I wanted give a review for the outstanding customer service I received from Monica Rathman. I had an issue with a credit card company over charging my account. Credit card company/automated attendant who took my payment over the phone, put in one too many numbers. I went back and forth with the credit card company who told me that it would take almost 3 weeks for my account to be refunded. Knowing I had several other bills that were still scheduled to come out, I called up Monica expressing concern that my account would go negative and I would be stuck with over draft fees for something that wasn’t my fault. Monica instantly said she’d help me, as she empathized with my frustration. She put me on a conference call with the credit card company right then and did her magic. She was able to get my account refunded within just a few days. Additionally, she waived the over draft fees as the error made was not my fault. It’s rare to get good customer service these days, especially with all the automated attendants answering calls. It was nice to not have to press several numbers before actually being connected to a real person! Thanks, Monica for helping with my situation and for saving me a ton of stress.

Our mom recently passed away and they were ABSOLUTELY the best bank to deal with in the area! What a great, friendly, caring staff of people!!!

Joclyn Ruiz is the best, sweetest, most efficient teller I have ever. She greets me with such a kind tone and brightness my day. I love going to the bank and seeing that she is there. A wonderful young woman.

Walked in with deposit slip to deposit my 9yr old daughters piggy bank into her savings account. The teller counts the money, makes the deposit and asks us if we would like a balance. We said yes, took our balance slip and walked away. As we were almost out the door, I noticed her balance was over $900 short (her previous balance amount) and that the new balance only showed today’s deposit. We walked back up to the teller to ask what the mistake was and she says “Yeah, I noticed that too”. Well hello, welcome to earth darling - if you noticed an error why did you let us leave and not say anything to us about it? She then tells us that my daughters savings account has been closed! They never contacted us prior to closing the account, so we were shocked to find out her savings account is no longer active. I ask the teller if the account is in fact closed - where is my daughters $900+ that she had saved in her account? The teller literally shrugs her shoulders and says “I don’t know”. Tell me that’s not comforting, the bank that is suppose to handle your money tells you they don’t know where your money is at! Not only do they close her account without telling us - they let us make a deposit into an account that is now closed and STILL didn’t tell us! Unreal! A manager finally arrives at this point to tell us they have given my daughters savings to the state, and I need to contact them to get our daughters money back. Our contact information, home address, etc has not changed and he could not tell us why we were never notified of the closing. They did not know why the account was even closed in the first place. What a complete joke - these people are absolutely clueless. We took our deposit back, we will contact the state for my daughters money that Old Second handed over to them and will be taking our business elsewhere.

I have banked with Old Second bank about 20 years. I did a couple times try larger big name banks but felt I was inundated with fees (TCF, Citibank, 5/3.) Ultimately I came back to Old Second because of my positive experience with them. The only reason I had momentarily strayed from them is I didn't live in the area anymore so banking was a bit difficult.

I give this bank 5 stars...I will also give a shout put to Jodi, she is awesome. She helped with things I didnt even know I needed help. I have read all these reviews and want to say i have had similar circumstances to all of them and have had a good experience with the bank. For example, I have had accounts compromised...while they shut down my accounts temporarily, they worked quickly to fix the situation and restore. I also had accounts that were about to go dormant. Luckily the bank called me. I had originally missed their calls but they called me until I returned their message. Thank goodness they kept trying me. All I had to do was stop by and sign a paper and I was all set. Thank you for having my back. Thank you for all the hard work and helping me help myself.

where are your lobby hours?... Maybe it be good idea to have them on there . not the last page either. yoyos!

The team at Old Second located on Douglass in Oswego is outstanding. The team is friendly, knowledgeable, professional, and aware of maintaining privacy for the customers. I have been with Old Second since 1983. Again, the Oswego branch provides excellent customer service. I definitely credit branch manager Jodi for having such a great team, customer service oriented, and recognizing their customers and greeting them. Beth

In short I will say this bank will NEVER have your back if you are a victim of fraud! If you unknowingly deposit a check from someone which turns out to be fraudulent they will treat you like a criminal and shut down all your accounts! They dont care that YOU are the victim even though you file a police report about the incident. They will accuse YOU of attempting to defraud their bank! They will treat you in the most profoundly unprofessional ways you can imagine. So in essence, somebody dupped you without your knowledge, Old Second Bank will make your matters worse now by closing your accounts. STAY AWAY FROM THIS BANK! There are others out there which will have your back, work through this difficulty and treat you the way you deserve to be treated. You need a bank that has your back not just your money!

Terrible customer service. They closed my account without my knowledge (luckily i had a chase account and was in the process of moving everything over) however i know there was a little bit of money in there, even though it was only about 10 dollars it is still frustrating. The lady that helped me had a terrible attitude because i did not have my account number on me when i called. I have always had issues with this locations attitude problem ever since i started there. Extremely displeased and upset. Thank goodness for Chase!!
