OUCU Financial S Shafer St, Athens

Applied for a auto loan Monday 06/06. Did not hear anything until I called Thursday 06/09. Was told by loan officer that we had lack of credit history so it would result in us needing a down payment on a vehicle to be approved, which made no sense as we’ve had active credit history for the last 8 years with no issues. After further look, they had confused my husbands credit with another OUCU member. I’ve left 2 calls and a email and still have not heard back from anyone in regards to the credit issue and how it got so horribly mixed up. Ended up going through a another financial institution for the loan and had no issues on getting approved.

I have been a member of the credit union for more than 30 years. Although I live elsewhere in Ohio, I've maintained my accounts and connections with them due to their knowledge, competitive interest rates, and tremendous customer service. Whenever I've needed to contact them, they've consistently been helpful. Highly recommend!

The people and the service is always top notch. Not only the tellers but the other services. I have taken out several loans such as personal, auto, mortgages, and home equity loans and I have always been treated with respect and always felt comfortable. Keep up the good work.

I love the concept of the credit union and they are important to the Athens community. However, their card services are really substandard. The ability to access your records for the credit card online are haphazard. There had been an extensive history of their debit card system being hacked. The board needs to look into getting a better service provider. Meanwhile be cautious in using their services.

Not a good place for tax return service for international graduate student. Very slow and did not understand the policy. I left my file to them for at least 2 weeks and explained every details they needed to take care in the tax return paper work but they did not take a look at it until i asked my file back and gave me some very ridiculous explanations about the policy which i had explained to them in the beginning. I just want to say if you do not have enough people to finish the projects on time, please do not accept them. So i did not need to visit back and forth to ask whether i could get my paperwork before the deadline. It can save time for both the customer and the financial department employee.

Very poor customer service. Recently sold a vehicle that had a loan with OUCU. The check was overnighted to pay the loan off, was told it would take 2-4 weeks before the check would be processed.

I love the Ohio University Credit Union! I've been a member since I was a kid, and they're always my first choice for anything financial. Particular shout-out to Sammi Johnson, who recently helped us with an auto loan. She was friendly, responsive and super knowledgeable, always happy to answer any questions we had. But everyone at the OUCU is great!

The OU Credit Union is always a great place to bank. They are helpful and kind. Also, if you take your dog through the drive thru they give them a treat. Nice touch but also helps to train your dog not to be afraid of all the noises!

Meticulous monitoring of our accounts, checking with us immediately when fraudulous use of our credit card is suspected. Friendly and helpful even when we've Skyped from overseas. Wouldn't trust anyone else with our money.
