclosure. He made sure everything looked right and enabled my confidence going into closing. He was available at closing to help correct issues in the final CD from the title company.

Getting a VA Loan through Veterans United was the best decision we have ever made. The entire team was right on point and at all times kept us in the loop.

Horrible dragged out experience, house had already been sold and I asked for $12,500 increase on the current loan and got told I couldn't. Went with a regular mortgage company and instantly got approved for what I needed to buy a different house. They're not here for us veterans at all, steer clear of this company and save yourself some time and money.

If you come prepared with your documents this will be a stemless process. Put in a home offer on 10/12 and closed on 11/15 without any huge hiccups. Veterans United made a first time homebuyer not have to go through the “home buying stress”. They delivered as promised and the communication aspect was spectacular

Upping the stars after my knee jerk one star drop: sorry about that. They're actually an up front average lender with good customer service. However, I do suggest you call instead of using their online resources, (if you have a suspicious nature). Nobody wants a "hardball close" and they're not like that at all. They're actually very pleasant and professional. Very good listeners. They really want to give good service.

Travis and his team worked with me for over 11 months to help me find my home and get it purchased. The biggest help was Veterans United pairing me with Pedro Carrizales to be my boots on the ground Realtor. Him and Travis helped me to make over 12 offers on homes during this crazy market we are in. We traveled and looked at numerous homes and had to make tweaks to offers and get new preapproval letters as we went along. Finally, we found a builder and was able to secure a lot and a floor pan that worked. It was a long road, but their communication and advice made it all easier to accomplish. It was me and my family first time purchasing a home and it went smooth. Everyone answered our questions and responded in an timely manner. My loan officer checked in with me often and the Courtney Bolte always looked out for our best interest. She kept me updated with the process and helped find resources in the state so we wouldn't have to search for anything. She went out her way to help and did an excellent job.

We would recommend Veterans United to anyone looking for a home. The process was simple and very easy to do. The portal website was simple to understand. My loan team Danny and Markita were awesome. We're happy to be moving into our new home today June 17. Think the whole process from looking at houses to the final closing was about 60 days.

Full disclaimer this is a very mixed review. At the start of the project through the physical closing Veterans United was great. However, in post closing we were told that our concierge rep would reach out 2 weeks before our first mortgage payment was due and walk us through the payment process and get that all setup. However, we never got a call. We what got was a letter saying that Veterans United was selling our mortgage to someone else. In our Case it was Mr. Copper (odd name I know.) I thought we were being scammed until I checked the Veterans United Website and found they had infact sold our Mortgage. We hadn't even made one payment yet. I reached out to Mr. Copper and they couldnt help us yet. Saying our transfer was still beign processed on there end. The customer service was terrible and we are now only a few days away from our payment being due and still have no way to make our payment. I researched Mr. Copper and they have a B- rating with the BBB and are known for bad customer service. I have reached out to a few other military families that have very recently used Veterans united and 3 out of the 4 have confirmed that Veterans United Sold there Mortgage. We all got sold to different mortgage houses. For this point alone I would not recommend Veterans United for a VA loan. If I could go back I would have used a local mortgage broaker with experience in VA Loans to help us through the process. Also, i recently reread our contract with Veterans United and it does call out that they reserve the right to sell the loan.

I would definitely recommend Veterans United, If you want a stress free smooth process with amazing people! We never wondered where we were at in the process or what was going on! They kept us informed at all times.

Very disappointed. I thought I would have a mortgage serviced by a company that cares about vets. They sold my loan to a California (socialist USA) company within a week of closing. Now, with property tax payment issues 4 months later I am getting the "you need to call them" run around between the current financer, Veterans United and the closing company. Ridiculous.

Before speaking with Veterans United I was speaking with some local lenders and they didn’t ask questions like for example about VA disability payments and how they can be used to your advantage in a VA loan and didn’t seem very knowledgeable. Our loan representative was very enthusiastic in getting us pre-approval for a home loan, but as soon as we were ready to put in an offer and had questions, we were unable to contact anyone on our loan team. We even called customer service and was told our team would be contacted for an urgent response. The next communication we received was an email days later to tell us that our file had been closed. Veterans United left us high and dry when we needed them the most and we almost didn't get the house we wanted while we applied with another lender in the fast paced market in our area. Wouldn't recommend to anyone. Would give ZERO stars if it was an option.

Before starting my application, I read alot of reviews and I came to the conclusion that everyones situation is different and I should just try. I am glad I did. I applied and the same day I received a call from my loan officer Brian. I explained my situation, told him I knew it would be tough but he stated they could get it done and get me into my home. My application to closing took 2 months and in between that time frame, Brian and Merideth of my home loan team were incredible. They made me feel like I was the only customer and my loan was their number 1 priority. They answered so many questions, responded quickly and always kept things on track. During the process, I had other finance companies calling asking if I wanted to use there services but because Brian and Meredith were so awesome, I stuck with veterans united. I never thought in my situation I would own a home but veterans united got it done. My family greatly appreciates the hard work of Brian and Meredith and the veterans united team. We will be forever grateful. I have absolutely no complaints. The online tools, uploading documents, signing, reviewing, everything was just easy. Represented a buyer's agent in a deal with Veterans United as the lender. Absolutely the worst experience I've had working with a lender. The loan officer rarely answered the phone, and stopped replying via text when the questions became difficult. The loan officer told us the loan was terminating the day after our earnest money became non-refundable. He had this information days before and did not bother telling anyone until it was too late. When I asked him about it, he told me he didn't share the information with me because he was protecting his buyer's privacy, which is a ridiculous answer. When I told him the 15,000 in earnest money was now at risk, he didn't even respond or acknowledge that he messed up. Overall the company took no sympathy on this buyer despite the lack of communication on their part. The title company shared my sentiment, and was constantly wondering what was going on with the loan because neither he nor his assistant bothered to reply when something was needed. I will never recommend this company for a buyer, and as a listing agent I will not work with interested buyers using Veterans United.

Loan officer has been non existent the entire process, took weeks to get ahold of him for a question that ultimately he spent a whole 25 seconds explaining and then hung up. While the realtors do their best, everyone else has been non existent and this is disappointing. It’s been 2 months since anyone has responded to anything so I’m just wasting my time. Friends recommended them to me, was excited to be buying my first house and this has given me such a bad taste.

I contacted another mortgage lender 2 days before contacting them and was told to clear 5 grand in debt and to contact them 3 months after I did. Our first mortgage was through USAA, who immediately transferred it to US Bank. I was not impressed with that process, however, this time I was recommended Veterans United by a friend and when I compared current rates, Veterans United was much better than other companies. I began the process, and everything was done virtually, from start to finish (minus closing, we moved and were in place for that) it was very smooth and easily done. Very happy overall and would recommend to friends/family!

I just closed on a home in a very hot market in a St. Petersburg FL beach town. I was very lucky that the buyer would accept a contract contingent upon VA financing in a market where all cash offers and bidding wars are common. I was pre-approved with one of the largest mortgage companies in the country and they let me down because they did not have time to deal with one of the VA bureaucratic obstacles. We had to close this loan on time or the buyer could have easily switched to a back up cash offer and I would have lost the deal. I went to Veterans United, the VA loan experts, having already lost 5 days toward closing.
