Shane from New American Funding was absolutely phenomenal to work with!! If I could rate him any higher than 5 stars, I definitely would because he 100 percent deserves it! Shane is very professional, friendly, reliable, a good listener, and patient. Shane made me feel completely comfortable during and even after the home buying process. He is a great communicator who genuinely cares about his clients! When I would email or call Shane, I would get a response back within minutes which is absolutely amazing! He listened to my individual needs and home buying concerns and answered all my questions thoroughly. When you work with Shane, you are working with the best of the best!!!

Easily the worst financial transaction I have been a part of! Loan officer was nice but overall experience was awful. Over 75 emails & at least a dozen phone calls and rarely got a straight answer. The processor/underwriter was apparently only able to copy & paste company policies. No matter how many times I would ask why something was needed or for verification of something, I would get the same canned reply. Most frustrating part was being forced to get flood insurance when had not needed for the previous 10 years of owning home. Even the flood policy issued by the insurer clearly states NOT in a flood zone. Regardless, New American did not care - just kept sending their canned response, or policy that I MUST carry. Also, as annoying, was the change in costs/credits at the last second - only disclosed at the final signing. So, was basically put in a position of sign & close, or, start the 3 month process over! I get some values may change, but to have over $550 in lender credits vanish at signing? Never did get an explanation...crickets since they got their commission. I did give 2 stars as the deal was completed so 1 star seemed unfair. However, I would HIGHLY suggest looking elsewhere and save yourself the pain of dealing with New American!

Cliff and Kimberly both did an absolutely phenomenal job on our home refi. It took a lot of work on both of their parts to help consolidate some of our debt and give us piece of mind after being hit hard by covid. Other lenders we tried before New American Funding (US Bank and Freedom Mortgage) did nothing but basically ignore us after being ill advised by both and eventually turned down due to their lack of knowledge and had no intent on helping a possible customer. Thank you New American Lending and again phenomenal job Cliff and Kimberly.

I recently did an application online with a representative named Paul. I explained to him that I recently left the education field of 16 years and was working part-time and self employed. Paul proceeded that we run our credit application to see if we qualify. I knew we had the credit from the jump it was the employment i was concerned about. Now today when i called he said oh you need 2 years of FT employment. I said why you never said that initially before running my credit. Paul response was we ASSUME you have 2 years. I don't know what kind of business practice this is but I am not happy with these practices. I want this inquiry removed from my credit history because of his lack of transparency up front. BEWARE OF ASSUMPTIONS WITH THIS COMPANY,

My experience with Riana and Michele was amazing. They made what may have been a nightmare closing run smoothly and quickly. They answered the phone when I called and were able to answer all questions quickly. They collaborated with the realtors and title company and closed the loan quickly. Great experience!

One of the representatives called me asking about my home buying and how it's going. He was nice, but then he brought Greg Luz on who started asking question about the early home buying process where I'm at the late home buying process. Upon him hearing that I couldn't recall my Loan Officer's name off the top of my head. He went right to belittling me saying with a harsh tone "You should know who your loan office is...". Couldn't pull the name off the top of the head due to everything going on in my life at the moment and/or the already 25-30 names being processed in my head at the time. Then when I asked 'what company do you work for' for a second time, because I didn't have time to write it down due to the constant questioning. He spoke in a harsh tone stating "I [Greg Luz] just told you that...". Someone working in a customer service job shouldn't be so quick to turn into a jackass when confronted with 'I don't know' or 'let me find out'. Would never work with this company from this one incident...

Matthew lacked in communication. Matthew had little patience with us. Very unprofessional. He constantly lied to us regarding closing. Had to involve supervisor to see results. He was the worst. Would NEVER refer. Don't get involved with this company!

Great service. The loan was the easiest part of the transaction. Local vendors for appraisal, and surveys were our only holdup through the home buying process. Our lender stayed on top of it and got it all done.

Erik Larsen was very courteous, prompt and professional in handling our loan. It was a pleasure working with him. We would definitely approach him for our next loan.

Our loan must have been our agent's first close. We were over 30 days late to close because the lender never communicated with the title company then charged us a fee for the delay. They were terrible. I've closed on several homes in my life. Two in peak markets in the late 1980's and the early 2000's. And I have never had such an inept lender.

Joe worked hard to get my business but his unwillingness to verify my current flood insurance cost me 3 months of waiting and 1.5% on my loan interest rate. I also ended up having to pay close to $2000 out of pocket that could have been avoided if they would have done the extra work to verify current paperwork that had already been acquired.

The First day I talk to Kristina on the phone I knew this Refinance was going to be a breeze.... I felt like I was talking to a family member she was right to the point and as to what I was looking for from New American Funding. She knows how to get to the point and told me what she needed to get this done in a timely fashion I would give her 10 Stars for her commitment and dedication to not only myself but the hundreds of other people she has helped. Bryan hull lied to us for a month and left us 30 days to try to find a lender and move and everything i would find another lending company they ask for paperwork that u dont need and hook u up with a agent that doesnt help at all !!!!! GO SOMEWHERE ELSE TO TRY TO GET A LOAN FIRST !!!!! IF U HAVE TO MOVE OUT DONT TRUST THEM U WONT GET A PLACE IN TIME !!!!!

Loan agent was responsive and straight forward, but the backend was sloppy and misleading. My docs that showed up on the day of signing were different than what had been shared throughout the process. I refinanced and at the last minute with out my knowledge they included three other credit cards to payoff, even though they did not affect my ratio's AND I had already paid them off. What they do on the backend is not transparent, as my loan officer was not even aware.

Everyone was extremely friendly. There were a few instances that were less than stellar. Communication was quite slow and I was left wondering what was going on most of the time. It wasn’t until I would send an email asking what the status of things were before I would get a response. The timing and more frequent communication would be appreciated. Especially in such a major financial process as this. Sometimes over a week would go by with no info as to what was happening and what we were waiting on next. We sold our home and bought our current one in a faster and more communicable way than this refinance was done. While in the end it was completed and we are happy it is over, it could have been a little more pleasant with more consistent communication that I didn’t have to initiate each time.

Cinthia Pedraza was excellent to work with. She stuck with me while I worked through a bathroom remodel in preparation for my appraisal. She responded quickly each time I emailed. She was very knowledgeable and professional. She got my refinance completed with excellent results. I'm extremely happy. I would recommend her to others in need of a refinance.

Very quick responses to questions. Always happy to answer questions or further explain. Kept us updated on every step. Truly felt like the company was doing their part to get us the prices and lowest rates.

Avoid like the plague. Almost lost the house I was closing on because of a clerical error that was caught at 4pm the day before closing which required me to provide 6 more months of reserve funding and essentially forced me to go up on the rate to avoid paying higher closing costs. To top it off, they failed to send the paperwork to the closing attorney on the day of closing, almost forcing me to delay closing again !

Ricky Miranda was a rockstar and made this such an easy process. Communication was fast and thorough. I highly recommend him to everyone!

**** Attention Veterans **** Kevin Garcia….. steer clear of this guy, he’s not in the business of helping Veterans at all. Been trying to get him or anyone from his team to send a copy of my VA Appraisal to my new lender for over two weeks and they won’t even return an email or phone call. He’s obviously upset because I fired them for shady practice. I’ve reported them to the VA Regional Loan Center.

I performed a re-fi on both my primary and retirement homes. I already had one home with New American and was so pleased 4 years ago with their amazing service that I chose them to re-fi my primary home. They did not disappoint. Great accurate communication. Wonderful follow through. NO surprises. In this time of poor customer service. NA shined. I recommend them to everyone.

New American Funding is a fantastic company that puts the financial interest of its customers first. I’ve had my mortgage loan with this amazing company since November 2019, and I’ve enjoyed every moment of it. They have been very transparent in their dealings with me and highly responsive to my concerns. I have refinanced with them twice now, first moving from a 30-yr FHA to a 15-yr conventional mortgage and later moving from a 3.875% to 2.25% interest rate. Under my first refinance agreement, I also got rid of my mortgage insurance within 10 months, with no hassle or paperwork. They are effective and efficient at what they do. Highly recommended for anyone looking for an original home mortgage loan or to refinance an existing mortgage.

The first experience I had with New American Funding, I was in the middle of working with a different (popular) lender. As soon as my emails were responded to quickly, with answers, explanations, and kindness, I was willing to switch. I've been so glad I did, since. Twice, now, there's been a no-hesitation, fully explained, knowledgeable approach from New American Funding to help me. I've felt heard. I've felt cared about! Once, I got an email response maybe just over 24 hours (maybe not even) and the lender was so concerned it might've been too long for me to feel okay to wait. For that kind of help and service, instilling a sense of choice in me, of agency, and my satisfaction- I'd absolutely wait a day or two for their response... not that they'd want me to. I'm not one for posting reviews but once in a while I happen to have an extraordinary experience with a person that warrants a review. Ali Sharai of New American Funding has helped me over and above in understanding my refinance process for my mortgage. He knew what to do to get good rate locked in right away and showed a good understanding of the process from start to finish. I appreciate his patience in answering many of my questions in his own way which allowed me to feel comfortable enough to ask the same questions again when I needed confirmation to the answers. The bottom line is that he is a good person....a good person who knows his work. In my refi search I'm glad I found him as my loan officer and have no regrets to this day, about a week after my loan was approved and my old loan paid off. Sincerely, John

Jon seemed like a great loan officer to me at first until his real colors showed. I asked Jon if he'd be able to match another loan I was looking at. He told me that if I got all my documents in on that night, he'd match that loan by getting exceptions. I got my documents in and be did not get me any additional discounts. When I asked about this, he kept lying to me about it and was condescending and talked over me. Even after talking to Jon's manager, Ryan King, I was told that there was nothing he could do to make things right even though I had proof that Jon promised this to me. I feel taken advantage of and did not feel like either respected me as a customer or a person.

Absolutely fantastic to work with!! Not only were they our loan officer for refinancing, they also worked with to purchase the house. They actually made wading through all the paperwork--read closely--pleasant, both times! Forthright and honest--everything was always as our loan officer said it would be and without surprises--they has our trust. And, even though both transactions were virtual and 1700 miles separated, we never once felt neglected. Truly personalized service!!!

Rates were very good. The initial communication was also good. I really like our loan agent, Alayna. She was quite helpful. When the loan left her hands and went to the processors communication really fell off. We had trouble getting a date to sign the papers. We did sign the papers more than two weeks ago and I have not been able to get any information on the status of our loan. Our old bank has already charged us a late fee. I still don't know what the outcome will be, so I am being optimistic in giving them 3 stars.

Sadly they have bad communication skills Dave was very nice however the woman he has working on the loan Amber is very unprofessional. When we would call to get updates from her it would take weeks to 3 days back to hear back and most of the time she would have Dave do her dirty work. She set up a time and date with a notary to sign papers and they never showed up. We lost money and had to get off work early due to this. Amber never apologized and said WE WERE BEING TOO Dramatic!!!! It took about 60 days to close the refinance part... The notaries they use are very unprofessional as well. We were told we needed to hurry up because the notary had another appointment and we were taking too long to go over fine print... I will never go through this company or recommend them. Dave is very nice and is helpful but the other people working with him are terrible.....

Drew was exceptionally helpful in speeding and smoothing the whole process. When the web portal and a few other minor software glitches presented he provided the extra guidance to show the quick way around, pointing out what was essential and what was not even necessary. Lisa processed the loan like a woman on a mission chasing every detail down so the process did not get stuck. I highly recommend this organization; they do intend to serve you well.

The closing statement changed multiple times with very little communication from the lender. $3000 PMI was added to the loan at the last minute, which put the loan over the 80% LTV threshold. I was told that the 79% loan to value would increase the interest rate due to the lender viewing this as higher risk! What?! I was later told by a realtor this was bait and switch. Poor company to do business with.

Allison Kim went over and beyond for my husband and I. We are first time home buyers and I was so intimidated and nervous about getting a loan. My anxiety was compounded by the fact that we had been "preapproved" by Quicken loans and then essentially left in the dark without anyone returning our calls. We've had our home mortgage through American Funding for 9 years. They were able to help us refinance when Wells Fargo refused to find any lending options for us even though we'd been a Wells Fargo customer for 10 years. Then when we moved American Funding was there to take care of our lending needs again. They are VA friendly. Our representative is Anthony Ciccati. Anthony reached out to us during the pandemic to provide us with a lending option for reducing our payments, dropping our interest rate and no closing costs! New American and Anthony care about their clients. They don't sell your loan and are there for the long-term.

Unorganized, bad communication, phone calls went unanswered and email responses delayed at critical moments during the loan process. Very stressful at times during the loan process. Incorrect wiring instructions where giving so the wire down payment went into the wrong account. I have two stars rather than zero because the loan agent was pleasant and we did eventually get the loan finished. However, I wouldn’t use this company again.

I had a very bad experience with my 3rd loan refinance. The loan was sold and I wasn’t notified. I found out when I received an insurance cancellation. I then had to call my company and the new mortgage company to straighten it out. The person who handled my refinance has yet to follow up. Two days ago I find out both my policies weren’t transferred over which once added will increase my note to more than it was before my refinance was done with New American Funding. It also created an escrow shortage which I have to pay out of pocket or have my note increase even more for 12 months. I’m furious with the inefficiency of my loan officer. The worse thing is that this company had all my information and still did a poor job! I will never recommend them to anyone. They called and called me to refinance my loan!

I didn't finish doing my loan with them yet. But the first officer I had Mallory Depuy was a great officer she was very communicative and made sure she let us know everything that was going on. They had to give us a different officer because of the needs we needed. I haven't finished my loan because I had some issues that happened with my credit and I am figuring that out right now. We got the refinance closed, but communication was limited at best. I didn't feel they provided the support during the process that a normal client would need. I finally got my closing documents after pushing for them 3 times and then stated, when does my lock expire. We funded on Thursday the day before the lock expired, and then title took more time to send out the check to my payoffs, which then took over a week for some creditors to receive their check. Not happy payoffs were so delayed.

Worst company ever!!!! I felt like it was a scam. 4 months to close a file. They have no clue about title and escrow. Be aware it took an additional month to fund. No communication!!! Did the old car salesman trick. Sent me to another loan officer to deal with delays. Delayed for months with no reasons.

I do not recommend! They use your lowest score to ensure you pay the highest rates. This company is very slow. They initially tell you 21-30 days. This is false. They make plenty excuses for delays. Everyone, even supervisors are evasive. The loan officer had no patience. He lacked in communication and kindness. We almost lost home but we were able to close, that's the only positive. PLEASE GET YOUR LOAN ELSEWHERE!

Naomi Jackson, my loan originator was a dream to work with! Right after my loan was approved, she knew I was going to look at homes. She let me know she was going on vacation but would bring her work computer with her in case I needed her. She was fast, thorough, and really is just an amazingly wonderful human being. She will always have your back.

Absolute train wreck of an experience. Not sure if they were overloaded or just incompetent, but the communication from this team was disorganized and erratic, their project management skills were terrible and their level of professionalism was abysmal. My favorite part was when we were three days away from the close date in our contract, I had just been informed that we would "probably close" by the deadline (not something you want to hear!), and I got an OOO bounce-back from my main point of contact who had gone to Hawaii without giving me a heads up that he would be gone. Ultimately we were put at risk of losing our new house and the sizeable amount of earnest money we had put down; it was only by the good grace of the seller that we were saved. The NAF team did not seem overly concerned about the terrible risk they put us in, and I haven't heard from them since as a follow-up to apologize for the monumental miss on their part. Cannot recommend strongly enough that you never use this company's services.

Shannon Vaughn is the WORST person I have ever done business with. I am self employed and from the beginning of the refi I told him that. I shared P&L's along with tax docs to prove income. He said "Yeah shouldnt be any problem to get this done lets move forward" Well they ran my credit and made me pay for the $500 appraisal. Not a big deal there but then he went ghost, good luck getting a response or communication from them. Now we are going on 8 weeks or more since we were supposed to close on a refi. Shannon and his company took my money, dropped my credit score so now I cant get the same rates and are no longer answering the phones. What a joke of a company. There will be legal actions pursued for affecting my credit score negatively as they did.

Great communication is very important to me. Greg would respond promptly anytime I tried to contact him. Even if he was unavailable to work on the task I was asking, he would let me know he received my communication and would be working on whatever it was I was needing as soon as he could.

Incompetent, we had to sign closing paperworks twice and there were still errors. When it was brought to their attention, matter was not resolved. Now the title company has to reissue a check to pay off creditors when it could have been fixed when New American Funding was first alerted.

I am satisfied with New American in general. The people I worked with, Cindy and Derrick, are very responsive. The rates and closing cost are not the best, but on the other hand they are among the few that lend to mobile home buying. The process took longer than I thought, that's partly due to planing and mostly due to conditions beyond their control. I am grateful that they put in effort to move the process forward when it gets difficult.

American Finance is not a 5 star company although the charge like one they are far from it, my experience was horrible, first they pump you up , you give them everything they need , the appraiser was quick with there part, underwriting kept asking for something that I couldn’t give them then had to send updated statements again then had to have the appraisal again cause of the loan number or something didn’t match so after 38 some days we finally closed on a Wednesday night, I was given an option to have my cash out money wired or a check fedexed and I chose wire and waiting for my money in the bank and got a check in the mail, mind you that there didn’t have to be a signature to the recipient, who knows who could have took all the checks in that envelope, I even gave them a voided check and filled out the information for direct deposit, WOW I’m just a little ticked off and they charged me over 10,000 in closing cost, Definitely not worth it, I would not recommend this company 😡

The experience of buying a house as a first time homebuyer is scary, the process is complicated and it's hard to navigate it on your own. Refinance experience was mostly good. The only part which kept me from giving a 5 star rating was between transition from signing to funding the new loan. We were told by the refi team not to make a payment on the current mortgage as that will be taken care of at closing. Well the time in between took several weeks and during this time I received harrassing texts, emails, and phone calls from collections.

The refinance was a easy process and very little time was spent on my end with any part of the loan, I was very pleased with "Marti" she did a exceptional job of keeping me informed about the progress of my loan. The staff at New American Funding was easy to work with and the loan closed quickly, something to remember if your using them that most of the communications are done by email which for me made the process more flexible. I have used other institutions in the past both online and conventional banking and this group of staff members were honest about the process and as I refer to people they weren't story tellers they just got the job done as a customer would expect.

She was very informative, caring and guided me and my wife through the entire process. Even after we closed Aiyana was still answering our questions. I worked with Henry Quach on my refinancing. The process took a while because of the lending environment, but Henry kept me updated and in the loop along the way and made it very clear and easy. No question was a dumb question. He is very service-oriented and an asset to the company.

I'm not sure where to start. I would give zero stars if I could. Our refinance attempt was a complete waste of three months and a $500 appraisal. I understand that many variables were out of our control, but my biggest problem was getting updates. Bad service is expected if the fees are cheap, but when a company stands to make over $5000 on a single transaction, one would think said company would be forthcoming with information and seem to care about earning your business. NAF is not one of those companies. The customer should not have to constantly ask for updates as I had to. And when I called this out, I got nothing but excuses. On more than one occasion it seemed that our loan package just sat for weeks. If you make a mistake, own it and try and make it right. Zero effort was made on this front, just excuses made, and blame it all on the VA. I have used my VA benefits with other lenders and had so many issues. Absolutely do not recommend. Avoid unless you like being left waiting and having to ask for updates.

Edwin and his extended New American Funding team made the entire loan process seamless. As a first time home buyer the process was unfamiliar, yet Edwin guided me through it and was able to explain the steps and transactions in a simple, understandable way. He was incredibly thorough and responsive to any and all questions that I had (often responding within the hour... and on weekends!). I HIGHLY recommend Edwin, especially for those new to the loan process or those looking for amazing communication throughout the process!
