I have had good amount of financings through out my life. All have something in common, it always feels like a “Tom and Jerry” game where lender chasing the borrower for any pitfalls throughout the process; and borrower act to stay clean. That is what I have been used to, as far as lending process goes. However, the process with Sandy Spring Bank was different. I went through a construction loan which was supposed to be extremely more difficult than the regular mortgage; it was not true in this specific case. The process was simple and not an intimidating one at all. I wasn’t too sure if it is the Bank policy or the agent that I worked with, Jessica Perry. Jessica is an amazing person. She will let you feel part of the process and at times she make you feel you’re the boss. This is the only time where I wasn’t not afraid or scared of the underwriter. She breakdown everything upfront and you would know what is expected from you a head of the game. During the last interest rate hike, I was extremely busy in life and didn’t pay attention. Jessica brought the anticipated change to my attention; and with my consent she locked the rate for me. With in a week the rate was changed and I was able to secure the lowest rate that this pandemic had brought; thanks for my agent. Jessica saved me thousands of dollars just by doing that. I was also about to get tricked with the builder that I was dealing with. On the master contract of the construction agreement, the builder missed to sign certain pages, not sure if it was intentional or not. I had that document for well over a month and was comfortable with this contract until it met Jessica and her team. They were able to pinpoint those missed signatures and sort of enforce the builder to sign those missed signatures. Surprisingly, the builder was hesitant to sign it first though he finally did it. I highly recommended Jessica for any construction loan, or any mortgages for that matter. You will be in good hands for real. Assefa D
