Recently had a very rewarding experience with South Bay Credit Union. August last year I refinanced my automobile thru the credit union with Sarah Aguilar at 23%. I was financed thru the car dealer at 28%. Sarah told me if I brought my score up I could refinance again. I did just that and, to her word, she refinanced for me once again at 8%! I also had an unsecured loan I had taken for $4,300 at 23%. She refinanced that loan for me as well at 13%! The savings I will have over the percentages of both loans brought down to the incredible percentage will provide me with the opportunity of actually making payments and the majority of the payments going to the principal rather than 90% interest. Thank you Sarah Aguilar!!!! I would strongly recommend South Bay Credit Union to any and all. You get the personal care everyone deserves.

The team at SBCU is top notch. Not only are they friendly but they know what they are doing. I have been banking with them for over 20 years. They not only do my personal banking, but also handle my small business banking needs. They are timely and fast which all small business need. Don't hesitate bank with them not only for their top level service, but their low fees and fast loan approval process. #JustDoIt

I have been with Southbay credit union for over 15 years. They have 3 locations and many finical services such as home loan, car loans, and business loans. It is an excellent solution if you want a small business credit union with many services and amenities.

This is the worst branch thus far. I don't know why they felt led to open it... absolutely not needed. Nothing but unprofessional customer service. They never answer their phones, nor do they accurately assist you with your account issues. Also, Yvette is the rudest manager you could ever imagine. Nothing but sass and attitude. I can't wait to switch from this horrible credit union. I've had enough.

Amazing experience at SBCU! From the time you walk thru the door - the atmosphere, the energy, the people who work there! Unlike any credit union I’ve ever been to! Shout out to Sarah Aguilar and her team for making my transaction so easy!! Her knowledge and guidance through the whole process was a tremendous help in determining my needs. So thankful to have found them and recommend SBCU to anyone considering a credit union!!

This was my first credit union account. At first I was very happy. I now understand that I was happy with the credit union model (lower balances, higher interest rates, small town feel.) But, South Bay Credit Union is slowly changing to a corporate bank. Some wonderful tellers left for better paying positions elsewhere, leaving some tellers that I won't deal with anymore. They changed our over-draft protection from our savings account (which was free.) to a form of insurance policy program that intercepts an overdraft, and micro-loans you money (for a fee). The notice of the change was in with the junk mail included with a statement. -You have to opt out of the program in writing, which is one of those things you don't find out about until it's too late. More fine-print all the time. Credit unions are great, but SBCU looks like it is in it for the money. However, to their credit, they DON'T MAKE MISTAKES. And the parking is free. (UPDATE: July 2015. My experience shifts from pleasant to crappy as the years roll by. Today was a chat with a crabby teller so I left reminded that the angry ones tend to stay much longer. INTERESTINGLY ENOUGH... I went to Google today looking for alternatives to SBCU (again) and I saw my review above was gone. Gasp! How could it be???? So I logged in to Google write a new one to replace it, and GASP! there is was! My 2 star review from 8 years ago was still there, just not viable. ... Wait... hua? Okay, so what's the point of reviews if they are not reviewable? I guess the venting is to help us feel better. Oh well. SBCU still has low minimum balances, so over all, it's worth the trouble. ... However, with better management this place could be so much better. -But I guess you can't fire the owners. It does, however, leave room for a competitive Credit Union to better serve us Redondoins. I can wait for that. Have a great one peeps.

As a Resident of North Side Redondo Beach for over 40 years take some advice from someone who knows the area. This bank is an absolute joke, it's existence of still functioning is solely based on the RB Police & Fire employees, the RB city workers and a very small percentage of small business owners that for some reason still bank with them even though they are the worst in charging of fees. They are so behind in the lack of technology. It took them more than 10 years before they finally put an ATM machine in. The reason: because of security they were not sure about even placing one on outside of Artesia Blvd. I stopped banking with them along time ago the staff is never the same the have a high turn over on employees accept for one who works in the loans you would think that this bank was some training of new employees for another bank. So I had to go back to this bank again because my aunt whom I work for still does banking with this bank. I need to get statements for one year ago that their poorly designed website would not allow me to print the website would only give me 6 months so I thought there must be a glitch or something because six months is ridiculous. They explain to me that their company who they use has them set up on a system that could only hold up to 6 months of statements. If I wanted to get copies for the months of 6/20/11 0 6/20/12 that would be 2.00 each month. This is not the first time where they finding ways to nickel the members on fees. The office manager came down to talk to me and plainly asked me "Why do I bank there if I am so dissatisfied" .That was an easy one I told her I didn't I stopped along time ago, I don't have a choice because I am taking care of business for my aunt and she does still bank there. The manager tried to comment to me that my Wescom Credit Union bank changes for more fees than the South Bay Credit Union. I told her this was untrue not only are their Home, Auto loan rates cheaper but you get a lower rate buy a 1/4 if you have your payment come directly from your account also Wescom does not charge for Notary services. Thats just right off the top of my head. So now I am stuck paying their fees of $48.00 to get statements going one year back I will not get them till tomorrow before five closing. If you are a North RB Resident and looking for a bank to be your local bank make sure you shop around and don't get misled by their outside sign stating the Neighborhood Bank. Oh one more thing somehow they find the money to hire a third party telephone service like the bigger Wescom Credit Unions do to answer calls 9-5 they never pick up the phone if you press "0" I was told by the manager that if I would listen to the list of choices (long list, and this is not a joke) the call would of routed me to someone in the actual bank there on Artesia her answer to me is "well, you shouldn't of pressed "0". Right, she made so much more sense now. "Not" Anyway, I wanted to warn anyone out there that might be looking at them as a potential bank for them selves. Oh yes lastly I just remembered they bounced one of my work checks because of the check being different than what they normally get. I am not kidding this is the answer I got when they researched that money was more than enough there routing number address's etc everything was the same. I was completely shocked the mistake came from the third party company they use. I noticed the five star rating didn't give much detail and expand why this bank is so much better or equivalent to other credit unions. I figure it must of been put there by one of the managers that had nothing better to do but to work on marketing for this bank. That will be the last dime they get from my aunt for ridiculous charges. I will have to do some extra work to find out all the accounts that are currently doing direct deposits and autowithdrawls but taking her banking out of there would be the best thing for her which she will soon see. A very close friend of mine told me about how South Bay was able to give him a great rate. So, I decided to see if they could do the same for me. Edlina helped me with refinancing my car and got me a great low rate. The process was really smooth and easy. She was absolutely amazing.

Atm is available 24 hours. They treat you like a person even calling you by your name. His was the best choice I have ever made for banking and I wish I had done it sooner.
