    OnPoint Community Credit Union Reviews

I used to be a member when it was Portland Teachers Credit Union and it was great. I have been a member of Onpoint for around 10 years and I have watched them change from the credit union I used to know to a much more ambitious bank. I use the term "bank" because it feels to me like that is what they aspire to become. They are going through a huge expansion by replacing Chase in the Fred Meyer stores. They have become much meaner in enforcing penalty fees and punitive policies when the industry trend is going in the opposite direction. Go ahead and become like the big banks and cause you founders to roll over in their graves. I will find a real community credit union to join.

    Response from the owner

Thanks for sharing your feedback. We understand your concerns and want to assure you that we are dedicated to the same local quality service our members have come to love since our founding as PTCU. In 2021 we took the opportunity to expand to offer more convenient in-person banking services to our community. If possible, we would appreciate an opportunity to discuss your recent account history, including any potential fees you may have incurred. You can request an in-person or phone appointment at your local branch here: https://www.onpointcu.com/schedule/ Or just stop by or give us a call at your earliest convenience. We hope to hear from you soon. Sincerely, -OnPoint

Terrible experience. I went into the Milwaukie branch to ask some questions about an auto/business loan. Maddie was not helpful and definitely not personable. All she did was push me to do an application(which I could have done myself), this was a complete waste of time. I would expect somebody with their own office to be able to explain loan options and try to help the customer in any way possible. I told her that I could put like 20% down and she told me that it didn't matter unless I get approved. She let me know that I have an 800+ credit score, but I knew by her attitude that I wasn't getting approved.

I've always encountered attentive service with a smile, efficiency, and knowledgeable staff. I utilize them for personal and business accounts. Several of my family members also bank here. Here or Bank of the West are excellent options for local banking in the Milwaukie-ish area.

    Response from the owner

Kyleen, Thanks for trusting us with both your personal and business accounts. Your kind words mean the world to our team. We look forward to seeing you again soon! Best, -OnPoint

I made the switch for business banking from B of A to a community credit union because I wanted to support local. Unfortunately I have had nothing but issues from website quirks, and they put very low limits on my account so I can't process daily debits regardless of the amount you hold in your account. If I had to do it over again I would not choose OnPoint. Hopefully this saves some people some trouble as it has been a painful time consuming experience on my end.

    Response from the owner

Forrest, Thank you for sharing your concerns. If possible, please send us your contact info via direct message and we will follow up with you directly to discuss your experience in more detail. Our team is dedicated to providing excellent account services for our business members and we hope to hear from you soon. Sincerely, -OnPoint

Onpoint do lied, l called at about 10:15 this morning and after about 15-20 minutes on hold l chose the option of holding my place in line and was told that l would be contacted when. It is now 1:01 and have yet to be called. There are no options to go direct to a live person and the employees of onpoint are learning from the automatic responders who don’t care either

    Response from the owner

Mike, Thanks for sharing your experience. We're sorry to hear that you were experiencing some troubles with our phone systems. We'll share your feedback with our team. It's always our goal to provide excellent service and we're sorry that we missed the mark. Please let us know if there's anything else we can do for you. Sincerely, -OnPoint

I took my neighbor Bob into the Oak Grove OnPoint Community Credit Union to open a new account. Bob is 83 years old & hard of hearing & a little confused. Their associate Maddy was very helpful & very patient with "the old man". She made sure that All the i's were dotted and all the t's were crossed. She even waited while he had to contact his daughter by phone to get her necessary information as needed on the account. We left very happy and have recommended OnPoint to friends and relatives.

    Response from the owner

Thanks for being a 5-star neighbor and helping Bob make it to the branch and open his account. Please let us know if we can help you with anything else. Best, -OnPoint

The ginger redhead that works there should be fired. She was not helpful at all in fact she made it so my cc wasn’t sent out to my house so I have to wait another 10 days before I receive my card. Who does this? Someone obviously very petty. Not worth my time again. The new workers don’t help at all. All are rude and make this bank have a horrible reputation. I hope your manager sends you back to training day 1 because you need it evil redhead.

I'm a sales manager down here at Carz planet and I have sold multiple customers that are members of on point. I have gone in there a couple times what's customers and have had Elizabeth the cashier ask my customer if we were forcing them into purchasing a vehicle or pushing them into purchasing a vehicle. I find this very unethical and unprofessional. Especially when my customer comes out of the bank and says that this lady needs to stay out of my personal business. Open up bank with this credit Union if it was the last one in the world

We have never had but great service, been a member sence 2006, have had now 3 auto loans, two business accounts and our personal banking and savings account with the oak Grove branch, we have also done transactions with wilsonville, Oregon city and Happy valley branches with no issues at all. Two names that stick out that I feel really cared about us as customers were Jeanne Beadle and Mike in the loan department, Jeanne took the extra time and went the extra mile to help us and get us taken care of, Thank you both for great customer service.😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀

    Response from the owner

Michael, thanks for the great review and for being an OnPoint member! Glad that Jeanne and Mike have been able to exceed your expectations! Sincerely, OnPoint Community Credit Union
