Southern Bank Preacher Roe Blvd, West Plains

Ok so my father gets a refinance loan on his property. He is 80 + yrs old. They give him a loan for 30 years. Knowing he wasn't going to live to pay off the note. Anyway that's another issue. He passes away and my brother gets the house titled in his name in a beneficial deed. We have to sell the house and land because he can't afford the payment's. Now through all the paper work the bank sends a check to our dad's estate for less than two hundred dollars. The great southern bank, the one that gave a mortgage to a 80 + year old man, won't cash the check for my brother. He sold the house and they wrote the check to my dad's estate. It would cost money for a lawyer to cash a two hundred dollar overage check. Come on Southern Bank and cash the check for my brother. Jeez what customer service ..

The only reason this bank is getting one star is because that is as low as it will let me go. It deserves more like a half a star or none at all! Customer service is very poor, save the headache and bank elsewhere. I tried making a withdrawal out of their ATM and it claimed the amount was too large and did not give me any money. I checked my balance shortly after and the ATM took the money out of my account but yet I didn’t receive any of it. I have called every day for the past two weeks since then to see when they will refund it and nothing has been done, nobody knows anything (that’s when they do actually answer the phone) and I am stuck with all kinds of late fees and barely getting by just because of all this. I am a healthcare worker and worked hard for this money especially with the pandemic. I have worked extra hours and odd jobs just trying to recoup. This is the worst experience I’ve ever had and definitely would not recommend this bank to anyone!

The customer service is very poorly constructed. I have been with this bank 13 years, and they keep going through employees too much in the last four years, or so. The inconsistency of employees makes banking here unsatisfactory. The teller I dealt with today was extremely rude, slamming the computer keys, her pen on the counter, and very disrepectful demeanor towards me.She does not give eye contact while she talked to me, and this made it confusing to know if she was talking to me or the speaker phone in her ear. She also did not give me the information I asked for. She was even worse when I confronted her about being disrespectful since I came in. She sent a girl from the drive-thru window, and refused to help me at first. She was very snide when she talked to me.The employees did not greet as I came in and this is keen for customer service. I will no longer be banking here due to the issues prior and the ones today. I would not recommend this bank for banking in West Plains. I will be switching all my banking to a respectful bank as soon as possible.

I was needing some help and advice concerning different types of accounts and everyone was friendly and patient. They spent a lot of time with me, were a tremendous help, and seemed genuinely happy to do it.

Takes a bit of patience to get through to the West Plains office - but, when you do, you'll be helped by friendly and competent people. A direct phone number to West Plains branch office would be highly appreciated by lokal customers

Very friendly staff. Already say hi and welcome us when we come in. Always had answers for any questions. And were great help in setting up my online banking.
