Went into Mission Federal for financing, Kendra in Carlsbad was super helpful and direct with everything needed to make it a smooth process!

This location has truly lost touch with a client-centered, community approach. The tellers are rude and severely lack customer service. This is exactly why the big banks are winning. Avoid.

As a local Carlsbad small (read: infinitesimal) business owner, I have to say that the crew here at Mission Federal is top notch - Kendra Allen in particular. The same certainly can't be said (from me, in my experience) about US Bank, BofA, UBOC or Wells Fargo. During these challenging times, Kendra stepped up and educated me about my financial options and communicated with me every step of the way. The entire loan process (not SBA/CARES/PPP/EIDL) was simple, painless & highly efficient, and has enabled me to continue my business during this economic disaster. I've been a member for about 9 years and would not consider any other local credit union or big bank if I were looking for a business loan, auto loan, or simply a checking or savings account. Needless to say, highly recommended.

The manager here qualifies for "weenie" status. Other than a single great teller (who, as of late 2015, is no longer there), the other tellers are subpar and the manager is quite the idiot. Mission Federal is an institution that spends money on life-sized brass castings to decorate their offices, dump tons of money into appointments that decorate the offices while that cuts into the member's share. Adding in their higher-than-market interest rates on loans, lower-than-market rates on CDs and other long-term savings accounts, they seem to be hoping their clientele do not shop rates out. The kicker for me is that they held a cashier's check for 11 days that was less than 1/4 of my total deposits. They fail and don't seem to care. As soon as my final CD here matures, I'm gone. Another credit union and a local Wells Fargo both have served me so much better but I chose these guys due to location, nothing can beat quality and I'll gladly drive a little extra to avoid the disrespect and frustration.

I would never bank with Mission Federal Credit Union after my experience. I got a phone call to my cell phone looking for somebody else. She left a voicemail asking that I call her in the San Marcos Branch. She left a number and an extension. Numerous calls, during office hours and non-office hours. All the same. The phone just keeps on ringing and never stopped. No voicemail options, no return to operator options. WOW!!!!!!! That's not what I want from a bank. I even hung up and restarted with the MFCU operator and even SHE couldn't get anybody in the San Marcos Branch to pick up. Count me out. I want a bank that's responsive. How can customers get served if their bank neither picks up the phones or offers a voicemail opportunity so we don't have to take time off work to try and track someone down.

Yeah if I had a dime for every time I wasted time & money on this joint I'd cut even to say the least. This place is a nightmare if you want the services you should have access to when dealing with a bank.

I have been doing my regular banking at this location for the last couple of years and I love the service. Most recently, I inquired about an auto loan shortly after they opened at 9:00am. Kendra is amazing, and she worked hard to have every detail of the loan worked out. I was able to drive my new truck home that night. Thank you, Kendra and the branch as a whole for never letting me down.

I would highly recommend this credit union & this branch specifically. I worked directly with Kori and Kendra on getting my auto loan. New to the state & area, they made me feel right at home. They went above and beyond to help answer any and every question that I could have had. The process with them was very stress free and relaxing. Not only were Kori & Kendra so helpful, I was also blown away at how clean the office was. I got lucky and came on a 'yummy treat & coffee' day too- or maybe that is every day! Thank you for helping make the car buying process so easy and fun!

A pretty good bank all and all. The lines can get long and the tellers chat. Still a small town feel and nice tellers. One cent over your balance and BAM, thirty plus charge on your account. Strict with loans and penny pinch on checks and other things. But compared to big banks, they measure up.

Been banking there since I was 16. Everybody is really nice and helpful. App is easy to use. I've banked with bank of America, union bank, and wellls Fargo. Best experience hands down with mission fed expecially the carlsbad location.
