The Shallows Resort Horseshoe Bay Rd, Egg Harbor

If your looking for a place to relax in Door County this is it! We had such a relaxing time here, and everyone we met was so friendly. They had complimentary kayaks, bikes, tennis court, basketball. My kids loved it here. The view from our room was incredible. You can tell the owner takes very good care of the place. The grounds and everything else is well maintained. We didn’t want to leave.

Right on the water. The small number of rooms makes it very private. Clean and well kept. Off the beaten path so it's very quiet, Our go to place in Door County!

We come every year! They have a perfect location! We love swimming in the bay and pool during the day and watching the sunset in the evenings. The boats, bikes, tennis/basketball things they have are a great bonus. We also love the cinnamon rolls and the cherries on the pillows. The grill space is also helpful and we make use of the game room often.

There were nice people working here and it was a clean place but, when my family and I went here a couple years ago, there was a big storm which, do to the lack of a generator despite being in a remote area, there was no running water or electricity. We had to flush our toilets with pool water! Ling story short we left. It is a nice resort but I would not go if there is severe weather in the forecast.

What a hidden gem - I almost don't want to advertise it and save it for ourselves - but that wouldn't be fair to the friendly staff and beautiful grounds. The view of the bay right outside our room was fantastic. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely visit again.

We visited early June in the summer of Covid-19. Our 1st visit and we found the rooms exceptionally clean, the staff kind and generous and the grounds simply beautiful. Wonderful sunsets, community fire pits, kayaking, tennis, basketball and bicycles available at no additional cost. Quiet, family and pet friendly too!

The staff was very friendly. I had the pleasure of meeting one of the owners, couldn't have been nicer. Clean rooms and comfortable beds. Beautiful view of the lake and very nice property.

Lovely quaint place to stay with great waterfront property. Staff was very friendly. Rooms were exceptionally clean. Would personally enjoy more quality cotton linen (sheets and towels) as well a local coffee/pastries as part of the continental breakfast - even if coat translated to increased room costs. Our bed was in need of replacement too. All that said, would return. Great option and dog friendly. Fabulous location for access to fun Egg Harbor, Fish Creek and local watering holes!

Exceeded our expectations! The pictures online don't do it justice. Beautiful sunset with ample outdoor seating and fire pits, very clean rooms with comfortable beds, and delicious, warm cinnamon buns in the morning. Bob made us feel like family. Our only complaint is that I wish we could have stayed longer!

We booked a stay here blindly on booking.com. We just wanted to get away at the last minute. We were pleasantly surprised by the accommodations. The owner and staff were very friendly and helpful. We upgraded to a lakeside room upon arrival which was worth the money. The room was clean, had a small kitchen area and very comfortable bed. The resort lies within a wooded area which makes for a beautiful setting. They have a pool and a hot tub. There is a pier to take a canoe out on the lake and a place to have a bonfire at night. They also have a tennis court in the woods. We stayed in the motel portion and it was perfect for us. They have other larger accommodations on site too. We will definitely be booking here again.

This was our first visit and stay in Door County ever. The Shallows was a wonderful little spot for these first timers. The views were beautiful, there was plenty of activities on the resort shore, and we were a quick distance from great things to do. The place was clean and it hardly felt busy even tho every room was occupied. Lovely little experience we look forward to doing again!

Have been coming for 9 years and the place retains its charm every time. Secluded with a wonderful view of the lake, this family-owned getaway is an excellent option for those looking to experience the natural side of Door County, away from the more touristy areas.
