I was not expecting a call from them when I initially establish contact with them. The Customer they were collecting on behalf of has a poor financial management, however that is not the case with Merchants Credit Association. When I spoke to one of the collectors, they were willing to provide as much information as possible to verify the legitimacy of the debt owed. After double checking the information with their customer I was able to call back and pay off my debt. Thank you for reaching out to me and having patience.

I received a returned call from this business. I attempted to make a payment of $25.00 which is all I could afford. And the agent on the call refused my payment stating that wasn't enough and he will not be taking it over the phone. I asked twice are you refusing my.payment he replied your balance will take years to pay off and that is not enough. He was very rude and dismissive. Filling a complaint through this company is impossible. Terrible business.

Called me attempting to tell me that I had a debt with evergreen healthcare. I have no medical debts. They refused when I asked them to do a verification of the debt and a verification of a HIPAA release authorizing them to access my medical information. They said I was asking for too much and that the debt would be there with them when I was ready to contact them and pay them. This is a blatant violation of the Fair credit reporting act and HIPAA privacy laws.

I feel silly reviewing a collections agency. But my agent was very nice, I had a small bill that forgot to pay. Don't be intimidated to call them, just treat them the way you want to be treated.

Brittany Davis - the agent calling was belittling and rude, immediately threatening to take into court and send a processor to residence. Ignoring the simple request for an itemized invoice for the alleged debt saying they don’t need to provide it for collections. She finished the call with further threats to send to court. MCA is a joke, employing nothing but clowns to work in their three ring circus.

Don’t give this place any of your money. I don’t even know how they got my number. Lol they keep calling me saying I have unpaid debt 🤡 do yourself a favor if you do have a lot of debt …. pay it off through a LEGITIMATE SOURCE. Debt collectors are scammers. Especially these guys. Lol anyone who is rude to you about collecting “unpaid debt.” Should be hung up and blocked immediately. Especially if it is in a threatening/demeaning tone. These guys can’t even get it right. They call me up and say “so and so has unpaid debt, how would you like to pay it?” It’s not even my name, but I go circles with them for the hell of it.

A lady from this association called me while I was in an office meeting. So I asked her to call later since I was busy. She rudely said 'Why don't you give me a call since you have the number? '. Sweetie, I have no reason to call you! I hope this person was an unpaid intern else it's a waste of money on the salary. A talking parrot would do a better job for a cracker or two.

I will give 0 star. Definitely a fraud company. They called me several times said they got a collection bill from the hospital, because of moving I can not find the original bill from the hospital so I paid them full amount plus 25% service fee. They told me will send this paymemt within 3 busniess days to the hospital. But after three weeks I got the same bill from the same hospital!!! I called them, they told me give them a week to figure out this payment delay issue..and the customer service is very rude. I will request the refund from the and pay the hospital directly. Otherwise I will ask bank to dispute this payment from this fraud company!

Dealing with these guys right now because of a bill I let slide into their business which was completely my fault because I procrastinate. They have been great working with me in getting this bill paid. Every time I've called they've been respectful and helped me figure out how to get this paid so it stays off my credit report. Of course people will have bad reviews for a debt collector but I'd just like to say that this company has never harassed me. Yes, they've called but thats their job and as long as you're paying what you're supposed to they will leave you alone.

Not really a fan. I don't know if you're familiar with the term, Minnesota nice. It is pretty much what you get from this group. My medical provider indicated they'd sent me multiple bills. Rather than them ring me they foisted me onto this group of jackals. I simply called my medical provider and told them I'd pay them the unmarked up amount directly. When the debt is paid to the original company the collection agency can basically do nothing. You can also muzzle them by simply saying I don't want you to call me any longer. However make sure you pay the bill (and if needed tell the biller to get their *$%t together when it comes to someone who pays on time routinely not paying)

It is almost laughable to see the 1 star reviews. " Won't return a call" "Poor customer service" and so on.. SMH. So I had to call this agency today because I over looked and missed paying a bill. ( My fault, NOT theirs ) If I had not done this, I would not have had to call them. They promptly took my call, answered all of my questions, processed my payment and now we are good. So I will close with this. It is NOT this companies fault that people choose to not pay their bills or overlook a bill. When they do, this company has a job to do and that's to come after you to collect. Its sad to see that people judge this company because of a reflection of the debtors actions.. They did not put you in a spot to need to interact with them, You did. Again my experience with the man and women I talked today was nothing but professional and courteous and I would hope that all customer service interactions go so well.

I get that they have a job to do and it's my fault for overlooking a bill, but Jesus Christ they could treat people with a modicum of respect. This dude talked to me like I had 3 brain cells and gave me attitude for not wanting to pay over the phone when it's easy af to pay online. He goes "I don't know what your dilemma is with paying over the phone" and then when I said that was a bit snarky he told me I was just reading into it too much. I don't carry my credit card with me so I don't have the # and secondly, I don't like reading my card # on a frickin recorded line that debt collectors of all people listen to. Rudest, most condescending "representatives" ever. At least the person answering the main line and transferring calls was very nice. I'm a tolerant af person and I was calling back after receiving this call out of the blue (they didn't leave any vm, btw) to take care of whatever it was I owed so I was not expecting the rudeness. It sucks enough that people have to have debts for basic medical care--a little compassion would go a long way.

Truecaller informed me they were a SPAM call before I even answered. When I did answer (I had nothing better to do), I just told them "No thank you and please stop calling" they said they will have to call me back because they have a bad connection. I told them "Good luck finding me because you call numbers at random". Nothing since.

Tried to list a collection with this company for a company that owed our company money after moving out in the middle of a lease. I understand the rent moratorium in Seattle, but MCA strung us along for more than 6 months, asking for more information, not answering emails, and not returning phone calls. After 6 months I got an email saying that they could not do the collection. If that was the case, why did you accept the initial inquiry. Will no longer be listing collections with this company.

They called me stating that I have an overdue medical bill. I said okay and I would be happy to pay it if they could provide a paper copy. I asked them to mail me a physical bill. It's been weeks and I still haven't received anything in the mail. They started calling me again but leave no message. Communication from this place is very strange. If you're not going to send me a physical copy of my bill, I'm not going to pay. Seems like they try to get people to pay over the phone for some reason...

Never received a single bill from Merchants which had a principle of about $243 until almost 2 years later when it had accrued another $50 in interest. I'm pretty sure this is fraud and it doesn't seem like I'm the only one who's experienced fraudulent practices with this company. I can be respectful to creditors (even though I don't particularly respect anyone who makes a career of harassing people for money) but when they are blatantly trying to squeeze extra money from people who, in most cases couldn't afford the principle balance in the first place? I can't respect that if I try. I know that the folks calling people aren't making these decisions so I don't hold it against them personally, however it appears this company is run by bottom-feeding scumbags.

Received a call back 3 days later after I left a message. Worst customer service experience EVER Asked to send me a bill in the mail so I know what the exact amount is and was told to access it online. Couldn't understand what he was saying because he could care less about helping me. Will pursue legal action for fraudulent service

First review to track this experience, Merchants called for a bill for my wife from all the way back in January, I provided the hospital the correct address at that time, I provided the hospital the correct address again in September, I have never received a bill, the first contact I get from Merchants and he is asking me to verify addresses I haven't lived at in over three years and ten years. I don't need some condensending little sh*t calling me two months after my wife passed still looking for the address I have provided at least 5 times now. I have zero f's to give, they will get their money but they are not going to enjoy the conversations.
