Presidential Bank East-west Hwy, Bethesda

This is a review of Presidential Bank in general, not necessarily this branch. I absolutely love my bank, which is a weird thing to say. I've never had to wait on the phone more than a few minutes, and I love that their customer service center is open until 10pm. Their high yield interest checking offers one of the most competitive rates in the country, and I like that I get reimbursed when I use any ATM. Overall, I'm really happy with this bank.

I have banked here for many years. Never had any problems. They just installed a new ATM and it looks pretty fancy. Also they keep a nicely stocked candy bowl next to the deposit slips and the branch is located right next to a Starbucks.

We where advised to use presidential through our realtor, who assured us they where personable, friendly, and thorough when establishing a home loan. Unfortunately that was not the case, once established with presidential we found their offices to be rather unorganized, incompetent, and dismissive - which is not what you want from a bank offering home loans. Fast forward - they sold off our loan, which is normal (and quite frankly a relief since i didn't want to deal with them any more), but when it came to our first payment we where a bit confused as to who to send the check to - i asked the senior loan officer who first said 'i don't know', and they finally after i sent him my lettered documents he said to send it to his office.... Turns out he was wrong... as loan officer you think they should know who's getting their money. Once the office received the check and realized it was a mistake, they forwarded the check to the proper bank..... and then lost the check in the mail. Now i am left to deal with the mess. So the long short of it - I'd never recommend Presidential Mortgage to any one who is looking for a home loan - go elsewhere.

Good branch personnel, low interest on deposits,, poor phone service. We've been banking here for over 2 decades and have witnessed the degradation of phone service and the absolute bottoming out of interest paid on checking and savings. They seem to charge fees on everything. Only saving grace is service at Tysons branch.

The staff at Bethesda is very friendly and personable. The Rockville branch is not. The biggest problem is trying to get information in a timely manner. No service after 4 on weekdays, limited online help especially on weekends and later in the evening. After many years of this I am closing my account.

I love this bank because of the staff that works there, the honesty of the business, the no frills approach to fees, the excellent service, and interest gained on my account balance. Thank you!
