While we didn’t find what we wanted, Turtle (yes his name is 🐢!) was so kind and helpful. They have a huge selection of very nice rings. He took his time with us-getting out many, many for me to try on. Alas, the glass slipper did not fit today. But it was a very enjoyable experience.

I always enjoy this store good people and good feel to the store. I’ve been looking for a clever for a long time. Made my rounds of the store wasn’t able to find what I was looking for a member of the store asked if I needed help i asked if they had a meat cleaver and they said yes but it was in a back room. Was exactly what I was looking for and a fair price. Will stop by every time I’m in town.

First time in any pawn shop & we had items to sell. Guns, golf clubs, coins, jewelry. We were pleasantly surprised at the ease of our dealings. Owner (Jacob?) went through our items very thoroughly, a lot more than we expected. He was short staffed and we had quite a few items for him to look at, so the process took some time otherwise all in all a great experience. We believe he was straightforward & upfront, knows his stuff and doesn’t leave you with the short end of the stick. He has quite an inventory of for sale items as well, again, surprised at the variety. If you want an honest person to deal with whether buying or selling, this is the place to go.

I buy guns frequently. And I'm proud to say that Newport pawn and Jacob the owner are now my go to for guns and anything gun related. All the staff is friendly and very knowledgeable. Jacob the owner is all about customer service and made me feel like I was in the right place from the first time i stepped in his store. He has way better prices than the Lincoln city gun store and a far better selection as well. If you're looking to buy a gun. Get it from Newport pawn. You wont regret it.

Always a great experience! Recieved top dollar when selling my grandpa's old coins. They have a great selection of guns, electronics, and vintage stuff... you name it, they probably have it! Check them out on Facebook too, Lacey does a great job keeping us updated on all the new and exciting things going on there! Jacob, the owner, has done an amazing job staying on top of his competitors with his prices and having one of the best pawn shops on the coast!

They moved! And they are definitely moving on up! This new location is more professional and their displays are eye catching and easier to view all their great stuff! Hint: park at the public parking lot behind the Mexican restaurant La Roca on SW 9th street because traffic will be a fight at the light, but worth the small walk.

I have worked with these folks for many years in good times and bad and they have always come through for me. Excellent service, Great prices and Hard to find Merchandise. If you want to buy firearms or fashion jewelry and everything in-between, this is where I always start and normally finish. I would give them 6 stars but I am limited by this computer graphic. Place is amazing. Have been a customer for several years and even after moving away, still a customer when I come into town. Love seeing the expansion and how well this business has become over the time of knowing jacob. Great place great people.

We are from out of town on vacation we came into the The grand opening this weekend we ended up going in twice and The second time I ended up trading my pistol for a different pistol Very reasonable pricing, And huge inventory. The employees were great very helpful and easy to talk to. if you are looking for A new gun I highly recommend Newport pawn shop. I definitely will be back.

The staff is great, very knowledgeable always willing to show you anything in the store that you might want to look at. They are willing to be a FFL transfer for OL purchases, their fee for this service is really reasonable. Big time recommend them to anyone to buy from their inventory or handle transfers!!!

A recent Newport News Times article by Mathew Brock reported that the Newport Pawnshop recently moved to a bigger space. The owner, Jacob Wayman, shared his aim to expand the business. Accompanying pictures reminded me more of a retail shop than a pawnshop. Intrigued, I made a point of stopping by while out this morning. It's a busy place. Besides the manager, I saw four employees engaging with customers. There was a lot to check out, including big selections of jewelry and guns. Of course, what sets the place apart from the local big box stores, is the one-of-a-kind and the few-and-far-between items. My fav is a horse sculpture. It's big enough to ride and made of driftwood. I had the opportunity to speak with Jacob (the owner) and two employees (Jacob's fiance was one) and heard them as they engaged with other customers too. These are people that seem to like what they do and where they work. In the Newport News Times article, Jacob mentions that Newport "will probably be the place where the business stays for the rest of its life." I like he wants to be a resource to the community, "whether that’s helping someone pay their bills for a month with a loan or getting them a tool or something at a good price." I'm glad I stopped by and will be a repeat visitor.
