Quicken Loans Mortgage Services Reviews
I
One time, in 2021 I contacted Rocket Mortgage to ask about refinancing options. I was soon bombarded with calls about refinancing. When I told the rep I was no longer interested he insisted that I tell him why! This time March 2022, I did not contact Rocket Mortgage to inquire about refinancing my mortgage, someone called me. That person said that I reached out to Rocket Mortgage to discuss refinancing. No I did not! I said, I was not sure but if I decided to do it, I would 'let you know'. I do not appreciate the repeated calls, leaving voice messages, text messages and sending emails asking me if I have made a decision yet, I find this harassing. then you escalate to a different department who starts with the calling, text messages and emails. I do not feel good about this relationship.

They are great salespeople and fast talkers. I got my approval quickly and then found they charged $500 to my credit card. I asked what this is for and they said they explained it was for the appraisal and it would go towards closing costs. I said I did not commit to getting my mortgage through Quicken. We are building and six months out from locking down any rates or commitments. I said please refund my money and they said we have to keep $80 for the cost of my credit report. The Govt site says that should never cost more than $30. I am a Schwab customer and that's how I got in touch with Quicken. My broker is making me whole because he is honest and knows how to provide great customer service. I am glad I found out how unethical Quicken is very early in the process. I should have know sooner when he said closing costs we next to nothing and the first thing I saw in writing they were over $8000. I am dealing with two other institutions to obtain quotes and they so far have done as much if not more than Quicken and I have not been charged a penny. The rates are better and the closing costs are less. BUYER BEWARE

In my humble OPINION this is a scam. Please do research and review all documents before signing. In my case, they reassured me they would be able to help, haggling me with calls and texts once I inquired online about a refi loan to pay off debt. I finally called back and was initially told there was nothing they could do, probably not enough equity in my home to pay off debt. Then I received a few messages from One of their loan advisors telling me what I was told was incorrect. He reassured me he could find the perfect solution. After bleeding me for information and financial documents he didn’t even have the courtesy to call me back to update me on what if anything he could do. I finally received a loan estimate indicating an anticipated closing cost of $38,000. What a joke! As with any transaction BEWARE!

RocketMortgage / Quicken - great promises and then they waste your time, effort & money! As an existing client and with a score over 800 they offered me a good deal. After supplying all the required paperwork they asked me to pay for an appraisal $695. Then they came back and said they needed more financials because of COVID. I said fine - on one condition, if you back out of this you tell me why. Of course they promised - and lied again. How did I find out I had been declined? I got an email that said "Even though things didn't work out, you can still view your appraisal on Rocket Mortgage" - no call from my supposed consultants. No we need this or if you do that we can make it work - NOTHING! This left me scrambling to get a mortgage by the closing date. Had to get another valuation done as their one was incomplete, no pictures of the back of the house. New appraisal was only $450 so that was another ripp-off. Local mortgage company was far superior, they communicated every step of the way, got me a very similar deal and went over and above to get it done by closing. I have since heard a number of other horror stories about Rocket so do your due diligence. Cannot recommend them at all.

My experience with Quicken Loans / Rocket Mortgage was exceptional (great service, super quick close), except no one showed up on my scheduled date to refinance. I called QL/RM at least 10 times, (disconnected twice) was transferred no less than 7 times and no one knew what happened. Then I was then told I needed to change my closing date (this one had been scheduled a week ahead of time). My husband and I both made sure we stayed home and didnt go in to the office. We had a family member here as a witness, and then the closing attorney didnt show up. Apparently, there was a disconnect between QL/RM and the closing attorney. Changing my date changes ALL the numbers/finances. That is unacceptable and they acted like it was no big deal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is our money, our investment, our time - and NO BIG DEAL?!!! Your closing tem SUCKED! Would not do business with them again

Very disappointed with Quick Loans. They were great at the start to get the loan process moved along quickly. After shopping around I found that they were more expensive in every aspect and decided to go with another loan company. I paid Quicken $500 for an appraisal (don't pay that much, I ended up paying only $430 at another place). Quicken charged my account $500, canceled the appraisal without my authorization or knowledge, and refused to refund me because the appraiser went to the property. When I asked for the appraiser's information to finish the work, Quicken also refused to give me their information. Very poor customer service and communication. They were acting in their best interest and not mine. I had to pay for a whole new appraisal because of this mess. When I asked for the direct number of the Client Relations team member I exchanged email with, I was given the generic 800 number. As a first time home buyer, I have learned that Quicken is quick to make the sell, but they are far more expensive than other companies, and treat you poorly if you decide to go with a less expensive company.

Horrible. I used the Rocket Mortgage tool to get a quote on a cash out refi to shop against a rate I got from a broker and was contacted almost immediately by Adam Brickert even though it was a Friday evening. Good, right? Wrong. The pressure to accept their offer was intense, and while he rattled off the rates, closing cost, etc to me, it took some convincing to get him to send over a fact sheet with all those numbers in black and white so I could compare side by side. Once he agreed, he wanted to call me back in 30 minutes to close the deal. During that 30 minutes, I compared and realized that the closing costs were double with Quicken, the interest rate was virtually the same, and that I’d be getting less cash out. Obviously, it was not a good deal for me, and when he called back I told him so. Then he gave me a spiel about their JD Power rating and fast closing times and asked for a credit card to get the ball rolling. I did not give any payment information, but agreed to think on it overnight. He was clearly annoyed by my hesitations. The next day I called back and told him my final decision was to go with the broker and instead of saying “Ok, have a good day,” he wanted me to give him reasons why and made me feel like I’d regret my choice (which I do not—in addition to lower closing costs, more cash out, and the same rate, my broker has me closing in virtually the same amount of time). TLDR; intense sales tactics for what is ultimately not even a good deal. They don’t want you to do what’s best for you and don’t even pretend to want that. They just want to make the sale. Really would not recommend.

What quicken loans does is short of harassment. I went online out of curiosity as I will be ready to purchase a home within the next year and was just curious to see what rates are and to gauge where I would be with my credit. The very next day a Sunday I received 5 calls. The next Monday I was contacted in the morning and kindly told the gentlemen that I wasn’t ready at the moment. Instead of “saying ok thank you have a great day, when do you think you’ll be ready,” he moved me to another agent who started bombarding me with purchasing questions. I told him the same thing and he then asked me “so why would you be looking up rates online if you weren’t ready.” Truth be told it’s none of his business and I am very familiar with these aggressive tactics to try and get a sale. However, humans are complex beings and should be viewed as more than a sale. Very aggressive cars salesmen behavior.

Hit or miss with your representative for sure. First guy I spoke to over the phone to get pre qualified and to get my rate was great, his name was Kevin Gargano. He answered his emails within the hour and would always pick up the phone. If not I would leave a voicemail and he would call me back. He even scheduled a phone conference for me and my real estate agent. He let me know what papers I needed to send in and was just on top of everything. Now the second guy who was the consultant for the paper work and appraisal is terrible! Patrick Driscoll never answers his direct line and never emails back. I work a 9-5 on weekdays it is hard to give him a call so I try to keep in touch through email during the day. If I had sent an email in the morning I wouldn't get a response until 5 or 6 pm when he was leaving the office for the day. So my question or issue were ever solved on time. Less than a week before my due diligence ended Patrick got in touch with me to tell me that my gift funds will not work. He knew who was giving me the funds from day 1 and I understand he was on vacation or away from the office for almost a week except he never conveyed it even after he returned. Now I am pushing my dates and having a third person wire me gift funds to purchase my home. I highly suggest to request another representative or consultant if they aren't cooperating with you or isn't even returning phone calls. I think the company is great just not always the best workers.

If I could give this company a 1/2 star I would and that would be considered generous. Quicken Loans is never recommended in my book! Nor will I ever EVER be a returning customer. This company has dragged its feet and pushed back our closing date 7 times because they didn't order the necessary items in a timely manner for the underwriters to approve our loan and move forward with the process to close on the day everyone (including the loan officer) agree on! Let me remind you that it is the Loan Officer who sets the closing date. I understand buying a home isn't a smooth transaction but it should not leave a family in a position that Quicken has done to mine! This has left us with not having a roof over our head and the sellers of our potential home highly frustrated with us! The loan officer is never in the office and is on vacation every week. He has fallen short on his end which has become a domino effect leading to the awful situation my family is in! This is unprofessional and I recommend that Quicken look at the quality of their loan officers because laziness is not an asset in this field of business. #NeverUseQuicken

I have been working with Quicken since June 8,2021 and we are now within 3 days of closing only to be told I don't qualify for my loan. They even kept my earnest money. Would not recommend.

Seemed to be discriminated against. My credit (780), income, payment history, etc....is very good. However, recently (2/2021) this company wanted to charge me over $6800.00 in closing cost and then stated, sorry we cannot help you. Granted, I was approved by this company 3 years earlier but something (responses from the rep) magically stopped. I did not reach out to Quicken Loans, they contacted me after I searched for rates online. I mentioned going through the process with Quicken a few years back to the rep that called me and the company still had my information. Afterwards, the rep returned on the phone and said, sorry, we cannot help you. I really think there's an underlying problem.

BEWARE OF QUICKEN LOANS!!! I worked with Drew Thompson for over a week. I have great credit and great income and great debt to income. I have very little debt. No issues getting a loan at all. But these guys claimed they sent me the pre-qualification letter (not verified) so that I can go shopping for houses and put a bid in if I want to. But I was not able to access the letter on their site. Drew said he couldn't do anything about it. Then after a bunch of back and forth and being tugged along, Drew promised to get me the verified letter the other day before he left work for the day, but he never came through. So I tried calling him the next day and found out that he is on vacation for the next week and so I got pushed to his backup person which did not return my call until 9 PM at night! The backup person, Tony Pearce, told me they couldn't get it approved because my 401k showed that it was not fully vested. That is not true. All of my 401k money is 100% vested. But even so, why would that matter at all? I make $130k a year, have 1 house payment and 1 car payment and 2 small credit cards. My debt to income is around 20%. I am very much qualified to afford a 2nd home. I was able to get a pre-qualification letter from another bank on the same day and that evening, I was able to obtain a fully verified preapproval letter. Quicken Loans and their second rate bankers wasted over 1 week of my valuable time for no good reason that I am aware of.

This my first EVER review online as I just had to let other people know the horrible experience all around. To begin they set up my application wrong, approved me and then switched loan officers in middle of relationship. New officer finds mistake and doesn't tell me until 3 days before closing. Basically saying I can't close due to the error they reported on my 1099 income. Then I ask for a appraisal release to terminate the relationship to allow me to close with another lender. They tell me on Sep. 4th it will take 2 business days for the release, then again on the 11th, then once again on the 14th. Today is the 18th and still haven't officially received the release of the appraisal. They have single handled ruined and delayed this closing. Beware. I now come to find out a lot of others have experience issues with Quickens overall mortgage lending experience.

We were looking into refinancing and called several places to get estimates and rates. Quicken Loans will not give you any information until they pull your credit and go far into the process. We were told the rates were extremely competitive and knowing we have impeccable credit we decided to go to the next step. I was completely floored when they tried to charge us almost $16,000 in points, especially after explaining we were only planning on staying in the house 5 to 7 years and wanted zero points. Complete bait and switch, stay away!

This company was decent to work with, then I decided to sell my house. They literally sent the insurance payment to my insurance company after I closed and as I was heading south on that Friday evening, I received an email from them saying I needed to send them back the almost $900 by Monday or they would send back the checks to my lawyer and the sale wouldn't go through. I couldn't speak to my lawyer until Monday. They sent the checks back and it required for us to get an updated payoff statement, which of course, caused me to have to pay more. Their mistake cost me. Absolutely ridiculous! They also, knowing all of this, still threatened to send out a payment for the taxes.

BEWARE buyers and agents! 90 days into a loan process with this company and they still have no clue when we will close. They have closed and reopened the same file, given us 5 different people , (all of whom ae clueless ) to talk too , and delay delay! Let me save you some time. Go for a local lender , that communicates with you and or your agent . Use a bank who knows you , or a local loan officer and steer clear of any1-800 lenders, even if they have nice commercials! You get 0 information from this company.
