Sierra Auto Finance Reviews

Sierra Auto Finance apparently contracts their customer service phone calls to the "Caribbean" and whatever agency they are using has horrible employees as well as supervisors matching plenty of previous comments. I've worked in a call center for 2 years for Bank of America and I well aware of the shenanigans that go on. I simply called to speak with a supervisor about the concerning issue of untimely processing of mailed in payments. Today's experience leads me to believe that the payment processing could also be contracted out as well. If there's a 8.00 processing fee for online payments, then I guess it's too much of an expense for Sierra Auto Finance to locally process payments when they are already charging customers high interests rates. I was hung up on by one "supervisor" in the "Caribbean", called back to only get another customer service agent blatantly lie to being located in Dallas, TX and I then asked to speak to a supervisor again. The customer service agent continued to not honor my request stating that she needed my information. I told her that I would gladly give my information to a supervisor once they're on the line. The "supervisor" quickly stated her name in a blur, and I asked if she could repeat her name. She repeated her name and I asked her what location she was in. The "supervisor" then stated that she didn't see the importance of answering my question of her location. I explained to the supervisor of my call center experience and a true member of leadership would know that when a customer asks for a location they have to truthfully answer the question but with a general, not exact location. The supervisor then stated she was in the "Caribbean" and that I "should've been able to pick that up from her accent." I'm no longer calling Sierra Auto Finance for no assistance! You try to call the cooperate number listed on the website and a voice recording states that they are closed, however the time I made the call was within the parameters of the hours of operation. Sierra Auto Finance, I will now call the Better Business Bureau in hopes that they can help you straighten out the apparent kinks you currently have in your business operations. It's absolutely horrendous that myself, a disabled United States veteran that has not missed a payment nor made a late payment for three years now have to tolerate such lousy customer service from an outsourced agency doing business for a domestic company.

This is the worst finance company to deal with. They do not care or try to help you out one bit. I refinanced my loan through my bank to get out from under them and the refused to take them. They "lost them". My bank had to send a new check and they finally delivered. My contract was for me not to have to pay for 1 month, but with Sierra being as horrible as they are, I had to pay that month so it did not affect my credit. Sierra cannot do math and WILL NOT refund it to me. I have a car payment floating in the air and they will do nothing about it. Worst company EVER!
L
they sold most of their accounts to another company and didnt bother to tell anyone, so when I attempted to make my payment as I do every month, (on line) I got the pop up that said it couldnt find my account. took 2 month to finally be able to connect with the company, because the phone # I had was taking me to the new company, whom told me they have no record of my account. Now my account is in collections and only a balance of $600 out of $22,000... What kind of a company operates like that? I would advise NO ONE to finance through Sierra Auto Finance. My credit suffers their lack of professionalism and responsibility.

They're horrible! All these processing fees to just pay off a loan. I owe just over 6k. If paying with a card they can't process more than 1k at a time. So another words I have to process my payment 7 times to pay off a loan. They also charge 9.95 to do it each time! Horrible! I just payed off my other car which was over 9 thousand dollars and with that company it was easy. I made a one time payment of the payoff balance NO processing fees and received my title to the vehicle no problem no headaches!! It should be a crime the way this company is handling things and all these fees that are completely outrageous. I would recommend everyone to NOT ever use this company and go elsewhere! Sierra auto finance will not negotiate anything what so ever. Horrible company to use. Period!

It seems like most of the problems people are having are due to not paying on time, or not knowing HOW to buy a car from a dealership. Let's be clear this is a second chance auto finance lender, there is going to be high interest. And there are people actually bitching about their monthly payment higher because of what the dealership slid into your contracts? Guess you need to LEARN HOW TO READ before you sign papers. I have been paying all of my payments 2 weeks in advance through their website and have had 0 issues with them. Setting up finance with them was smooth and easy. The lady I talked to for the interview was very nice and professional. Even when I was missing proof of residence they allowed me to work directly with them instead of the dealership. I faxed over the appropriate papers and everything went smooth. You're going to have trouble when you miss payments, obviously. Don't buy a car you can't afford! Read the fine print before you sign at the dealership, believe it or not the finance company is on YOUR side, not theirs. If you feel like you are being screwed over let them know ASAP before the deal is finalized. Come on people that is basic common sense! And to all the people complaining about high interest. Are you daft? Did you not bother to read the paperwork from the dealership?

Literally the worst "customer service" that I have ever received and I quote customer service because in all honesty, THEY DON'T HAVE IT. Every bill, the website and phone system prompt you to reach out to customer service with any issues but when you call the line, all of the agents state that there is no customer service department and that they only deal with collections. Not to mention, THEY ARE ALL SO RUDE!!! Some serious quality assurance needs to happen because no matter when I call, I am always treated like my call isn't important and that I'm wasting the agents time. The DMV requested my title from them in February when I moved, it is now almost July and it we still have nothing. And what's funny is the first agent I talked to said I'd have the title in 15 days. I cannot explain how happy I am to have refinanced and finally being able to walk away from this company.

This company repossessed an automobile in which I was the primary name on the note for, without my consent. The co-signer was in sole possession of the car and fell seriously behind on the payments. During this time, I had no contact with the co-signer due to our relationship being over. I was never once contacted via phone, e-mail, U.S. Mail, smoke signal, anything by the company in order to resolve this and keep my credit score up. Eventually, the car was repossessed with only the co-signers verbal agreement that I was knowingly surrendering the vehicle. Only after checking my credit score and being denied a loan was I told there was a repo on my record. After contacting Sierra, they informed me the co signer gave consent for me and they admitted to never having made any sort of contact with me, despite the fact that my phone number hasn't changed since initially getting the loan. They've also informed me that there's nothing I can do to get it off my record and that the car had already been sold at auction. 3 things to remember and I learned the hard way- Never co sign for anybody you don't 100% trust. Stay vigilant on your credit report to avoid such instances. Never do business with this company. I was much younger and more naive when this occurred. These lessons cost my credit and future legal fees to prove wrong doing and get it off my record.

Update 9/16: I have never had such a 360 with my feelings toward a company than with this one. After my initial post I left yesterday, I received a phone call from Blake Kirk. Let me start off by saying that Blake immediately made me feel at ease since every time I would have to deal with Sierra, my blood would boil. He took the time to explain his position within the company and addressed my concerns thoroughly. And he cared. He didn't call me just to appease me, he actually gave a crap AND he took responsibility for my experiences. It would have been much easier for him to offer me an empty apology. I have changed my rating from 1 star to 4. I am leaving the last star for the coming months to see if a change was indeed made. I have confidence it will. Thank you, Blake. I have never been more happy and eager to give a company my money every month :) 9/15 The worst possible "bank" I have ever dealt with in my entire adult life. They are rude, unprofessional, and absolutely do not care about their customers. I was being pro-active and called them 2 weeks before my due date to let them know that i had a DEATH in my family so I had to make unexpected travel arrangements which put a dent in my wallet. The 3 reps I spoke with (supervisor and manager) asked me when I got paid-then told me that I have more than enough time to pay and that I should prioritize and if I cant afford the car then I should cancel the loan. WHAT?! you insult me by ASSUMING since I get paid every week that its enough to cover the car plus the expenses I had. I hate these people with every fiber of my being. I also have numerous calls record when a miserable hateful see you next Tuesday told me flat out that shes not transferring me to a supervisor "because she doesn't want to" Please please please do not use them

This company is by far the worst I have EVER dealt with. They prey on people with bad/no credit and get you into a car but refinance options are slim to none and NO other companies will deal with them. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. Worst decision I've made in awhile and I wish I would have done my research beforehand. They make you pay to pay them! Online, automated, calling the payment in, ect you are charged a fee for that! RIDICULOUS! I mail in an old fashioned check every month in order to not pay extra... THE WORST!

I called to pay off my car today. I was told the payoff is $5,532.00 but there are only 14 payments left on the car. 14 payments at $330 a month is $4,620. So where exactly is the rest of that money coming from? I asked for a supervisor to get on the phone (Had to wait 20 minutes) and what I got was an extremely rude woman who I could not understand. They claim they are in Texas NO their call center is in the Caribbean. I have asked several times to speak with someone I could understand and I keep getting told to hang up and call back with the same Caribbean people answering the phone. They are shady as all get out. RUN away from this company.

Well as for me I've been with Sierra Finance for 2 years and two months. and I've been very impressed with they service. even when a car dealership was trying to get extra money from me due to my credit being not so good. they put that car dealership in check personally. Mr. ballet don't owe you all anything so stop trying to get extra money from him. It was very impressive for them to be sticking they neck out for me like that. By the grace of God two years and two months I never been late matter fact I'm 2 months a hay with my payments.the interest is high.but in all do respect is a good company.allso my credit score have went over 700...

If your thinking about dealing with this company just run and run fast. I have been dealing with them for almost 2 years now and called to get a pay off amount and they are charging me for the full interest for everything and they also charge interest per day. They also charged for full interest for 42 days and I asked the customer service lady which month has 42 days in it because they only have 30 or 31 days and she said your right but your not understanding what im saying. I told her your right I'm not because your overcharging me and after paying $8300 only $800 has gone towards my car the rest has gone to interest. And for the last 4 months my monthly payments have all go towards interest and nothing towards the principle. The customer service is junk and beyond rude, they lie to you and tell you one thing then write down something else and charge you even if you pay early on your payments

I am always current and pay my bill on time each month. I have had to call into the 'customer service' line 4 times and each time has been a horrific. They are rude, unprofessional, and do not care about their customers. I will NEVER recommend anyone to them and i will definitely not do business with them anymore. I have yet to find one rep or manager that is willing to actually listen and hear their customers out. I hate going through Sierra for my car and will be looking to change that soon just because having to call and talk to them is a hassle.

Since I first heard of this company when seeking financing for the vehicle I got through a local dealership in my area, I have come to regret ever hearing of their name. They literally are the worse possible company to deal with when it comes to automotive financing. For each card transaction you make, both on their website, via mail or on the phone, they charge you an extra $6.95 for the process. As far as their APR rate is concerned, it is very sky high, currently at around 23%. Their initial terms mandate that you be put into a high mileage older car that is at high risk of developing mechanical and electrical problems as well. They really don't document much, either, unless it has to do with a payment you're making to them. Multiple times I have sent them copies of my insurance, and they haven't even bothered documenting that for who knows what reason. I'm pretty sure that they are just barely above the line of what defines legal, that's it. Go through a private owner if this company is seriously your only option for financing a vehicle. Save up, even if it means scraping together bits and pieces, and go with a private owner if you're looking to get a vehicle. Don't go with these people. They'll burn you in no time if you're not careful.

Some of these post seem like one off's or something. Every loan company I dealt with, as long as you paid your bill you were good. I just finished up with my Bankruptcy that month and they approved me. Yes my rate is high but I have been at that rate for yrs due to my credit. I have had my car for about 6-8 months and I have never had an issue with them...

I have been with them for a few years and today I am upset over the customer service I received. I pay on time and just needed clarification on my account balances since it was showing me a different amount on my statement, online, and what the representative Maria via chat stated, she was rude and very unpleasant.. she kept asking me what my question was... and then told me what my pay off amount would be... I didn’t ask for that...also funny thing my pay off loan amount didn’t match any of my 3 balances! Please work on getting better customer service. That is all. Good day.

I wish I could give ZERO stars. I'm usually not one to complain, but this company is GARBAGE!!!! I drove all the way from North Carolina to New Jersey to get a vehicle, and the dealership I dealt with in NJ went through Sierra Auto to get a loan for me. Got approved, got the loan, drove the car back home to NC. A week LATER, I get a call from the dealership saying that Sierra kicked the loan back because I work at a dealership as my job. The car was clearly for me, my check stubs that were used and presented to Sierra for "proof of income" clearly had my dealerships name on it, and yet nothing was said until a week later. I work in a dealership and have many coworkers who have their cars from other dealerships, but it is a "conflict on interest"? SO I guess people who work in dealerships don't need cars to drive? Interesting. If you work at a dealership, DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME!!!
