Not impressed with this company. They are not for the customer, they are for themselves only. I do not advise anyone to go to the company to handle your money. Any purchase you make does not get updated till two days later, by then your overdrafted. Even if your overdrafted, they will allow you to draft your account up to $700 and expect you to pay that within a month. Within that $700, that’s your account being charged and extra $60 per overdraft. Before I was locked out of my account, with the lack of updating any charge before the two days; I attempted to change my password on the ‘app’. The app said that my password change was complete. I updated my password change in my phone, which deletes the old password; and my password didn’t change after all. So I was locked out without any ability to see my account. The only option was to call in. I’m a third shift worker and by the time I’m waking up, they’re closed. Fort Wayne has a lot of factories surrounding it, so the hours of this federal credit union is not for working people. The only good thing that I have to say about this company is that their atms can give you $5 and $10, if you want a smaller bill than a $20. That’s the only good thing about this company. You can’t change your password without calling them or going in. Any of their services are not user friendly or for the customers. If you want a lock box, ProFed charges by the month. 3Rivers FCU charge for the year with the same prices. Crazy how that is. As soon as I pay off my debt, I’ll be going else where to handle my money.

I love banking here, I opened my account online super convenient, do all my banking though the mobile app, and deposit cash through their ATM. Never had a problem with them. I've never had to go in personally all my issues get resolved with a phone call or through chat.
That's great to hear! Thanks for the positive review, Noemi!

I was told MANY times that I would be able to use the Mobile deposit feature on the app for my checks. But I was just sent an email saying I was denied. So now I’m 200 miles away, and literally cannot cash my checks. I am extremely furious. And of course they have no sister branches in my new city.
Ashley, we are sorry to hear about your experience. One of our member representatives will be reaching out to you shortly regarding the different options we can take to solve this issue.

I have been a member since the 1970's. The best to deal with. I have gotten two car loans (only ever bought two new cars) from them, and direct deposit funds through them also. Such a great place.

I’ve been banking with ProFed for years without issue…however, this year has been horrible! They rolled out a new app that has been a nightmare for everyone. They decided that rolling it out on the first of the month(when everyone’s bills are due) was a good idea. And Every visit I’ve had to a branch always has someone there trying to figure out how to use the app. It’s confusing, not user friendly, and has a really dated look. It’s just bad. And then somehow my card gets hacked so they stop the use of my card. That’s good, except the number that was given to activate my new card wasn’t working and I had to go pick up a different card. Now with my new card I keep getting calls from fraud department asking about my transactions. Like dude, it was my old card number! Then the customer service with fraud says I have to call a different number to dispute the charges. If I didn’t have a mortgage with this bank, I would have closed my accounts.
Hi Seth, we apologize for the trouble you are experiencing with our app and your card. Someone will be reaching out to you shortly.

Since I started my mortgage payments with ProFed, I have almost always enjoyed paying them over the phone, without a fee. Now, with the pandemic, and everyone practicing social distancing, and when paying over the phone can be a tremendous convenience, and more importantly, a tremendous safety benefit for everyone, ProFed starts a $5 fee for over the phone payments!! What a way to take advantage of a desire to be just that much safer! Shame on you, Pro-Fed!! What's the difference in how much work your teller has to do to push the buttons that enter my payment, whether I call it in, whether I'm at the drive up, whether I walk in and speak to a teller, or after I mail in a check? The amount of button pushing effort is the same! The only one who has to do more, and put themselves at higher risk is the customer. Now we're being punished with a $5 fee for the convenience of safety. I primarily stopped banking at Three Rivers Federal Credit Union, because they charge a small fee for nearly everything they do for their members - that's how they can afford these huge new branches that resemble the nicest hospitals. Now ProFed has jumped on that bandwagon as well. I remember when the big sales pitch to join credit unions was to say "We treat you like family! No fees, easy loan rates, blah, blah, blah". Now, many credit unions have learned how easy it is to pull money out of our pockets - and ProFed is no different. In my opinion, it's most shameful to do it at all, but especially now, as most people will still continue to enjoy the safety of paying by phone, except now, pro fed takes advantage of those wanting to protect themselves and others as much as possible by charging a $5 fee. One more note, they never bothered to tell anyone the newly implemented fee was coming. The teller I spoke to about it had the audacity to tell me that they have been waiving the fee due to C-19. I didn't have the heart to tell this uninformed young lady that I was making mortgage payments over the phone BEFORE the pandemic was a thing - for free!! Something so small, yet so ridiculous, is forcing me to consider moving our accounts and loans, including my mortgage, elsewhere. If there's no benefit in being a member, there is no reason to stay. That's why we left one credit union... we can do it again.
Thank you for the feedback, Ken and we apologize for the negative experience. We have refunded the fee and someone from our team has reached out to you to find a resolution.

Great experience with everyone, especially Mel! minus the mortgage department. Edit: Was contacted by someone in the mortgage department about my bad experience. They asked if I would give them another opportunity, which I did. ANOTHER big waste of time. Ended up refinancing elsewhere.
