State Employees’ Credit Union E 3rd St, Charlotte

I avoid going here even though it’s the closest to my apartment. The employees make me feel unwelcome and like I shouldn’t be in there. Today three employees were literally laughing in my face because my account wasn’t able to process a check. When I asked for clarification the main one helping me was rude and short with the answer. She handed me my things back rolled her eyes and said have a nice day even though I was still trying to ask questions about my account and how I can avoid it being such a headache every week when I try to deposit my check from work. I was ignored so I left and effortlessly cashed my check somewhere else. I know the bank’s main focus isn’t customer service but I don’t think anyone deserves to be humiliated because of how much money is in their account and in 2022 I don’t think processing a check should ever take a week.

I have loved the good service at the Credit Union, especially during the pandemic. I like being able to walk in and actually talk to the person counting my deposit. I volunteer for two organizations who use two other banks, and my experience at the Credit Union has made me especially glad to be a member.

Love being a part of SECU. Staff at the 3rd street location can be hit or miss. My husband and I first went in for information on getting started with buying a house over the summer, and it's a total luck of the draw who you meet with (it's whoever's available when you check in). Girl we met with over the summer was not super friendly or helpful, never replied to emails. Came back in the fall to actually apply for a mortgage and got to work with Bryan Darden, who was wonderful to work with. He really worked to make sure we had a stress-free, quick process and that nothing fell through the cracks. Our realtor even commented on how efficient Darden was at getting all our stuff in order with time to spare.

Excellent customer service at this location! An employee by the name of Jennifer has been the most helpful to me and my husband during a difficult time in our lives and I'd recommend her and this branch to anyone!! 5 stars..

these guys are always busy whenever I swing through but the lines go by fairly quickly!

This is by far my favorite SECU location!! They are always extremely helpful and willing to go above to get you any answers you need, and with incredible attitudes. Even in times of my frustration (mostly due to dealing with the terrible University location), they have never once given me a nasty attitude and are quick to find resolutions. Thank you so much for your exceptional service here!

In September 2018 my husband and I was looking for a loan to buy a house next door to us that was sold as is for property taxes....Zach helped us out by getting us started with a pre-approved loan...very patient and honest man...enjoyed talking with him...he was very knowledgeable with what he did. He told us what we needed to bring back and why..thanks a million Zach! I recommend anyone to this credit union. We did return on 1/2/19...will let you know the outcome of that after we finished. ..

You can't go wrong by by doing business with a credit union. SECU is an excellent credit union with great perks and services. The customer service at SECU and this branch in particular is a whole lot better than what you'll typically get with a larger national bank. Although they are a bit behind as far as technology's concerned (SECU finally just recently launched a mobile app, for example), you can't go wrong with SECU.

Enjoy Credit Union lack of fees! I wish they would allow you to deposit checks with photographs from your phone!
