Update: The AVP Gerard and Assistant Mgr Tiffany were a major help in resolving the issue in a superb timely manner. Thank You So Much..! Only reason I don’t update to 4 or 5 stars is because the Branch Mgr wasn’t the one to be proactive and handle the situation or the one to go the distance to make it right… Accountability and Actions go hand in hand. Just completely absurd. I went to deposit certified money orders into an account I opened 2 weeks, and they told me my checks would have to be placed on a 7 day hold. Which is a LIE!! Mind you I have previous accounts, enough funds to cover the checks and my mortgage there. The initial deposit was made without a hold, then the incompetency of the supervisor manually put a hold on the back end. When I asked her multiple times if the hold can be overridden, she wouldn’t answer like a politician, and said kept saying it a new account. She then went to the mgr, who I guess was too lazy to do her due diligence, and make a simple judgement call to release manual hold. Simple lack of ethical practice and integrity.

I went into the branch this past Saturday to discuss questions regarding my credit card APR after being directed by the SSFCU call center. I spent just under two hours with various reps (all kind, but not always helpful) the day before trying to get a few different issues sorted. In the end, I was directed here. Celia helped me and went above and beyond! Besides being a total sweetheart, she was extremely personable, professional, and understood my concerns/frustrations. Although she wasn't able to directly resolve my issue, she did take the initiative to circumvent further frustration and got the ball rolling with the correct department. She even made sure to provide me with direct names and phone numbers so that I could continue to follow up. SSFCU has been my bank since I was 18, and I've definitely had my ups and downs with them. My experience this Saturday with Celia is precisely why I continue to bank with SSFCU and trust that no matter what life throws my way, I have a team who will truly support me through it. My mother and I met Amina at the Jones Maltsberger location as a result of fraud occurring on my mother's account. While the process was stressful Amina made us feel at ease, processed a fraud claim and gave us step by step instructions on the next steps to take. Today I had a pretty serious issue pop up with Identity Theft. Fearing that my account could be compromised I came in to get help. I waited for less than a minute before I was assisted by Connie Sanchez. She was extremely understanding and helpful in calming my fears and setting me up with new accounts and informing me about the identity protection resource that comes with my account. This issue dominated my thoughts today but Connie was incredibly helpful and worked quickly to restore confidence in the security of my accounts. I’m very thankful.
