THE WORSE financial establishment on the planet!!! DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT USE THEM! I agree with the last review-would give them a ZERO star if I could! They are so difficult to work with in every way. They don’t take payments over the phone. Tried for several days to attach an external bank account to transfer funds but it wouldn’t work bc their “third party” was and has been unsuccessful with sending verification codes which the rep said they have been having that problem and refused to take my payment over the phone which made my payment late! The app and online banking is pointless so don’t waste your time down loading it. I had to go to a partner credit union to deposit money into my account in order to make a payment! VERY INCONVENIENT!!

I wish I could give it a zero, during the Covid pandemic they did not help me at all. I was unable to make a loan payment they did not try to help me at all. l got a negative on my credit report the young lady representative attitude was terrible…. I tried to explain my case and see what options did I have they wouldn’t help me at all !!!!!! Definitely not recommend… at least this branch

Totally regret opening an account with this “credit union”. Have had to put up with terrible customer service, stolen credit card information that they continued to allow even after reporting it several times, and now outrageous overdraft fees due to shady account debit/credit processing. Looking forward to closing my account with them and never looking back.

Not the best credit union or banking service. Don’t trust your money or credit with MECU! They don’t have your back dealing with unauthorized transactions. On one situation years ago I had to basically track down scammers in another state getting salon services on my penny! I’m grateful I caught the deadline to dispute by one day! speeding up to current year in a financial pandemic my card was unauthorizedly charged which put me into overdraft & yet again I’m told I have to go after the vendor or Better Business Bureau! Yes MECU is who I should report to BBB

Three checks over the course of 2 years on my auto loan have been lost in the mail or at their processing. You cannot make a payment online through their website unless you have a checking account through them. So funny because I several other farm and home loans through other banking corporations and I can pay them online through non-related bank accounts. So, I now opt to pay by phone. Even one of these phone transactions were never processed and had to be made again a week later. The waiting time to get to someone to make a payment by phone will run you anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours. I am currently paying 3-5x's my monthly payment just to get this experience over with.

I had to open a case for an item that was shipped not as described and MECU did not protect me from a loss in the process. The seller refused to respond and MECU very swiftly told me it was out of their hands. This is genuinely bad business. I won’t ever send anyone their way again nor will I continue to bank with their institution. Really showed how much I meant to them after all these years.

Horrible experience with this credit union I’d give 0 stars if I can and the customer service is the worst, the staff will do absolutely nothing to help with your problem. Would definitely close my account and take my money elsewhere.

Checks for my auto loan payment seem to always get “lost” in the mail. Seems to do this in order to charge late fees. Run away from this establishment.

I’ve been banking with MECU for several years. They haven’t been very helpful with much of my needs. The loan process is bad, the system is dated and the customer service is horrible. I literally had a rep put me on hold for an hour to “review my account” and never came back to the phone. I hung up and called back, just to get a rep who wasn’t sure how to review my account. I switched to another credit union just to test them out and the difference is night and day. Looking forward to closing my account and having my family switch theirs over as well.

Hard getting someone on the phone and once a representative gets on the phone they have a don’t care attitude also y’all need to get new phone lines every time I call I can barley hear the representatives. Tired giving this bank a chance with my auto loan since they gave such a good rate but trying to get somebody on the phone to assist me makes me so upset wait time is way too long. I would not recommend as a credit union if I could give zero stars I would. They also promise a call back and never return phone calls. Needed some assistance over the phone I am on hold as I am writing this and I was told to send an email I’m even nervous that my email and fax would get over looked. DONT BANK WITH THIS BANK THE REVIEWS ARE TRUE. 1 hour hold still no ones has come to the phone Still on hold 1 hour 31 minutes

I wanted to support a local credit union but honestly, I've had a terrible experience with MECU since I started my auto loan with them in December. Took me WEEKS to get everything sorted because MECU reps wouldn't get back to me or claimed they didn't have paperwork I sent many times. I was without a car for weeks because of their delays and poor communication but I stuck with it because of their low interest rates. Once I finally got my auto loan approved and ready to go, I've had countless issues with my auto payments going through with their system (never had this issue and now it's affecting my credit score) AND they reported me to MVA claiming I did not have auto insurance when I presented proof of insurance at the time of my auto loan. They started charging me for THEIR insurance, my car got flagged by MVA, and now I'm going through the horror show of rectifying that mistake with MVA and getting my $500 fine cleared. Didn't even call me before doing this and the rep I spoke to clearly did not care.

I use to love this credit union now its awful. The customer service is horrific. Everyone is in a permanent mood and not a good one. They could care less about your money. They don't even want it. I tried to open an IRA for months. I recently engaged with Tower Federal and it was like night and day. You don't have to put up with horrible customer service to bank with a credit union. Clearly this is an ongoing issue and legitimate based on all the feedback below. I would love to be part of the board and help them fix their issues because clearly something has gone down hill. MECU do better! The community needs you.
