Mylene helped me to sell my mother's house. At our first meeting she put me at ease by being friendly, listening to my concerns and having a calm and professional confidence. She immediately went to work and gave me a calendar of events, kept me updated and made everything go smoothly by staying on top of things. We had all documents signed, inspection and repairs done on schedule. Mylene even planted succulents in the front and back patios. She went above and beyond and worked hard to get the house sold. Even when the real estate market gave us a little surprise, as it happens, Mylene did quick assessment and made recommendation that brought a full offer the next weekend. I appreciated Mylene's professionalism and expertise and would call her again when I need a realtor.

Mylene is one of the best real estate agents that I have ever worked with. As she states in her web page, she is much more than an agent- she is definitiely a consultant who goes far above her agent duties. When selling my house, she gave me great advice that helped me to stage my house that resulted in a very quick sale (in escrow within 7 days of listing the house for sale)! She also went way above her agent duties. Being single, working full-time, and not being in the best of health, I had so much to do to get ready to sell the house (staging, packing, etc.). Mylene was so kind to help me in getting the outside areas (entrance and patio) to look great, which allowed the potential buyers to envision themselves there. As a result of her great staging advice and help, we had a very short time that I actually had to show the property, which I am very grateful for. We had multiple offers on my house! Having a professional, experienced agent makes a whole world of difference during the whole real estate process. I am so thankful she has such great experience and knows what she is doing! On the other hand, my buyer’s agent appeared to be very inexperienced and requested unreasonable repairs (brand new water heater when the current one was working fine), Mylene always was such a professional dealing with the other agent and she did a great job in helping me not the feel the impact of the buyer’s agent being so inexperienced. In fact, I am sure she taught the other agent a few good lessons! I also feel she always had my best interests in mind when advising me on various real estate issues. Since I was so happy with Mylene’s services on selling my house, I am also having Mylene help me buy a new home. The place I was interested in really needed a lot of updates. Mylene informed me of an option that I never knew was available to me – a purchase with a renovation loan. This program will allow me to buy the new place and make the necessary updates so that it will be move-in ready and I will have a lovely new home. She also suggested that I get the appraisal first before the home inspection just in case there were appraisal issues. I would have saved the home inspection costs if the appraisal had not worked out. I am so happy I found Mylene to help me with my home sale and purchase. She always responds to emails/texts/calls in a very timely manner (she even responds to my late night email/text questions) and she is so friendly! I highly recommend her service

We heard about Mylene through a co-worker who knew her through the Sierra Club. We were in the market for a home but we weren’t sure whom to turn to for help. Mylene was extremely helpful. She took time to explain the homebuying process to us, and gave us local market information. She even advised us regarding loan options. With not much else, Mylene became our main asset in the pursuite of our dream house. She is 100% knowledgeable, always available, always ready to act, always positive and encouraging. She knew exactly what we were looking for and helped us stay focused on our priorities and not to rush into purchase we would regret out of discouragement and pressure of the hot market in San Diego. With her amazing communication skills, Mylene got not one, but two of our offers accepted (we backed out of the first contract the very next day after it was accepted because OUR house became for sale). Mylene was recommended to my husband and I from a family friend. Best decision to work with her! We didn’t really have any knowledge of the home buying process or mortgages etc. and thought we would still need to save more for a down payment. Mylene recently referred me to a lender for a home mortgage refinance. Although she will not receive any compensation for this, Mylene provided me with support and advice throughout the entire refinance process by reviewing the proposed loan details, sending housing market info/comps, and answering any and every question I had along the way. Mylene sent periodic emails to see how things were going and to offer any additional help she might be able to provide. It is clear that Mylene truly enjoys her work and helping people. Mylene demonstrates a thorough and impressive knowledge of all aspects of real estate (such as the refinance process and loans in general, the local housing market, tax, insurance, etc.). I cannot say enough positive things about Mimi Merlo. We had to leave San Diego in a big hurry as my husband suddenly became very ill. We left a key with Mimi and she literally handled everything (including working with my wonderful neighbors)! She coordinated all the vendors, and took care of any last minute repairs and fumigation. Because of her knowledge of native plants and water catchment systems, she was able to effectively market the green features of our home and encourage the buyers to see the value in them. She worked smoothly with the buyers’ agents, escrow company, etc and kept me appraised of any details that I needed to handle. One good example is that during the inspection our garage door suddenly stopped working. She found her favorite garage door guy who was able to open it, fix it, install a new lock to avoid a future lockout, adjust the sensors, and give her a new remote - and it was so inexpensive! Then she coordinated with my wonderful neighbor who rewired it so it would not happen again. Anyone who hires Mimi, especially if they have to leave quickly, won't need to worry about details - they can just hand her a key and she will solve any problems all while getting them the most money possible for their house. Everything worked out so smoothly, even when the first buyers backed out after one day! If you use Mimi for your sale or purchase, you won’t be disappointed!
