I'm not an easiest customer at all with all my background in the sales industry and I've been doing mortgages in the past. Although the people were nice and professional they are not veteran friendly! My father who is a disabled combat veteran and gets SSI & disability was unable to obtain a VA loan through South Pacific Financial despite being qualified for a VA loan. They stated the credit score needed to be 620 or higher. I know many soldiers who did not have to meet this requirement. I contacted several other lenders, 3 of which did not have this requirement and were able to get him approved with his credit score of 590.
