Santander Bank Branch Stuyvesant Ave, Union

Dropped in b/c i was in the area and had a check to cash...Not my normal bank....No parking when I went there... Poor customer service.

Cashiers at this branch are excellent, Brian Duarte was very disrespectful, not willing to help me and also look down on me when l was at the bank for transaction. Poor customer service.

Staff there are patient and really eager to solve problems! The environment itself is lovely, calm and welcoming!

I had an account at this bank for more than 3 years, and about a month ago I went to close the checking and savings account. They returned the money I had in the account and I left. A month later, the owner of the house where I lived, gave me some papers from the bank that had arrived (because I moved after having closed the accounts at the bank), I checked and it appears that I have an overdraft for three transactions. I went to the bank and they told me that the checking account is still active and that I have to pay about $90 for the transactions and a $130 penalty for a total of $221. It doesn't make sense because at the time of canceling the accounts they asked me; savings account and checking and I said yes, they did it and I signed two copies and at no time did they tell me that it was not possible nor did they explain anything else to me. So now that I left I had to pay all that and I have to come back another day to close the checking account when in fact it was supposed to have been done. The transactions that appear to me are dated before I asked for my accounts to be closed.
