Social Security Administration L St, Chula Vista

Like many folks, I had to put a lot of things on hold because of the Pandemic. Despite calling the SS National number and not getting any help, I finally waited until the SS offices reopened in San Diego. Although I was hesitant to go because of the bad reputation, I was incredibly pleased and impressed with my experience. The entire staff, from guards to representatives were incredibly polite, understanding and efficient. I went in with no appointment and waited a little over an hour. Once I got to the window, I was out the door within 5 minutes. Highly recommend. All the employees are bilingual and speak Spanish. If that is something that is important to you, I would highly recommend this South Bay, Chula Vista location.

After several calls, a woman answered us, super rude, we just wanted an appointment for a procedure for my daughter for her social. She just hung up on us telling us to go downtown, we called again and nothing! awful care

I was applying for a name change on a social security card w an original document court decree. My application was rejected 3x for "...not including an original document." I came to understand that the rejection must have been occurring because the processors were failing to find the offical seal/stamp on the flip side of the decree; it appears that further training for attention to detail is required. I made an appointment, went in, pointed out that the seal was on the reverse side of the decree, and my application was approved in <5mins.

This is the 3rd call today and a few days ago it was the same. I have been dropped and have water over 1/2 hour every time to talk to no one. I understand the office gets busy but for real!

Was on hold for approximately 45 minutes to ask for help making an simple appointment and asking for information. The gentleman who answered the phone was EXTREMELY condescending and rude for no reason.

I called multiple times yesterday, 2/28 was on the line for 4 hours just to get through, finally i got through and line was dropped... i cried out of frustration... today, 3/1 was a different day.. Melissa Gomez was GODSEND, the best customer skills, patient, understanding with my frustration, worked with my application transferred from Richmond ( sent online app since December 2021) worked diligently with my application while being on hold. Repeated her responses patiently to my concerns since our phone lines were not very good. Melissa is a ROLE Model, excellent customer service skills. Blessings will come your way. , I believe it!!

Went this morning to get my 10 month old’s gender corrected. I had the old birth certificate, the new birth certificate, the hospital verification paperwork, the hospital amended paperwork, the social security card with application as they asked me to have when I spoke to them when making the appt and he STILL wanted another form of identification like a passport or insurance card. The person I spoke to on the phone said having both birth certificates was good to have as forms of identity. I had to take off of work for my appt, i don’t have time to keep going back and forth. I made the appt with the records stated and then he put on the refusal that I didn’t have the documents required when i had so many. When i asked him for the number so I can make a complaint he gave me the wrong number.

Worst. Place. Ever. You have to be rude to work there because everyone in the office has that one quality going for them! Negative experience guaranteed. No parking, crowded and totally frustrating! Like I said, worst place ever!

not one person that works here has any clue what they are doing !! they have messed up my case over 10 times telling me that I owe them money when they are the ones that owe me back pay. Each case worker tells you different things about your case they have no idea what they are doing.

No one picks up the phone. Systems says by appointment only. Main number also takes for ever and they don’t give appointments to local offices, this is a merry go round of inefficiency
