SouthState Bank N Courtenay Pkwy, Merritt Island

BEWARE!!! I started a bank here with my wife when I lived in the area. Work moved me to SC, which they do not have branches. They mailed me a form to close the account, which I filled out. Afterwards, I got a letter saying that account charges made it go delinquent. I figured it must be a mistake and called them. They reassured the account was closed and to ignore the latter. I got another one with MORE charges. I called them and spoke to the manager who again assured me the account was closed and I didn't need to worry. I tried logging in online, which didn't work so I figured this time it was closed. 6 months later I get a collections letter saying it went to my credit. DO NOT START AN ACCOUNT HERE. Now I have to fight this and spend more time trying to figure this out. Horrible experience.

Over the past few months business banking has been challenging at times, but Centerstate has been great in helping my business thru these times. Chris Pavey and his team do a great job.

I've never had a friendlier, more helpful bank. I've been working with the Melbourne branch for my business and couldn't be happier. The tellers there know me by name and do anything they can to make each visit there a pleasant one.

My neighbor is overseas and asked me to take a check from her mail to her bank to deposit. I wanted to go inside to a teller because I didn't know the account number, or even for sure what name was on the account. SERIOUSLY??? I couldn't enter the building because of the metal detector and vice-like security system at the door??!! I took out my phone, my altoids, my little mace canister, my keys... and my purse still set off the detector?!! It's friendlier at TSA than at this bank. In the end, they wouldn't let me in the door. What do they have inside that bank?? Gold bars? Hundreds of pre-school children? Do they employ the President of the United States?? Or is it that they are a target of Al Qaeda? Do banks in Merritt Island, FL get held up a lot...? Or EVER for that matter? Maybe they get free insurance if they NEVER let anyone in the building. I've never been so put-off by a place of business. If I was a customer, or a prospective customer, I would run away screaming. It wasn't even close to "un-friendly". It was vile.
