The only reason I’m giving more than one star is that when you’re physically at the bank, everyone is great and I never have a problem. Their technology and systems are not customer friendly and I’m really tired of years and years of issues both with the phone system and their app. I’ve been with this bank for almost 11 years. The banking app they use works 50% of the time. The other 50% I have to log in on a Web browser because any attempt to log into the app triggers a pop up error. The in-app Mobile deposit for checks is the worst system I have ever used, the automatic capture will not take a photo despite following the instructions it’s giving me. I don’t know how much darker of a background I need when I’m using a solid black background, and I know what the front and back of a check are - obviously the auto-capture doesn’t because if it’s not the background its telling me to change, it’s the face of the check...even though the check is on the side it should be. The phone systems are just an endless loop of robots. If you’re using the member service center to call them about an issue with your account it will give you an option to speak to a person but attempting to use it just throws you back where you started in an endless frustrating cycle. Every time I call I have to go through a line I do not need just to be routed to the person I need to speak to. If you’re going overseas, it doesn’t matter how many times you tell them or how specific about your itinerary you are, they will still freeze all of your accounts the first time you attempt to purchase anything. If you’re a traveller like me with limited internet access to call them every time they lock your card, good luck. Even speaking with the team on the phone gets you nowhere. They tell you they’re filling some form out so that it stops happening and then they continue to lock your card. Extremely inconvenient and inconsistent, I gave them a full itinerary both times I went overseas every time I contacted them to unlock the card to no avail. They obviously lack communication between departments. Instead of fixing any of these things for years, they just keep adding new technology and systems to make things more complicated. It’s ridiculous and I’ll be changing banks soon. Tired of the inaccessibility.
I truly feel bad even leaving them a 1 star review. As a realtor, it has personally been the worst experience I have ever had. For my client, it has been the worst experience he has ever had. These Employees work on the mindset of being done at 5:00pm and their clients do not matter at all. The management did not call me back once, and Stephanie Vargas was the worst express mortgage processor that I have ever dealt with. Complete negligence, and have no idea how what being a lender is truly about. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY IF YOU WANT A SMOOTH TRANSACTION. THEY ARE A COMPLETE JOKE and should not be able to even consider themselves a business.
Opened an account because this credit union has a very good rate for my loan. The one star. Can not make mobile check deposits. Keeps telling me the pictures are not of good quality? I can deposit the same checks with the same pictures from the same phone to my banks? And there ATM's does not accept check by scan only by envelope and there are never any envelopes available at the ATM machines. Very inconvenient bank. UPDATE - 3/16/19 - I can now make mobile deposits - discovered that the check can only take up 3/4 of the picture size and they work fine. Update to 3 stars.
Been a customer since 2006. We have 6 accts with them. No issues until three months ago. Now because of their new fraud system. I'm stuck using credit cards and getting fees from bills like the electric company (who charges you for a fund rejection) because they reject everyday purchases and call the next day. So when your in Walmart with 200$ worth of stuff and a line behind you you have to grab a credit card then pay interest on that. I've had it, they won't let us talk to supervisiors and on Sundays you can't even get a human to speak too. My husband drives all over the country. Do they flag other states, a few times, the vast majority of declines are in our town or the one next to us at places we frequent. Enough.... Once they were a great bank now they are a major pain in the bum! Tomorrow a new bank will her our service. I can't continue to pay money we work hard for when we already pay for each acct every month $5per acct, even when the balances are above what they say you don't get charged for.....
Deposited a $4500 check and was told in the branch it would be a 2 day hold. Checked on the online banking and it showed "2 day deposit hold". 5 business days later the funds were still not available. Called and asked what was going on. They told me that my account was new and the hold would be for 7 business days even though online and in branch it would be only 2 days. Wth??? Seems like the people here have no clue what they are doing
Branch went above and beyond assist me in establishing my account. Teller explained the various banking options also using cvs and all point network. The option to use share branch service but that service only available when your outside SCCU branch area or different state. The now have deposit feature in the atm.
Updated. I think their website is a very poor design. For example: the “Quicklinks” is at the very bottom after you scroll down THREE times. The link to see statements should be at the very top, not buried down at the bottom after scrolling twice. Some of the windows you have to move a slider to see the full information. It’s really in need of a complete overhaul. They used to be better. When they redesigned their systems my accounts got all screwed up. Recently I got a call that there was a suspicious charge on my card. I went in and requested a new card. Filled out forms. Waited. Nothing. Finally called them and they had no records of this whole incident. No clue. I closed my accounts.
A portal for low interest auto loans and easy to open savings accounts. Holds on large deposits are intense to the point of feeling like a hostage. The tellers are very polite, professional and patiently listen to concerns.
Nice appearance. Good expectations. Did hard pull of credit report without disclosing. (Later turned out they can/do open without hard pull. Well, it is important ro me if I intend to do a major purchase soon, like mortgage or car loan) Then they sent us three bundles of double checks, which we did not order. Charge for them, took money from accounts, overdrawing all three of them. Which results in insufficient balance fees. To the phones (because you can't solve anything at a branch); half hour hold time, gazillion questions, clueless rep, eventually dropped the line!!! Another round of waiting.... No instructions on the online banking... On the plus side, branch is empty, tidy, cool. All smile. If THAT'S banking - go for it. I am leaning towards closing all five of our newly opened accounts, bite the loss and run away. P.S. on the phone. For another half hour. They say they would credit back. If they do, I'd count that as an extra star (to a total of three). But general feeling is: disorganized, somewhat inconvenient, but nice... P.S. Update: again nice; again not helpful. This time around non-standard operation, something the "never heard of", in response to "numerous other banks do this" they said "we are not a bank"... Credit union further down the road provided that service. And you ALWAYS have to explain all twice: first to 800 ## then repeat to the branch. There is no way around.
Just opened an account and so far very unhappy with the service. Deposited a check with them and they told me the money would be available on Monday. Went to the bank on Monday to make a withdraw and they said that the money would be available on Wednesday. Call to find out what is going on and I get grilled by Loss prevention about why I want to take money out of the account. None of your business actually. Then they say that people never really deposit checks and then take money out and that is odd. Really? I am pretty sure people do this all of the time otherwise why would you need the bank. And now the money will not be available for another week. Poor attitude and very rude acting like I am some kind of criminal because I want to get MY money out of the bank! Do yourself a favor and dont go thru what I am just to get what is yours. Just use a larger institution, I know they have problems also but definitely not like this. Rude rude rude service and very long delays!
