The lobby was closed to public and by appt only. Regardless of my scheduled appt, no one answered my knocking at the glass door. The call I made to the posted number was answered off site. She tried texting several people and finally was able to get someone to open the door. Did I mention two people saw me standing at the door? A 5 minute event took 15.

I opened an account I used seldomly, but still used it. However they closed my account stating I hadn’t updated my address (most of my banks are all online statements) and MECU took the money in it to keep, without my consent! They said there was a $5 fee to try to find my new address! I didn’t get any mail from them even tho I had all of my mail fwd, no calls and apparently they sent 1 email and then kept $5/month from October to January as a “finders fee”. There was no obvious disclosure of this to me. I was pissed. They weren’t even apologetic or nice or notify my when I went into the branch that they needed my new address. They did not offer my any incentives to come back and instead stated it would be a $25 to reopen an account. The woman was rude and I walked out and said I’d be finding a new bank. Luckily, Wells Fargo was offering a $200 bonus to open an account online! The branch by Apache mall (not the one downtown cuz that one is worse than Mayo Credit Union) is great. Do not go here unless you want lots of surprise fees, and rude bankers to deal with.

Aside from being a well run business, I think credit unions have the best interest of their customers in mind and prefer them to banks

The tellers are very nice but the institute itself is ‘fee happy’ which is typical for banks and not credit unions. They’r not responsive at all to customer problems, either. It took over a year and constant hounding on my part to get the deposit feature working in their mobile ap!

Customer service is terrible at all there locations!
