If I could, I would rate it even lower than one star. I've used Rudy's several times before, but the most recent time I went really takes the cake. I am not very picky when it comes to my hair. Long on top and short on the sides. I've been trying to grow my hair out, and the "stylist" took their clippers and sheared off the back of my hair. That's it. Nothing else was done to my hair. They seemed to be too preoccupied about their birthday plans that week to care about a quality haircut. I walked out feeling awful about the experience I just had. I'm giving one star, because no one should feel worse about their hair after paying to have it done.

I've been going to Rudy's for a long time. Lately I've had nothing but bad experiences. For starters let's be clear that "level 2" really means: beginner/ zero to some experience/ brand new. "Level 1" doesn't exist at Rudy's. If you upgrade to "level 3" you'll most likely get a decent cut but just know that if you go with a 2 it's a complete roll of the dice. They have at least 20 "stylists" rotating through but only 4 or 5 of them are any good. Personally I'm done rolling the dice at Rudy's.

Would avoid at all times. Got the worst haircut of my life (long hair - woman). I asked for a haircut to my collarbone, it was 2 inches shorter than that and I now have a haircut that looks like I am 5 y/o. Worst was that I got home and everyone around me has told me it looks uneven, not just between the sides but with parts that are significantly uneven in the back. The hair dresser seemed disengaged and at the end I just wanted to get out before she made a bigger mess. I am going to a different hair salon today to get my hair fixed. They do offer you to come in within a week to get it fixed but I cannot trust any of their employees if they allow this low level. Their standard offer of getting a bad hair cut fixed within a week suggest they have many of these situations with very unhappy customers.

Olivia was fantastic! She gave a great haircut and I felt very comfortable. Rudy's is really cool space and I love the vibe. I will be going back for more cuts here. I would definitely recommend this place!

I always walk out of here in a better mood than when I enter. Hyeri is amazing. Before Rudy's, getting my haircut felt like a chore.

Had a stylist named Anna cut my hair. Not only did she not seem friendly, she hated on tech workers saying that they have ruined Seattle's culture. Know your customers when they're the ones keeping the lights on and paying your wage. Certainly will not be returning to this location.

Rudy's franchises vary a bit, and this is one of the best. Great customer service, great cuts and they adhere to current safety regulations. If you need someone to recover your hair from the self-sabotage you've been doing the last year out of desperation these folks have got you.

If you’re looking for a fast decent haircut with no frills or focus. This is your place. Felt like I was there to be a chair to get flipped. I suppose I’m just comparing to my old barbershop well it was a bit slowed down, with more focus, more comfort and more service for half the price. It makes it hard to justify coming back to Rudy’s Barbershop.

Quick and safe experience. Cut was good. I was even admiring it in the mirror some time after the cut. Conversation was good—Jake was collaborative on the hair style, open about his viewpoints and respectful of mine.

I really enjoy this place! A lot of good conversations I've had with hair stylist! They always do what I ask and offer recommendations when I'm at a stand still. They even have good A/C so summer time haircuts feel even better! I've seen a hand full of stylist here, but Anna has always done a great job and made me feel comfortable with how I look! Keep up the great work Anna and Ruddies in general! Don't be a fool and expect a walk in apt, use their awesome online scheduling tool!

Had Hyeri cut my hair, gave her a reference photo and she absolutely nailed it. SO says it’s the best haircut I’ve ever had. Gotten multiple unsolicited compliments in the past few days. Highly recommend.

I was 15 minutes late to my appointment I called them to let them know I was late as I needed to put my kid to bed before my haircut appointment. When I arrived they just charged me the full price of the haircut and wanted me to schedule for another day. Never ever use Rudy's.

I've been to Rudy's several times over the years and it's too overpriced for the constant hit and miss quality. My girlfriend and I both got haircuts and were both disappointed on the drive home. The barber she had did not deliver on what she wanted and hid his mistakes by styling her hair in a way that it looked completely un natural for her hair type. The barber I had put almost no effort into my haircut compared to the barber I had at my last visit. For reference, last time I was in the chair for around 30 minutes and saw the whole process. This time I was there for about 10-15. The whole thing felt rushed and it shows. The total was 91$ without tax.

I’ve had two haircuts at Rudy’s, one at Ballard, and thought it was a quirky but interesting place. Each took about 20 minutes, but nice haircuts and trendy for a 66 year old guy. Tonight in the rain we took a wrong turn and the app said we’d be 11 minutes late. I called to let them know and the woman who answered said to reschedule. I protested because we live in a remote area, hard to get anywhere, and she put someone else on. I said I was literally outside the door and she said, “well, you can reschedule for another day on the phone or you can come in and reschedule, but we’re fully booked and I can’t accommodate you for tonight. “ I offered to have a quick cut (I have straight mousy hair) and she still said no. In the time they were intent on refusing me they could have cut my hair! No amount of begging changed her mind. I treat patients for a living and I ALWAYS accommodate someone who’s late. I told them I wouldn’t be coming back.

Due to the busy holiday season and the high demand for haircuts we’re 100% booked and don’t have much wiggle room in our scheduling. We do have a 5 minute grace period that we alert clients of upon booking their appointments but unfortunately cannot accommodate lateness beyond that. We take pride in the quality of our haircuts and make sure to devote the full appointment time to each client so doing a “quick cut” is not as easily accomplished as one would think, each cut takes the time that it takes; and we want you to look good when you leave. I’ve gone to the Columbia City location for the last few months to get my undercut done. Every stylist that has cut my hair here has been so thorough and they’ve all taken their time to make sure my undercut looks clean and even. The place itself is wonderful - scheduling is easy, the space is kept clean, and there’s usually a staff member’s dog there to love up on you!

An unbelievable disappointment. I live a block away from the location and was treated in such a disrespectful manner. The manager at this location screamed at me for not having a mask (fine). I politely apologized and asked if they had any available I could wear. Without hesitation the women said "you need get out of my store right now" very loudly. As I'm walking out, I said I live less than a block away and kindly offered to run home, grab a mask and would return in less than 5 minutes. She said "nope that's unacceptable get out of my store now" and proceeded to push me out. Push me.. While I'm 2 ft from the entrance. Since she treated me so unprofessionally, I had a feeling she was ready to charge me for the haircut... It's important to note, there is nothing in the confirmation email stating a mask requirement. A business has every right to require one but without a state mandate should make it clear to their customers. I felt so uncomfortable with the situation and at this stage just wanted to make sure she wouldn't charge me for the haircut. I opened the door up, didn't walk inside and asked if she was charging me today. Her response, "yes you are getting charged that is the policy." Unbelievable. Not at any point was there a "sorry" a "please" absolutely nothing. Even if she spoke to me calmly without being polite that would of been enough for me to not proceed further.. This is my first google review as I've never felt the need to write something negative about a business. I tried to get in contact with the District Manager "Nicholas Fenton" who decided not to reply. The location looks modern and they market themselves well. I had high hopes but would never return. If you are looking for a haircut in Ballard, I encourage you, go somewhere else..

I booked a walk in hair cut after finally hitting my limit with my Covid grow out hair. First time I had visited a Rudy's and just found the closest shop with a day-of appointment. And OMYGOSH!!! Frankie not only gave me the best hair cut for an amazing price (and on short notice), she was super personable and professional! She listened to my hair concerns and answered my questions. All the staff were great, and sensitive to Covid concerns with mask requirements and constant sanitizing. 11/10 know where I am going for my next cut!

Friendly place to get a quick haircut, at least for guys. Allie in Ballard is excellent. Been going here for many years now and then. Almost always consistently good. Nice location on Ballard Ave. Grab a drink next door if you like!

Efficient, nice and professional. My hair was done with little to no ado about much of anything. Everyone present was appropriately garbed with facemasks and during the time to trim around my ears, she simply asked that I hold onto my facemask to support it staying up. The price is competitive and fair and overall, I'm pretty happy with my experience.

I can’t say I’m happy with haircut prices in Seattle, but it’s not the business’ fault. It’s the market for a haircut these days in our city. That being said, Rudy’s in Ballard is always super punctual and quick. I make an appointment online and they’re ready for me when that appointment time comes. My haircut isn’t very complicated, but they get me in and out in 20 minutes with a very pleasant conversation, and that is just the way I like it. I have a one year old so I got things to do! I don’t select the same stylist online, I let Rudy’s choose them for me and every time, no matter who cuts my hair, it turns out excellent. Everyone is very friendly and I’m always 100% satisfied with my cut.

My friend and I went here to cuts and color. Both of our stylist's were amazing! My friend was super happy with her short bob, and the customer service. I saw Dylan, who is absolutely fantastic to work with. Dylan did a nice layered long cut for me, and an ultra creative rosey gold color that I have gotten at least a dozen compliments in the day I have had it. All of the staff members are super friendly. I highly recommend Rudy's, and especially Dylan!
