Last time I checked if a product has a manufacturers warranty for 3 years and is replaced within 3 years the new product has a completely different warranty unless otherwise stated on the product or in the paperwork. River City Ford obviously disagrees with that, although the sticker on the battery clearly states it has a 36 month FREE replacement and a 37-100 month customer pays pro-rated charge. The battery in question was put in the vehicle on 12/06/2016 and the paperwork doesn't show anything about 36,000 mile limit on replacement if it becomes defective within the 3 years. They claim that due to the battery being replaced under the 3 year 36,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty, that comes with every car, it doesn’t have a warranty. Keep in mind if my hot water tank goes out within the 5 year warranty and they replace it, the new replacement carries a separate 5 year warranty. Or if I purchased a car part that has a warranty and it becomes defective within that timeframe the new replacement part has its own separate warranty. I can tell you from the experience I had in 2016 with the brakes having issues from the moment she purchased the car and the battery issue then, which she had to pay $95 to have those issues fixed bc they argued with me for 3 months over the brakes so it ruined the rotors as well, I would not recommend purchasing anything from this dealership. Boyd County Ford as well as South Point Ford have both stated if the work had been done there they would have no issue just replacing the battery since it is clearly within the 3 year FREE REPLACEMENT period. However, River City Ford is trying to make me pay $80 for them to replace something that is under warranty according to the product itself. So We obviously will not be purchasing any future vehicles from River City Ford. You should always inform your customer of things that affect them, but when you fail to do so you should always make it right. That hateful service manager should never get loud with a customer. In the position of management you should always remain calm and professional, but claiming I caused a scene is a complete lie. Had I caused a scene you would know it. The gentlemen that was standing outside of the garage door to the service center made a comment regarding her attitude as I was standing there waiting for the vehicle to be brought out of the garage. I’m not the only one who had an issue with her attitude, and had someone on the phone with me that heard how rude she was. She’s rude and disrespectful, but if you ask to speak with her boss she will say she’s the highest one there. I asked for her general manager and she responded by saying I’m the highest person you will be speaking to because it’s my department. The place of business, if you want to call it that, has the ABSOLUTE WORST customer service and business practices!!!! NEVER AGAIN WILL THEY GET MINE OR MY ANYONE IN MY FAMILYS MONEY! I do have a picture of the battery showing the warranty information and the paperwork from the initial installation. The first battery only lasted from 2014 when the car was made until December 2016. The second battery only lasted from December 2016 until October 2019. UPDATE. The general manager would not return my calls on Wednesday or Thursday and was conveniently unavailable Friday morning. So on Friday I finally had no choice but to let my mom pay almost $85 for the battery due to the fact they were not going to honor the warranty the battery promised. However, once I called to speak with the service director I was informed that due to my initial post and negative review on Google they wouldn’t be able to help me. They would only honor that offer if the post was removed. I did remove the negative review originally, but I feel it is unfair that they feel they can pretty much blackmail me into removing my personal experience with their dealership when the issue was not resolved to my satisfaction. Based on how long these batteries from the dealership are lasting I highly doubt this one will last long either.
Courtney, I am deeply saddened at some of the language that you used in this reference. We are in an imperfect world and unfortunately your battery began to fail nearly 3 years and almost 70,000 miles after it was replaced for free. We offered you several options for replacing it and unfortunately none of these options pleased you. You resorted to calling our employees who are good family people inappropriate names. We do not understand your verbal abuse and to be frank, don't appreciate it at all. We value all of our customers but there are some customers in our business that, at times no matter what we do we cannot make happy. Our goal is to satisfy any and every one that comes to the store and we greatly appreciate the opportunity but this is one of those rare instances where a customer who has purchased from us we cannot reach an agreement with. We wish you the best in your future endeavors. If given the chance hopefully we can help you again under better circumstances for us all.

I was treated with such respect today at this dealership. I spoke with them by phone earlier in the week and was so impressed that I drove from Morehead,Ky. It was well worth the drive. They got me financed in a nearly new vehicle with the most Amazing price & payment. The owner & salesman were so nice. Excellent service! My husband and I had never gone through the process of buying a car together and wanted to establish joint credit with each other. Louie made this so easy for us. He actually made what had been a frustrating process at other dealerships and turned it into an enjoyable process. First thing is they were honest. So many other dealerships lied to us about having the vehicle we wanted and telling us were approved just to get us in the door only to let us down when we arrived. They either did not have the car or could not get us approved. Louie was great to work with and kept his word and said he would get the vehicle and sent us pics so we knew it was there. Jeremy in financial was an absolute joy to work with as well. Seems cliche to say but we really felt like we knew them a lot longer than one day. It’s still a business but our new Escape will be transporting our most precious cargo, our baby on the way, our son and my husband. Thanks again to everyone there for being awesome.

Was interested in a vehicle they had and spoke to them and was told vehicle was still available. Drove 45 minutes and was told when we were 10 minutes from dealership it was still available. Got there and found out someone was already there and had been for over 30 minutes to purchase same vehicle. We went ahead and did an app and asked them not to run credit till we knew it said vehicle was purchased and they ran it anyway. A hard inquiry for nothing. Was very disappointed in the service there. Will definitely go elsewhere to purchase my vehicles.

My credit wasn't exactly the best and that had caused some difficulty in getting a car previously at other other dealerships. Reached out to River City and got a response super fast! Their sales rep Homer helped me get a great truck (much better than I hoped for) with zero down, same day! After struggling with my credit score and being turned town at other dealerships I never imagined I'd be able to walk out with such a great truck. So thankful to the great reps at River City! I searched 6 other dealerships closer to me and River City Ford had the best price on the truck I wanted. Additionally, the buying and trade-in experience was also one of low pressure and no surprises. Homer, my salesman made this experience even less stressful. This was a disastrous first car buying experience to say the least. The only positive thing I would have to say would be, the initial salesman, who presented and handled himself professionally. Everything beyond that was a joke. They first quoted some ungodly interest rate at 22% and tried convincing me it was a good deal. Of course I denied and left. The following day they call and offer an interest rate of 1.89% which is entirely impossible. I come in to purchase the car at this steal of a price, which I might add, was after they said they put a sold sign on the car and were going to have it detailed and ready to go for me. Long story short, I get there and the deal of the century was of course too good to be true. They ironically got an offer on this car that had been on the lot for 150+ days as I was on my way to pick it up and they sold it before I arrived. So from what I gather from this horrific experience is they will tell you what you want to hear in order to get your foot in the door so they can sell you everything that you’re not looking for. Absolutely terrible.

After a 3 hour trip I had an exceptional experience here buying my new vehicle after being denied by multiple dealerships. Grant was able to find a truck that met all my needs at great price. They promised me I was approved and delivered as they said they would. "We say yes" is what they told me and they proved it when others told me “no”. They followed up their promise. Grant was awesome, friendly, and genuine . He took lots of time taking care of the fine details and made a great deal happen. The manager Jeremy made sure I was totally satisfied multiple times and made sure my experience was pleasurable. I am grateful and thankful to have seen their ad because I thought no one would ever get me approved. I definitely will be a customer for life even thought I live in Blacksburg VA, go Hokies! Worked hard to help us get to a payment we were happy with. Helped us learn all the details of the new car. But on another note. When test driving the vehicle the check engine light came on and was told it was fine to test drive. The vehicle already had 390 miles on it when we test drove it.Once at the lot It was taken to service and they said there was no code and the light was off. 6 days later after purchasing the vehicle the check engine came back on. It was taking back to the dealer where they cleared the code and blow out a part and said it would be fine and that fixed the problem the was code P0010 Cam Position Actuator. Upon inspecting the vehicle it was discovered there was a crack in the windshield around the rear view mirror in the back part (390 miles on the vehicle that was sold as new not used and not a dealer demo ) we was told ford would not take care of it. On top of all of that we discovered the oil life remaining was 53% on the vehicle that was sold as new. It was serviced by the the dealer and then tried to charge us for a oil change on a vehicle that was sold as new 6 days earlier.

I had a great experience at River City Ford today. I was not convinced I would get approved even though they told me I was but after tacking a chance I went ahead and drove almost 200 miles and was prepared to be let down again by yet another dealership. I could not have been more wrong. I really wanted a used Camaro and did not get one but I did get to drive a brand new Escape home which is probably more practical for me anyways. The entire team seemed friendly and ready to help. I had been let down by some dealers in my hometown and asked Jeremy if the Escape was really mine to keep and he assured me that if I made my payments on time that I could keep it. I am still in shock. Thank you Jeremy and Louie so much.

Modern facility that appears to be well maintained and clean (very important to me). Roomy restrooms. Friendly staff and they seemed genuinely interested in helping me find the right car with the payment I could afford. My credit wasn't the best but I'm happy to be on my way to rebuilding it. This is one of the most professional dealerships that I've, personally, ever dealt with. The sales associate that assisted me was extremely knowledgeable and polite. I was back and forth between 2 different cars, and he was very patient with explaining the benefits and differences between the two. To top it off, once it was time to talk numbers, the finance manager was just as great! He made sure that I knew, and understood, 100% of everything on the confusing paperwork. When I left, I felt great about my new Fusion, as well as what they gave me for my used trade in. Thank you River City for an awesome experience! Would highly recommend to anyone! 10 STARS!!!!!

Went River City Ford to look at a preowned truck,when i got there i was meet by a nice sales rep in the name of Louie, we looked at the preowned truck that i wanted but after talking to him found a Brand New F-150 that was within a couple hundred $'s of te used one. Was told we were approved for a vehicle over the phone and online and was told no money down drove an hour to get there and was told we were not approved would not recommend them to anyone lying bunch

Just purchased my new (preowned) F-150 from here. Pete took outstanding care of me. I brought my daughter and her husband here four months ago and he took his time with them and made them feel very comfortable. This is why I came to see him again. Got the great attention from him again. Stayed at my pace and didn't rush me like you find at some dealerships. His follow up is on point! My daughter and her husband still get occasional hellos from him. I'll be back to see him when I need my next car.

I loved shopping at River City Ford! Best buying experience I've ever had. My salesman, Louie Morgan, was a kind gentleman to work with. He made me feel comfortable and made me feel like my opinion mattered. I had been to a few dealerships that did not take me seriously. He explained the entire process to me so I knew what to expect. The deal he gave me was very fair. He took the time after the deal was complete to teach me about the features of my new F-150 (yes women drive trucks too). Other Ford dealers should take some training from this dealership and realize that women CAN make decisions on their own without their husband or partner with them. I will add that is is the cleanest dealership I have visited and that was a huge plus to me. I had been in a few showrooms that did not look like they had been well maintained and to me, that makes me feel like they may not take good care of their customers. They were very busy but I did not feel rushed. My only suggestion would be to have a charging station for smart devices. I will have no problem recommending my clients to them should they be looking for a vehicle. I also LOVE my touchscreen when my phone is hooked up to it, it's amazing!

Service department is excellent. I have a 2012 Ford Focus that has had issues with the transmission stuttering for quite some time. I bought the car new from a different dealership. When I couldn't get any resolution at the dealership that sold me the car, I decided to try River City. They were easy to work with and did an excellent job making the necessary repairs. Great overall experience.

First dealership I visited where I was treated like an independent free thinking female. My husband and I are both self sufficient and can make our own decisions without one another. Others dealers treated me like I could not purchase without my husband present, which I found strange being that I made it clear the vehicle was for me, not my husband. Louie went out of his way to find me an Escape in the exact color I desired. He was knowledgeable, courteous, and very kind. All of the staff I encountered was so friendly and the prices were very competitive for the particular Escape I was looking for. It was a great car buying experience.

I have been having conversations over the phone the past couple of days with the dealership over a vehicle. Today was the last one I will have since we couldn't come to an agreement over a $60 difference in payment. There was no meeting in the middle. I had a price and they had a price and there was no compromise. But in the end there was no deal. So thank you to River City Ford for the opportunity to try to give you business. Hopefully in the future we can try to work a deal somehow.

I am always met with a big smile, they always give me direct answers to my questions when I ask them. They don't tell me it will take 30 minutes when it might be actually 90 minutes, they give me very good estimates. When major work is necessary they offer to take me to work or home for free instead of having to wait even just a couple of hours. I have a Hybrid Fusion with 100K miles and yet the car still runs like a dream and still has the original brakes. Point being they don't mislead me and sell me service I don't need. No need for me to go anywhere else. I have bought 3 cars here and intend to buy all future cars here as well.

I was ensured via phone and email that my husband and I were approved for anything on the lot with zero down. We drove 2.5 hours one way, waited 2 hours once we got there, and then was told we needed a huge down payment or a co signer. They lied to us in so many ways and made up excuses for their lies. I would avoid this place and not make the drive if you have a long drive bc they will lie to get you there and then not help you
