Diana was pleasant. This is my second loan with Oportun and I’ve had no issues. The process is fast and easy. I will definitely be back if I need them again.

I got a letter from Oportun saying I’m pre approved for a loan up to $3,000. I applied and provided a ridiculous amount of documentation that was requested. They also checked my credit which instantly lowered my credit score. All to tell me that I’m not approved. And the customer service I received was awful and very unprofessional. They shouldn’t sending these letters out lying to people. Now they have all my information and I don’t have 1 dollar. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!!!

I’ve gotten loans before with Oportun never had an issue. Until my recent loan back in November of 2020, I got approved waited for my direct deposit 1 week later still nothing. I called they told me to “keep waiting” so I did. 1 MONTH LATER, still nothing I called back everyday after that month and they all told me there’s no answer to what happened!? All we can is “escalate” the situation and wait for a dam resolution. Around mid December 2020 I called back again per usual because every time they told me they’d call back they didn’t. So I made the call and they told me to confirm my bank account. Note they never asked me to confirm my account number before. Turns out they deposited my funds into the wrong account and it was an active account. I called Oportun and they told me they had to wait for a “rejection letter from the bank” I stated you will not be getting a rejection letter due to it being an active account. They still went ahead and “escalated” once again. Basically we’re in January 2021 and STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANYTHING!! now they are charging me and expecting me to pay something I never received. I will take legal action now. I’ve been more then patient, I’m beyond frustrated with the situation now. Every single time I call it’s the same answer, “we’re still waiting for so and so department to give the resolution” when I ask for the department number so I can call myself they tell me they don’t have a phone number??? Again 3 months later and I’m still in square one. No money received no effort to even get a dam resolution. Would never recommend Oportun to anyone!!!!
