A friend recommended Tower to me for their low rates. I am beyond disappointed with my sort experience with Tower. Applied for a car loan as they seem to have great rates. All downhill from there and they have no idea how to conduct business, they literally have no idea what they are doing in terms of due diligence and Know Your Customer. I took my business to Navy Federal who had me all set up with check in hand in literally less than one hour, applied online and picked up the check from Navy Fed branch 45 mins later. Don't let the low rates fool you Tower will be a nightmare.

Don't do any business with this "credit union". You will regret it. I promise you. They will scam money out of you. Under the guise of fees. Simply because there websites not working, so you call the pay to consistently pay 9$ fee again and again. Nah. Save your time. Bank or finance elsewhere. The lower interest rate they try to persuade you with is not worth it. Not to mention the customer service will make you want to put your head through a wall.

Over the years the customer service has drastically dropped. After being a member for over 25 years I have decided to withdraw my funds and go to Navy Federal Credit Union where they appreciate their customers. These last 3 years has been a total headache when it comes to the basic transactions with TFCU. I definitely would not refer anyone to them.

What once was a 5 star institution has now become a terrible place to bank. The Laurel location for the most part is horrible. Maybe if someone would read the reviews left, a change for the better would occur!

Tower is super easy. Don't know why other people have had issues with online banking through them, but mine always works well. I've done car loans, credit cards, mortgages, a line of credit - easy to pay for all of those. Staff is friendly over the phone and in person. I will continue to use them and recommend them as a fair and easy to use credit union.

We got our mortgage through Tower. Although the people we worked with were kind, they sent us a Loan Estimate with the incorrect loan amount (then insisted on adding points to keep our interest rate after we flagged the error); sent a conditional approval letter with the wrong loan amount; took ages to complete tasks then sent last-minute requests that could have been completed without a fire drill had the requests been timely; made other errors throughout the process; and generally made the process much more stressful than it needed to be. I got the sense that the people dealing with the mortgage loans are overworked and spread too thin. To be clear, I am giving 2 stars instead of 1 because the folks we dealt with were friendly and responsive. But there were far too many mistakes and slip ups. The rate is amazing but I wouldn’t recommend Tower. Edit: the day of closing, the sellers agreed to give us a $300 credit because a ceiling fan wasn’t working. This is very common for purchase transactions and would not trigger a new three day waiting period. But Tower would not allow this change to the closing disclosure and insisted that the funds be provided outside of closing. Just one more way they are unnecessarily difficult to work with and make the process unpleasant for their members. I am dropping from 2 stars to 1 due to this unfortunate and unnecessary hassle.

Had my car refinanced from Capital One to Tower FCU. While I was pleased with the price, Towers Customer Service is awful. They never want to do anything over the phone but refer you to the website and then you can't do anything on the site except print out a form which needs to be mailed in. They need to get with the times and get computerized. Im sick of these people and I am looking for a new lender starting today. The old saying is true, you really do get what you pay for.

I had my car loan with them for years, and was pleased, no real complaints with my loan orher than me being set up on auto pay for the 1st of every month and Tower contacting me and sending me notices by the 25th of the month telling me my account was due, I would have to call them and remind them that my loan was on auto pay for the 1st of every month. But thats not why they get 1 star from me. The one star is br as of their Members Service Reps. One in particular named , Joe ( or something like that) he answered the phone for me this morning sounding drunk, or sleepy, or disheveled. He sounded very disconnected and uninterested. He had zero active listening skills because I gave him my SS# to access my account and when he pulled it up he asked me to verify the last 4 digits of my social again. I replied stating that I had just given him that information and I proceeded to ask him if he was okay. He then immediately placed me on hold and then "coincidentally" the phone happens to hang up. I call back and have to sit on hold for another 10 mins and get another female, same dead energy but she did manage to help me. She was horrible however, didnt make anything clear to me, I had to ask her questions to get clarity because she wasnt willingly giving me information about my account, she didnt even bother to ask if there was anything else she could help me with at the end of the call, she just sat on the phone silent like an incompetent incoherent person. I am a professional Learning and Development Trainer, Tower if you would like to hire me to teach tour Reps how to conduct themselves on calls, we can negotiate a position and salary for myself because this is awful.

Bittersweet, Tower gave my decent credit in the beginning......I ll repeat the beginning, I refinanced my BMW 750I loan with them and saved good money. But then, I paid off the loan early maybe paid about 5 years on it, and I paid it off because quite honestly I needed to sell it, it was beginning to be a money pit. Paid off a bunch of other bills had my score to 730.....I applied for a car loan with Tower and guess what? NOPE........told me to kick rocks, WELLS Fargo said yes, but for 60k at 6% I declined. In that same week Tower declined a close friend we both work in government her credit was better then mine and also had a long history with Tower......they told her WELL sorry you just missed the better rate by a few points??? Now let me be clear I may have been late once on auto loan and once late on my Gold card.......oh forgot to mention there's no grace period. But anywho..........you catching my drift here? Their under writers must have changed and turned into........just no people. Recently I just got approved for 60k with Toyota Motor Finance.......my rate 2.99%........and my score is 650 and my debt ratio is still about the same. I also recently switched my DD to Navy ....wow talk about fast service ....expedited in house transactions a bank check took all of 1.5 mins...no paper to fill out just my debit card....Just disappointed with my used to be fav Credit Union.......and the workers there are great.....just sad when you don't appreciate your long term customers..........If this happened to me I can imagine many others ..........you better do something with that sorry underwriting team.....and if anyone wants to contact me, I can show you my score and Toyota Credit and prove it.......I don't write false narratives.....I tell it like it is........
