    Radius Bank Reviews

This has been one of the worst experiences I have ever had with any company, not just banks. Their customer service team doesn't communicate across platforms (phone, web chat) and never responds to requests. I've received different information each time I have spoken with someone, and they have locked my account and access to my money because of incorrect information they gave me regarding a transfer. This bank masquerades as an innovative technology focused bank, but they are much worse than the larger institutions already out there. I would highly encourage everyone to stay far, far away from them. There are simply too many viable options out there to deal with their incompetence.

Has potential, but it's not there yet. Fee wise they're great. Technology / support (availability) wise, they're terrible. 1.) No 24/7 customer support. 2.) There are 2 apps -- one to manage your accounts, and one strictly for viewing your debit card transactions and turning your cards on and off. The latter is extremely buggy and crashes regularly when trying to view transactions. Essentially unusable other than as a way to turn your debit card on or off. 3.) Their fraud system is a joke.... Instead of texting you and asking you if it a transaction is fraudulent -- giving you the chance to reply "yes" or "no" like literally every other modern bank or credit card company does before they shut your card off -- they shut your card off FIRST and then make you call a 1-800 number with an outdated robot handling things. That's fine if the 1-800 number system actually works -- but it doesn't. After calling the number, it tries to locate your account by the phone number you're calling from -- which it fails to do. Manually entering your phone number results in a response of "we're sorry, no active fraud alert can be found". No problem, right? Let's just contact a human and have them help. Oh wait, they don't have 24/7 customer support. So now you're stuck with a locked debit card until further notice with no way of getting in touch with a human from the bank if it's outside of their support hours. I've had this account for less than a year, and this has already happened twice. Both times I found out by getting rejected at the register of a store trying to pay for items I had more than enough money to cover.

I began the process of moving our personal finances to Radius Bank, ignoring red flags raised by the poorly performing website and challenges in setting up the account. Our credit rating hovers around 800 - we are used to being greeted with open arms. In the past few weeks, I spent hours redirecting automated transactions. Friday I used Radius's system to transfer $5000 from another bank to cover them. Monday, I made a mobile deposit of $720. That evening, at an ATM, I found my account had been locked down due to those money transfers, which Radius deemed suspicious. Since I was also blocked from the account, I couldn't see any activity, so had no idea what was being taken out. After two full hours on the phone (during which I was told the account was overdrawn, then that it wasn't but the $5000 was on hold until the review was complete, then put on hold for half an hour for a supervisor.) Despite repeated requests, I have been given no timeline as far as when I can get into or use the account. Since all my bill-paying assets are now in this account, I have a real problem. Really, we are not laundering money - just trying to pay our bills. Nothing the bank could do now would convince me to continue using its services.

I can't believe all the low stars! Are you kidding me people! WOW! I have always loved this bank, but I needed to post this because I am just really impressed! I have had the bank for sometime now, they are fabulous and offer great benefits and perks to their customers, their online suite of tools is great to. They are just so human, real people, who really care. Well today that caring went into full play. I had experienced a problem with a transaction on my account, Every step of the way I was helped and didn't feel alone. Bianca from Radius worked with me to help and resolve the problem, she was even on the phone with myself and the merchant and stuck up for me. She basically saved my life! I can't say enough about how wonderful this bank is, how wonderful their customer service is and has always been. If your looking for a bank with people who care about you and your financial well being. Bank here! Thank You Radius - I Love YOU!!!

    Response from the owner

Thank you, Bradford! We really do care about each client and are so happy to hear about your experience. Thank YOU for choosing us! :)

This review is for the SBA Lending Division of this bank. One star is too many. This bank is dishonest and frankly terrible. Examples: 1. When COVID hit, I contacted them to request a 90 day payment deferral because my business had to close. It was approved, documented, signed, and returned to the bank. Six weeks later, and only when reviewing my statement, I discover they CHOSE not to provide the deferral because a new gov't program kicked in. The problem is the new program was designed to work WITH the deferral, but they chose to ignore the documents we signed without telling me. When that gov't program ended, I had to reapply for the deferral that was already approved. More than a month later, crickets. 2. Few years ago: The loan documents THEY prepared said I could cancel automatic payments. When I wrote them to do that, they refused. Many emails to all kinds of managers and they just kept refusing to do what the loan agreement THEY wrote said I can do. BTW, I was never late with a payment. I just wanted more control over the exact payment date. The pattern at this bank is clear. Do right for Radius first.

I've been using Radius Bank for the last three years. I was initially attracted to the great savings interest rate but have been impressed as they've added more features. The website is super easy to use. I had a major issue with another bank that meant I needed to access funds in a hurry. I was on the phone with several times to try and get everything sorted out and everybody I talked with was super friendly and helpful.

They were fine as a Credit Union. Now they are completely lost trying to be a bank. The customer service is so bad, they are not even capable of introducing themselves by name. Blind transfers, dropped phone calls, no callbacks when requested. Pennsylvania-based call center is completely unprofessional. The recent "great" new online banking software is full of bugs that had been reported and never fixed. They also recently cutely went to "no cash" branch, so, no, you can not get cash other than a few hundred dollars at an ATM. So the whole idea of them being local is moot now. The good part? Well, it's all in theory. In theory, they are the little old fashioned local bank that you can talk to, that knows your name. In reality it appears to be a fake company with absolutely no interest in their customers or doing anything right. I've been their customer for 10+ years. I think I've come to the end of the road with them. This is worse than BofA and that's saying a lot. The most atrocious, horrible, unprofessional organization I've had a misfortune of dealing with in the last several years. Best of luck to them with their little "business".

I agree with the other 1 star reviews. I opened up a Business account. They were not able to increase my mobile deposit limit above my average check amount. They would not even accept my previous bank history or credit score (in 800's) as a reason to increase. They simply said upper management said no. And they wouldn't allow me to talk to upper management. Therefore they lost my business. Perfect example of a company caring about process over people. Go somewhere else.

The worst bank I have ever seen, at first they are nice, very easy to open an account there, but after a few weeks they closed my account took the money, so I did an internet search and saw already they are known to do such things, frustrate at BBB and some other sites, very Highly not recommended. They are also big liars promising to come back and never come back on the phone. They are wicked and have no heart.

I have never written a review before, but am so livid- if I could give this bank zero stars, I would. I was transferred to Radius from aspiration, and have only ever tried to use this account to pay my credit card bill. Every charge I have ever tried to use with this account has been declined, and reprocessed several times before finally going through. They say this is because my account did not have the right amount, but all the amounts I paid were based on the account balance shown online. I expect my bank to at the very least be able to keep track of money, and process it. Literally the worst and most ridiculous banking experience I have ever experienced. I have lost so much money in returned payment fees because of this banks complete incompetence.

My initial set-up was difficult due to the use of small community banks not being options for the quick set-up offered when you hold a large well known banks on the screen. I was able to get past that. After the initial set-up, I have been very happy. I travel 95% of the time for work. I can now use any ATM that is available at the time without any worry of the fees. Several phone encounters for small problems have been pleasant & resolved issues quickly. My only complaints are the times available for online chat should be expanded, and teller's checks should be sent to the person I need to pay instead of sent to my home address that I rarely am at. I am so happy with my choice to move to Radius Bank. I am just shocked by the bad reviews.

This bank is the worse. The people that work there give attitude all the time, when you call now for appointments to take your own money out, they do not pick up and still give attitude. My mom went there to pick up a money order for rent and they gave her a hard time. She called ahead of of time and they lied saying she never did and gave her attitude the whole time. The most unprofessional people ever! The customer service is trash here.

I just got off the phone with someone at Radius bank because I had some trouble with my online account. They handled my situation so well and we’re so nice throughout the call. I have had a lot of bad experiences with my other banks and their customer service so this was quite a surprise. Thank you Radius, you have a great bank and a great customer service team!

This is the worst online banking I have ever dealt with. I got stuck with this bank when aspiration kicked me off their rolls for having too much money in my account (go figure). Luckily when aspiration retooled I was able to start again but kept radius for for the continuity of paying all my bills. No more! Now I am completely frustrated with trying to bank online. There was a mix up with a payment and they don't show you what a check payment was for. Just the date and amount so I have no proof to show that I paid this vendor. I'm sure it will get worked out at some point but I don't enjoy spending my time with it all because they can't hire legit coders to do a proper job. You get what you pay for.
