Meijer Credit Union Gaynor Ave, Grand Rapids

Whenever I call, the representatives are not very friendly. That is one thing. Nobody wants to do business with unfriendly service. Another issue is with the ATM. Yes, ATMs are plenty to find around but the problem is NONE will take deposits! On the list of available ATMs on the Meijer app, only two ATMs are listed as being available to accept cash deposits. I tried both and both locations declined my deposits! The atm returns the money to me and prints out a receipt that it’s been declined. I do not live anywhere close to a Meijer branch, so being able to deposit cash into my account is extremely important to me. I will have to become a member of another credit union just to be able to deposit money into my account. Meijer credit union needs to be more user friendly and convenient for those of us who do not live near a branch. Or at least open up more branches.

My family has had their money here for 4 generations. MCU used to be a 5-star credit union. The customer service was great, the tellers were friendly, the mangers were wonderful. Now they have all new tellers and a new manager, and customer service is terrible. Even the MANAGER is rude. I will be closing my account as soon as I can.

Applied for a mortgage here as was offered a shady “balloon payment” mortgage. Another credit union approved us for a prime rate conventional mortgage.

Been with them for 3 years now and the experience has been okay. We were hoping to use them for a house loan and reached out to get a free consultation that they offer through their website. Didn't hear anything for almost two weeks. The girl I spoke to said it's probably because of Covid but that more than 1 week is still excessive. So we decided to wait again because we understood. She assured us we should hear something in no more than a week and its been about 2-3 weeks. They just seem disorganized and inexperienced and aren't that special or unique compared to other banks/credit unions. We will be switching banks.

They block your debit card randomly for the dumbest reasons (like an audit 6 months later) and you won’t know until you try and use it. They’re small so they don’t have after hours support and only like 2 locations which is an inconvenience but understandable because they’re a credit union. Overall they make it easy to get team member loans but thats about the only benefit I’ve seen in the past two years.

Inconvenience if you work for them and use this bank seeing as how I live in Danville Illinois and there's no shared banks close around me so I have to use the atm. Definitely going to be closing my account soon

Don’t bank with them! They are a Inconvenience. There is only 2 location. They have 5 employees, they don’t answer they only benefits is how quick they send loans, there system is very old everything is done on paper. They don’t record there calls , so if someone know you info they can call and do whatever they won’t even have a recorded call. I have 3 credit unions and Never Witness the stuff I have with this bank. don’t join them unless you need fast cash. There fees are horrible money don’t add up on that old school app. DONT WASTE YOUR Time!!!! Employee Amanda have the worst attitude ever and disrespectful! And Katy manager just support all BS THAT GOes on !!! don’t join them!!!

The tellers are nothing but pleasant. I don’t want this to reflect on them at all. But this place is a bunch of crooks. They constantly don’t pull a payment for something out until I have a low balance, and then hit me with an overdraft fee. And it will be something like my lunch at work from 2 weeks beforehand. I’ve sent them probably 100 emails about it, about my current auto loan, and about another loan, and they haven’t responded to a single one in a year and a half.

I have always received good service here, and found the tellers to be very helpful, polite, and professional. They have even gone out of their way to help me with refinancing my home. Totally top notch in my opinion.
