I got approved for my truck loan through them with a super low interest rate on my 2007 F350. They have been super awesome and kind anytime I called in. Well, my father-in-law passed away right before Christmas and hubby wanted to take over his truck loan. The whole process, since the truck was from Colorado, was very difficult - but everyone at OCCU made it so easy! Helped us with everything. Randy and Ted were helping us, I forgot the gals name from the title department, and they were SO kind. Had good conversations and they were truly doing everything they could for us. Finally, after a long hard process because of the DMV’s, we got the loan!! We’re going today to set up our checking accounts with them!

I had to call OCCU to change just about everything due to a very horrendous break up involving identity theft. I spoke with Amber and she was beyond fabulous! She was sympathetic, kind, patient, knowledgeable, thorough, and had a great sense of humor. She made a very frustrating and scary situation feel easy and under control. Thank you, Amber! I appreciate you!

    Response from the owner

Hi Jennifer - Thank you for taking the time to share your #MyOCCU story! We are sorry you were put into that situation but are so glad Amber and our team were able to help you through it.

I was promised a 2.48 percentage rate on my automobile and Amanda changed it in the final paperwork and didn’t notify me. She changed it to 2.99. Of course I shouldn’t of signed it and read it more carefully but you don’t expect to get screwed at the last minute. When I called back to correct it Amanda told me to eat it and nothing could be done. How’s that for service. Classic switcheroo. Everything was good up to that point.

    Response from the owner

I’ve had their customer service agents talk over me repeatedly. I’ve had some of the rudest “customer service” I’ve ever encountered in all my life. Poor communication!!! Even poorer attitude. No ability to address issues. Far better financial establishments to do business with that actually CARE about your business. Most times I hang up because of their inability to address my issues or concerns in a respectful and unbiased manner. I’ve been in the automotive industry for years and NEVER dealt with a financial institution with utter lack of respect for the period paying their paychecks.

Worst bank I have ever had. You guys just say things without verifying it. I almost couldn't go to school because you lied to me about about when the deposit would be available. Now, I decided to keep your horrible service because you acted like there were an abundance of places in the Greater Pittsburgh area that I could bank, but there literally isn't a single place I can deposit money or do literally any banking. So I'm going to be late on my rent literally *only* because of you. Every single person I have dealt with is wildly incompetent, and just says whatever to keep your business. I can't wait to get my direct deposit updated back to Chase so I can cancel this miserable account. Unless you want to pay my $100 late fee for my rent, there is no possible way I'll continue banking with you liars.

We just sold our boat and the buyer was using this bank. What a horrible experience! We needed to sign in 5 places and get a check. It took us 90 minutes to complete this task. The buyer kept apologizing, but the bankers never apologized. They filled out the paperwork wrong and we had to start over. They just took their sweet time to do everything and then was socializing on the phone about liquor taxes while we are sitting there waiting. He tried to give us the thumbs up that we could leave while he was socializing. We still needed the check! I had to actually ask him to quit socializing and get me the check so we could leave. Completely inept!

    Response from the owner

Hi Julie, thank you for sharing this with us. We're so sorry to hear you had this experience with us. This definitely isn't the level of member service we expect. We appreciate your patience with us and will be sure to pass this along to our branch staff.

Totally disappointed in this credit union. I already have a truck loan from them, and explained my situation about adding a second car and the market being what it is that cars are in high demand I needed to move quickly in regards to finding the best solution for purchasing this car. I was trying get an answer from the phone support (loan officer) and the lady I spoke with was very rude and condescending and said that she didn't know and just high pressure sold me to fill out an application. I explained to her that we have more than enough in savings to purchase the car because we have been saving for 6 years to purchase a house and if there was any other options. Her reply was an irritated just fill out the application

This is the WORST financial institution I have EVER experienced! AVOID AT ALL COSTS. 1. Immediately after my first payment of $1,000 to my credit card (about a year ago), they lowered my limit by $700 without any warning or communication, essentially eating up $700 of my $1,000 and giving me a credit of $300 for a payment of $1,000. Since then, I have prioritized paying off their credit card last. I purposely haven’t cared to make any substantial payments since then because I can’t plan my finances if they’re going to randomly lower my limit after I make a payment. No other financial institution has ever done that to me. I’m finally to the point where I just want to pay them off and be done with them because I’m so sick of this toxic entity. 2. They hold your payment to your credit card for up to a week, meaning you have to make a credit card payment about a week early if you need to use it. You cannot submit a payment and expect to use those same funds for about a week. Every other bank I’ve used, the funds are available immediately after making a payment to your account. Not this one - plan ahead a week in advance!!! I have automatic payments trying to come out and being declined even though I made a $1,000 payment to my credit card 6 days ago, my “available balance” is well under. 3. Their app is ridiculous and the bank account and credit card account are not connected. You need separate logins, meaning you have to sign in twice to access your credit card accounts. They make you use duo authentication for each login, making it take way too long to even see your account balance, history, or make a payment. Not to mention, different login information for both accounts. 4. After changing my address, the customer service representative informed me that they are sending everyone new cards for company wide changes. I told him I’m away from my home for a few months on business and asked he send my card to an address that is not my home address, to which he refused, meaning I won’t be able to use my new card until I get back home! They have you jump through hoops to confirm your identity, yet refused to accept my request. 5. The account data lags for days, meaning it is not accurate. Unlike other banking apps that tell you your account balance accurately when you sign in, this one is ALWAYS wrong if you use it every few days. BEWARE. I was roped into having a credit card with them because they made a good offer to me while I was preparing for a move. I will never bank with them again. Seriously, AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!! Edit: After two phone calls, I spoke with Josh about the issue of my card declining my automatic payments after making a payment days ago and he was able to take the hold off of my payment. He also allowed me to have my new card mailed to the address of my choosing.

I have been a customer of OCCU now for 25 years now, I have financed two cars, a travel trailer, and a house from them, and they have always been amazing to me. Not to mention that they have a checking account that they don’t just not charge you for, they pay you for it. I wish they had a branch in central Oregon…

I went in this bank the other day and was treated with the absolute worst customer service I have ever recieved. A women named Stacy was so un professional, it's a long story but needless to say I would never go there again and will never recommend to anyone that they do business with them.

Applied for a car loan and I’m on day 4 waiting. They don’t call back when they say they will and I’ve had to call multiple times a day to find out what the delay is. I keep hearing that I’m still in the que and no one has taken my application.
