US bank is the worst bank I have ever had The displeasure of banking with. I had heard stories and was told not to bank with them, but did it anyway. Big mistake. They will charge you fees, like a monthly maintenance fee and overage charges even though you told them you did not want your account to be able to overcharge or overdraft. I did not want or need that. If you go into the negatives, they will close your account down without even contacting you. And your account will go to collections. At least it did with me. Now I owe some agency $208. This bank did not even give me a warning or a notice “hey we are closing your account. No. They will do it anyway. Horrible bank branch. At least this one in Bolivar MO. It’s no wonder most it’s reviews are 1 star. They helped me here and there, it was going good until they did this. Really ? No phone call ? Just close my account. Big middle finger.

The local branch is small, so I understand that they wouldn’t hire a lot of staff. However, the customer service is the absolute worst I have ever encountered. I can’t get anyone to answer the phone. I’ve waited anywhere from 10-30 minutes to ask if they’ve opened the lobby. (Last time I checked, the lobby was closed, although website still says they close at 2). TWO o’clock! Complicating things further is the drive-thru. Each lane is normally 4-5 cars deep (at least). I have waited a minimum of 30 minutes every single time (I go once a month) to make a single check deposit. Not only is the wait time ridiculous, the tellers drill you with questions about their banking app and all the ways you can avoid being in their drive-thru. Also, if you’re unfortunate enough to go anywhere within an hour of their closing time, they put up cones and refuse to serve anyone beyond the cones. I was even accused on one occasion of moving their precious cones, which I did not. My impression is this. They DO NOT want you. Oh, they want your money. Not you, the customer. They certainly do not want to provide any kind of customer service. I think the one star I’m giving this bank is GENEROUS.

5 cars at this bank on Wednesday, June 24, 2021 at 2:59 pm and it’s still slower than molasses. AND….I’m on hold…on the phone…for over 4 minutes. You’d think there would be someone to answer the call with 5 cars parked in the parking lot. This bank is too small for this community. Ugh!!! 😡😡😡 Update: I am still on hold with US Bank. Been sitting in the same spot for 17 minutes. They must’ve forgotten about the customer at the window…finally at the window (3:17 pm). By that time, we were at the window. They got young gals in there…of course they don’t know my mom…who’s been banking there since 1996!!!! US BANK….HIRE MORE STAFF AND HAVE REGULAR BAKN HOURS LIKE EVERYONE ELSE!!!!

I had someone put a charge on my debit account. I was taken care of at the counter by a lovely lady. She got me a new card # and got the other one locked. She got me a temporary card and ordered me a new permanent card. Very professional and polite. Thank you.

Not just "Bolivar" branch in particular (I live in Buffalo where they have closed), US bank has gone down the toilet. Closed so many locations its awful to try to do anything at thier overcrowded open ones. Line always backed to the road and lobby closed. They put out a new ATM in town to try to compensate...went there today and it wont even take deposits. I use the app for everything I can but unfortunately an app can't take cash.

This bank always holds me up no matter what day/time I come. Again today, frustrated with the service, removed most of the funds from my account but decided to give it another chance so w/d 5k from another account, came thru drive thru, put 5k cash, ck for $80 my debt card and my ID to make the deposit, when finally got service from the teller (only 1 car in front of me) first thing asked "was I on the account"? So far I am not impressed and having 2nd thoughts as to rather I should have deposited the funds. This is a small town, but even if a teller does not recognize it's customers, if an ID is provided, at least look up the account to see if person making the deposit us on the account. Small towns do expect more personalized behavior but I understand COVID probably interfered with some personalized service, but soon that can no longer be the excuse for the lack of speed and knowing the customers or at least checking the account first to see. The speed of the drive thru service could be remedied if just some thought was put into it. It is not my intention to be rude, just to get the attention that this local Bolivar bank has a lot of complaints from its towns people and hoping that some effort is put toward making it better. I frequent this bank (and the one in buffalo before it closed) often to cash checks from my dad bc he banks here. I do not have an account with them and apparently that calls for prejudice when I visit. They are constantly giving false information or changing their “policies”. I have been lied to and argued with by the employees at multiple locations. I used to be able to cash my check for free if my mom/dad was with me but once the tellers noticed us coming in to do this they quickly changed that rule and now I have to pay 7$ each time I cash a check. I understand charging a small fee since I do not have an account with them. But I think 7$ is absolutely outrageous for them to give me my money, that my dad has authorized to me. I have been to other banks that don’t charge a fee at all for check cashing without an account.

This branch has been nothing but polite and helpful for anything that I have ever needed. I get the one on one attention overtime I go in there and they all know my name. I am very happy with US Bank and this branch.
