Superior Pawn & Gun and, Hampton

I just left there where I purchased my first gun and Jennifer was the best!!!! If I could have given her a bonus I would because I didn't tell her but I had just left another well known store and they made me feel like nothing. She welcome me with a smile and she knew about the gun selection. I was so happy so if you are looking for a gun or anything please go to Superior Pawn where they treat you like a person!!! Thank you team and Jennifer I'm giving you a 10++++++++++ for your customer service and smile!!!!

THIS SHOP SEEMS TO BE OUT FOR YOUR MONEY I spent about 700$ here and was denied the purchase of a firearm. They kept all of the money and and refused to give me what I had paid back. The Consumer Bill Of Rights states that we the consumers have the right to be informed, the right to choose, and the right to safety. This buisness did not inform me of "hidden policies" such as a 200$ restocking fee until I asked for a refund (when it never even left their hands.) The firearm never left your side of the counter. And It stayed in your inventory. I'm considering taking this up legally. Had I known this, i would have reconsidered the purchase. I was also charged for two background checks. One over a week ago and one today. Why was I only notified today (after I paying the rest for the item I was denied) if the original background i paid for was actually ran, none of this would have happened. Very unprofessional buisness. However, I would like to reconsider this oppinion and do buisness with this shop if the issues can be resolved. I would just like what I paid back.

We went here to get some practice in and loved it. The range is smaller, but I preferred that. I've been to larger ranges and it was overwhelming. The staff is very knowledgeable and kind. They aren't just gun owners, but come from careers that support their knowledge

As a female purchaser I walked out with more knowledge about what I was looking for and what would be best for me. Staff was friendly, easy to talk to, knowledgeable and made me feel comfortable. Selection was broad, they offer concealed weapon course and teach how to properly use. I will be a continuing costumer

Professional staff, always great customer service. They have a great selection or can order what you are looking for. Also has an awesome layaway feature, let's you try out calibers on the range you just pay for the ammo. Plus there is a range membership that lets you bring a guest for free when you use the range (great for couples or if you have a buddy that wants to go). Highly recommend this place.

The staff was amazing, helpful and very welcoming. The gun selection and prices were pretty good as well. The only minor complaint I have would be their ventilation system in the range; it started to get a bit cloudy and hard to breathe after about 30 min. Of shooting. Other than that it's a great place for your gun needs.

Superior Pawn & Gun has always been my go to gun purchasing store. The whole staff has always been very professional and knowledgeable. Two thumbs up to Chauncey Blackwell. I spoke with him on the phone about what I wanted prior to arriving at the store. He had several makes and models waiting for me upon my arrival. I completed my purchase and was on my way home in less than 45 minutes. Great experience!!!! I will definitely recommend Superior Pawn & Gun to anyone wishing to purchase a firearm.

I went in the store not having a clue about firearms. Everyone was friendly and helpful. I left with my first firearm and more knowledge. I've been going back ever since, and will continue to be a loyal customer. I highly recommend this place, especially if it's your first time. I love this place!

I called ahead to see if Superior Pawn has what I wanted. Caitlyn informed me that they did. I showed up with some stuff I wasn’t using and left with some stuff I can make use of. Doesn’t get more straight forward than that! The point of owning any business is to make money so I knew I had to come with items worth more than what they would give me for them so they could make a profit. The key was that I wasn’t using those items so they had no value to me. The transaction was smooth and amicable. I’ve bought firearms from these guys in the past, used their range and now have used their pawn services. Each time it was a good transaction or I wouldn’t have returned. Their gun shop has expanded and honestly their staff is top notch and very knowledgeable. I will do business with them again!

Went in for the first time today for some range time. Signed in, bought some ammo and targets, shot, and I left, no problems at all. I was not shopping for a gun (but they did have many for sale), and they offer a VA CHL class if ur interested. My only ding really isn't against the store, but the price of 9mm FMJ ammo is ridiculous, but I guess that's just a sign of the times, retail availability, and my failure to have enough on hand to get thru these price surges. I'll go back after the cost of ammo drops back closer to pre-panic prices. Update: Went back to sell three no longer needed firearms. SP&G made me a fair offer and the sale/transfer process was quick and smooth. Another thumbs up!

I changed my review because I went in today and stood there for 15 minutes looking at your used inventory without anyone acknowledging me. Hawk is the only reason why I did not give this place a 1 star rating. He is a great and honest guy so if you go here ask for him. Other than that I recommend going somewhere else

This place is incredible. I really like how they split the business and made the pawn shop and the gun store/shooting range separate. This place has an outstanding selection of handguns and rifles. They typically carry handguns that are unique and that you can't find very often. The range is excellent for regular target practice with handguns. The range is fair priced and has a lot of rental handguns to choose from, not to mention a good selection of targets as well. As for the pawn shop, they have the best prices on jewelry i have ever seen. Great selection of electronics and tools/yard equipment as well. All the staff are very friendly and professional. If you want a great deal and great customer service i would highly recommend Superior. Support the small locally owned businesses instead of the big box stores that are in the area....

Best pawn shop in all of Hampton and none of the other pawn shops come close. You won't do better anywhere else. They have great staff and it is professionally ran. I've tried different pawn shops over the years and they don't come close to Superior. Good people to deal with that do fair and honest business. Highly recommend.

Great guys and always happy to support a local business. Plus anything over $500 gets a $25 gift card and 7 range visits. It’s really nice to also try a gun and shoot 10 rounds for $10 to make sure you like the gun if they have a rental. Great experience.

Hubby and I went there this past Wednesday to use the range for the first time. Thank you for a great afternoon. Excellent customer service. My sight flew off my 380 while shooting and they checked for it after hours but couldn't find it. Guess I'll have to buy a new sight later. I would definitely come again. :)

The staff is always friendly and helpful. Being a range member saves on FFL transfer fees and they’re super quick notifying you when you’re packages have arrived. Wouldn’t use anyone else for my range and transfer needs.

Took a CC class with Clay and he was very eager, respectful, and an effective teacher. I brought two friends with me who were also interested in CC. This was my first step into the gun culture and he made it a great experience. We were offered a free hour on the shooting range and decided to take advantage of the deal. I got some odd looks from some of the staff because I had never been on a range before and was anxious to not make a mistake or foul in any way. As I waited for my turn, one employee working made some sort of joke to the older employee, “Garby”. Something about “ancient Hebrew” and then made another remark saying, “well by the way things are going in the world better get used to it...” I’m sure it was just a joke, despite it not being funny, but as a professional establishment it would behoove your employees to not make anti Semitic comments like that. Everyone in the store heard it because he had to say it loudly to he heard over shooting range. Don’t know if I’ll be back to buy my first firearm from there, especially if those comments reflect the views of this establishment, but otherwise it was an empowering experience and I appreciated the service from Hawk, Garby, and Clay.

From start to finish I was pleasantly surprised with how nice, cordial, and professional everyone was when I walked in. I signed up for a year membership and I'm happy I did. I'll be back for my next gun purchase as well. Ken was helpful and ensured that I was taken care of and he answered all my questions confidently.

I understand being closed on the 4th of July; however, we called earlier in the week and asked if they would be open and were told that they would. We drove a good distance to shoot and when we arrived they were closed. There were several other customers in the parking lot. When we called, they even told us to get there early because they would probably be busy. We arrived at 10:00 to locked doors. Disappointed, especially in their customer service. Won’t bother with this place again.

They know me by name i have brought. 7 guns from there great customer. Service great people the parking is small but the spirit is there i bring all my friends and family there. To buy. Guns and shoot i wouldn't. Recommend nobody else and i shoot at alot of ranges the prices are fair and the people are fun. And good advice.

Excellent customer service. Listened and helped me pick out the perfect gun. Experienced people showed me how to clean, load, aim, and fire the gun. They also explained the laws in Virginia.

Mediocre at best. Range is hot (no ventilation), really close lanes I’m talking elbow to elbow, and ammo is over priced (5.7x28 they wanted 79$ when basspro has the same box for 37$). However it’s only 10$ per lane per hour so you get what you pay for. On days I don’t feel like traveling far this range adequate.

On 8/7/21 I took the concealed carry class with clay he was great. I’d recommend this location any day. The gun salesman is prior military and he’s amazing! You won’t regret it SHOP WITH SUPERIOR.

Excellent indoor range with outstanding ventilation. The range itself is definitely top notch. Very friendly and supportive staff. I called them a few times prior to visiting for the first time and each time they took the time to answer all of my questions and reassured all of my concerns. I was really impressed with the way they are willing to go to the extra mile to accommodate all of us in the Law Enforcement community. My first visit was definitely a great experience and I will definitely be a returning and frequent customer. I was even more impressed with the way I observed the staff interact with other patrons. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a full service range experience.

I've had dealings with Superior for at least 15 years now and have always had a good experience. If there was any issues the staff couldn't handle the owner was quick to handle to satisfaction. If they didn't have something in particular I wanted they would go out of their way to find it and keep their price as reasonable as possible. When it comes to selling my used firearms they've always giving me a fair price and treated me with respect. They were also very helpful with making modifications and Gunsmithing which they have on site in case any repairs or adjustments need to be made. Whatever your need Superior can handle it and are very fair with their prices and you will be treated with respect and most important the staff is extremely knowledgeable.

Overall great experience every time I come in! The staff is very knowledgeable and professional. The range is clean, and very safe for all shooters, whether you’ve shot for years, or if it’s your first time shooting! The showroom has a very wide selection at some of the best prices I’ve seen!

Everyone here was super friendly, especially Mike. Mike in particular is a very knowledgeable & experienced guy, I'm glad he was the 1st to approach me to ask if I needed help. The shop is nice & has a large selection of guns to chose from, and one thing I REALLY love is that you get 7 FREE RANGE VISITS with the purchase of a firearm. I wouldn't have wanted to get my first pistol anywhere else except for SUPERIOR PAWN. Check them out!

Absolutely the BEST customer service in the industry. Professional, quick, FUN, and incredibly knowledgeable. I recently turned 21 and was excited to purchase my first Hand Gun. They gave me information I didn't even know I wanted, offered to explain any and all the features of their massive selection, and made my feel truly appreciated as a customer. Not to mention they literally GAVE ME BIRTHDAY CAKE on my Birthday! Got the perfect gun on a perfect day. I will surely be back and will be recommending them to all of my friends!!! 6 out of 5 stars !!!!!

Great place to purchase guns Ken and Jesse are very knowledgeable about guns, accessories, and ammo. The range is good haven't had any problems shopping here the customer service is great. The layaway program here is perfect especially if you're on a budget, I would say my overall experience with them has been great I've purchased all of my firearms from here so far and haven't had any issues and bad service. I read one review where someone complained about them being racist, well I'm African American never once got treated wrong due to my race, never once got a racist comment out of anyone there and/or never once felt a racist vibe. They've always treated me with respect and as a valued customer.

This is my go to Pawn and Gun shop. They are extremely fair, friendly, understanding and crazy knowledgeable. We go to them to shoot at the range, but things and pawn things. I have never had a bad experience there. When I've run into any issues they accommodated me and my family. We go there so much they recognize us and greet us by name.

I’m a frequent customer to the gun shop and range. The staff is awesome, extremely knowledgeable and quick to treat you like a friend as opposed to a customer. I have also made several purchases and find the prices very competitive and often times lower than their competitors. Keep up the great work and see you on the range.

I have been using SP&G for over 14 years now and will keep going back! Quality people with a great level of knowledge of the firearms they sell. I think the most important factor that keeps me coming back is the attitude of the owner and the employees. Sure they want to make money, but they are sincerely friendly and good folks!! I am happy to continue to do business with them.

The trainer was so patient and wanted to make sure we felt comfortable. He kept asking us “Does that make sense?”, “Do you have questions?” This meant so much to me and my grandson. We are fans and will be back at least every other week. The other customers were so friendly and inviting. I love this place!!!

I have purchased most of my guns here at Superior pawn & Gun. I have been dealing with them for a few years now. They have a nice selection of firearms, and a very knowledgeable staff. I definitely recommend this store to everyone in town.

Helpful staff and guy who was dealing with me was pleasant. It’s to bad he’s not a Glock guy. I probably would’ve got offered just a little bit more for my Glock. Although sad about the offer I am very happy with my new purchase and will definitely suggest to any of my friends.

I have visited the shop and the gun range about 3 times. The staff is very professional, knowledgeable and especially helpful. I recently took the concealed carry gun class. The instructor was an excellent teacher...very knowledgeable. It was an excellent class and I highly recommend it. Very positive all-around experience....5 Stars...

Recently purchased my first firearm at this location. Staff members were very nice and knowledgeable on guns/ammo. (Hawk) customer service was excellent and I will be back.

I just left Superior Pawn and Gun a couple hours ago and enjoyed myself. The range was awesome and they have a great selection of guns available to use. They also honor military discounts. The people/employees are very nice and fun to talk to as well. I will be visiting again in the near future!

Checked out the gun shop and range. Staff was very friendly. I had to wait a few minutes on a range stall to open but that’s okay. I talked with some nice folks while a spot opened up. The guys gave me a couple quotes on new guns as well. A nice surprise was to see that they offer a layaway deal on firearms. It’s also the only place I’ve found that sells Balistol.

Great service especially for the range. They answered all questions without hesitation. The range is a little small but has outstanding ventilation and very user friendly. Their rentals are always cleaned and oiled. I recommend it to anyone.

Whole staff was awesome. MJ and Ken were the ones who helped me. They had awesome attitudes even when the shop was busy. You can tell they enjoy there work. Would give more than 5 stars if I could.

I have made 3 purchases with Superior Gun within the month. One purchase was on line. Some how the order was delayed. The team at Superior Gun immediately looked into the issue and solved it quickly. They are great people to do business with!
