    Commerce/MAPFRE has served all our insurance needs (residence, autos, etc.) for decades. We have found their claims procedure to be user-friendly. They even remind us annually about all available discounts so that we will not overpay. We have never though about changing carriers since we cannot imagine better service from another company. Also, their pricing is fair. I doubt that they can be beat for their combination of high-level service and fair pricing.

    Excellent service, quick claim settlement and competent staff. Involved in an accident and the process of filing the claim was very smooth and easy.     I was hit by another driver. I called as soon as I got home to share what happened. They were great. It took the appraiser a while to get out to look at my car but I contacted the body shop they recommended. It took some time to get an appointment there but had my rent-a-car when I dropped off my vehicle. Everything was so easy.

    FIND ANOTHER INSURANCE COMPANY 2 months after my first accident in 10+ years and nothing is done. No assigned agent - still!! All the info on paperwork is wrong, after multiple calls to correct. This company will take your money and do everything to keep it if you have a claim. Absolutely the worst experience I have ever had.

    Called in claim. Sunroof glass was ordered and installation was done within 2 weeks. The only reason it wasn't done sooner is that glass delivered to shop was flawed. I've had Mapfre for over 25 years. Excellent service.

    I was a loyal customer of Mapfre / Commerce Ins for 25 to 30 years , In 2021 they raised my rates about $400 for two vehicles, I called them nd told them I had been driving even less than usual since the covid epidemic . I have an RV and stopped traveling with it and use my vehicle every few weeks and asked for a reduction , not an increase. they told me that they were allowed to raise the rates per mass insurance commission. I started looking for a new insurance company and went with the Hartford through AARP. they reduced my rate and increased my coverage . Mapfre should have reduced my rate or at least not increase it by $400 . I would still be with them. But now I am free to negotite better rates as needed. Look for alternatives to Mapfre.

    Lightning struck a very large tree, sending it onto the house. Tremendous damage. A Mapfre agent was out there the next day, and another agent came the day after. They sent me a check for the damage within a couple of days so I can complete the work. Very efficient, easy to work with, and caring.

    They were quick to help and make arrangements for repairs and rental car. they paid the bill for repairs before the car was able to be dropped off and I was not worrying about anything along the way.

    I was wrongly billed today. I cancelled Mapfre insurance a month ago. We faxed over the 2A form, was told it was received and would be processed. It apparently never was. Two weeks ago, I also cancelled my auto-payments through their portal site. I still have my home insurance through Mapfre, so I still have the portal, and just to make sure, cancelled auto-pay, and received an email confirming that the auto-pay was cancelled. I then still had $536 taken out today automatically. When I called, I was told they never processed the 2A form and not given a good reason why. I then asked about the auto-pay being cancelled for two weeks and was told that even though it was cancelled, the first payment would have only been cancelled if I called. When I asked why that wasn't brought to my attention, I was told that they couldn't give me a good reason why. That's just how they do things. And that they can't put all the account info in the autoresponse email of the cancelled autopay. I was also told that it will take a few business days to now process my cancelled policy, so I will not be getting my refund until next week. I have 4 kids, and I am now out $536 that I can't afford to be out of, for at least a week. I will never use Mapfre again. I will never recomment Mapfre again. And I will be moving my home insurance off Mapfre very soon as well.

    I've had two major accidents in my car - both of which were rear end collisions (the last one totalled the car). The company was very easy to work with which took some of the sting out of the whole thing.

    Whenever I have needed a question answered I have always talked to a polite and knowledgeable person at Mapfres home office. I get most of my info. On our accounts on line which allows us to go green. Also appreciate the discount for paying in full. Have yet to make a claim so cannot comment to that aspect of the company.

    The worst insurance company that ever existed. We've been waiting for the estimate on our stolen car for the whole month, they've been procrastinating, didn't even bother to let us know what is the outcome, to eventually rejecting our claim without even covering the obvious damage. Extremally unreliable insurance company, with bad customer support and very expensive. I had very bad experience with them. Would give them 0 starts if was possible. Not worth your money and hustle. Wouldn't recommend to anyone.

    Great company and good value except they don't use email to notify when coverage is due. Then when coverage is about to unknowingly expire that's when they finally send an email. When I asked about this dichotomy of notification the very nice associate informed me they had mailed me, as in snail mail so I should have known. When I told her that I was in Europe for a longterm assignment and would appreciate email ahead of time she said they could not do that. This was all in 2021. 2021. Otherwise a lovely company, would highly recommend.

    On August 27th a landscaper backed out of a residential driveway as I drove by in the street. My car was hit with a tree chipper partially crushing the front passenger side. I used my insurance benefit to rent a car and have my damaged car towed to a collision center. When my car was deemed a total loss on September 9th the adjuster by phone was condescending asking me if I needed to find a pencil and spelling out simple words in the conversation. When I told him that the offer that he made was low based on my market research his tone became aggressive and told me he was making a settlement not replacing the car. I wrote a rebuttal letter on September 13th but it was never acknowledged. My agent has called asking for another adjuster to weigh in on my claim with no result. The initial offer made was based on the lowest possible car valuation which does not reflect the condition of my car before the accident nor the increased value of used cars in the current market. I have never filed an auto insurance claim before and do not believe this treatment should be business as usual. I have had a total insurance loss of my vehicle through no fault of my own, have acted in good faith on my part yet cannot get past the first and only offer for a settlement. To my surprise there are no checks and balances in this company to prevent this type of stonewalling which leaves me with literally nothing more than four months after my car accident. Current and prospective customers of Mapfre insurance should be warned that choosing this company will make a difficult situation far more stressful and frustrating. I am completely dissatisfied with Mapfre Insurance.

    Had a run in with a deer. I filed a claim online, within an hour, a claim representative contacted me. an hour after that I had an appointment for an estimate at the body shop I chose. My car, though completely driveable, will be fixed as soon as parts arrive and a rental is available.

    I had been with MAPFRE for many years. They always seemed to give me a better quote than anyone else in this area. I had no complaints previously. This year, when I received the newest coverage pages, I noticed the customary discount for paying the entire yearly bill in advance was NOT listed anywhere on any of the documents. I phoned to ask why not, and someone returned my call saying the discount was already shown in the monthly payment amount. I added those up, and compared to the entire insurance bill if I paid monthly instead of complete payment early, and IT ADDED UP TO THE SAME AMOUNT ! In other words, there was NO discount as usual for paying early, and when I called back to discuss this, I was just verbally reassured that the price was indeed discounted whether I could see it or not. This is NOT how I expected my loyalty to be honored. I promptly switched my Insurance Company and local provider to somewhere else whose math actually added up ( or down ). I do not believe I was told the truth. I believe because of Covid 19, the company had no intention of giving out discounts with the economy as poor as it is, and the end user, me, has to fill the $$ gap in profit. David K.     I've had MAPFRE Insurance since the 1980's, when it was Commerce Insurance. The transition was seamless. They've always been fair and honest with me. They automatically send me rebates for any discounts I might become entitled to. I have my home and car insured with them. When I call my agent with any questions, she's always helpful.     Difficult to get the representative assigned to case. Had a total loss claim backon 1027/21 and loan has yet to be received from mapfre..mapfree says they can't tract...bank reported me to credit bureau..insurance company fell short on processingm horrible to get updates..no one calls you back..

    The customer service is superb - always nice, always helpful. Never a problem with claims. I consider the pricing fair, but I’ve not bothered to shop around as I’m happy here. The “smart” phone processing allows you to check accounts and pay bills, but it can’t answer the questions I normally pose. It’s easy to get to a person, though.

    I've been a customer of MAPFRE for about 3 years and can't say enough positive things about its handling of my partner's crash that totaled my car. (The other driver was 100% to blame.) Every person I spoke with was extremely helpful and went out of his/her way to answer all my questions.     The service has been excellent on the very FEW occasions I have needed a new windshield for my car. One thing they should change is the name of the house insurance policy. It's called Personal Property which to me is more like jewelry or valuable antiques or whatever. I guess a house is personal but it really belongs to the bank till the mortgage is paid off. I think it should be called House Insurance.

    This is the best no-nonsense, cover your back insurance company you can get in Massachusetts. The best rates and there is no cut in services. They are just efficient as heck and all of their people have always been very professional.     Just spent 30 minutes on the phone with a MAPFRE representative and she could not tell me the cost of the individual vehicles on my policy….. then the call was disconnected. Worst customer service of all of the insurance companies I’ve ever dealt with. Their website is never updated . I get emailed bills that are due but when I try to pay them in their website it says my balance is zero so I cannot pay it. I would not recommend MAPFRE at all.

    The customer service and claims department at Mapfre insurance suck. I was in an accident in January that was not my fault. It's now March and my car is still not drivable. No one in this company returns calls or e mails. The only time I received a call back was when I did an online survey about the company in which I gave them a poor rating. They called wondering why I gave them a bad rating. It is horrible how much stress this company has caused me for an accident that wasn't even my fault. I pay my premium on time and yet I cannot get any customer service. Do yourself a favor and don't waste your time or money on this insurance company.

    Mapfre has covered our family's 2 cars for years and recently we've added a third for our oldest child. I cant say enough good things about their customer service. Over the years we have had our some claims and I have always been impressed with how competent and friendly everyone is. I mean, usually after a few years, you run across that one person who makes me want to say, can you please just transfer me to another representative, but that hasn't happened. The people are amazing. The claim settlements I have had to be involved in have been very fair. I dont know if their pricing is competitive because I would never look anywhere else - so it's the only thing I cant speak to.

    this company is horrible. i had them for many years. i put my daughter on my policy and they canceled my car. without notification and kept my daughter on my policy and left me without insurance for 6 months without knowing. then her car gets T-boned by someone that was speeding and went through a stop sign and i myself helped her report it to both insurance companies thinking that’s what i’m supposed to do and was accused of adjuster shopping i was horrified And the collision center couldn’t believe what was happening. They are the worst insurance company ever I would never recommend them to anyone they do not help anyone this company is the perfect example of putting company policies before human lives they ought to be shut down.

    Unfortunately we recently had an accident that totalled one of our cars, but luckily no one was hurt.     I spoke to and insured my auto and renters with MapFre. The agent was located in North Andover. She was very helpful, however, I have not received my new registration. I called and e mailed her and she never answered me. I'm disappointed, if a question like this has gone unanswered what will happen if I need her for a claim. So I should say, after going over my paperwork, the agent was from AAA NorthEast, Andover, Ma. The policy was sent from MapFre Webster. None of this helps me with my missing registration.

    Mapfre should provide an email to receive praises for specific employees. I was not able to locate an email; therefore, I'm writing this praise online. Due to the pandemic, apparently my payments that I had been making through my bank were being sent snail mail, and unbeknownst to me, the payments were late. I had received a notification of pending cancellation if Mapfre did not receive payment, which appeared to be odd to me. I had called several times to customer service, where the representative would tell me to wait. No one spent the time to review my accounts; as I had home and auto insurance with Mapfre. My policy for my home was canceled, as I was making additional payments to my auto insurance, thinking I was making payments to my home insurance. It was not until I called again, and Glenis Ratcliff had answered my call. She was patient, reviewed all of my accounts with me, and straightened everything out. If anything had happened to my home, there would have been no coverage. Thank heavens for Glenis Ratcliff, who couldn't have been more patient and nice.     My car got hit on the highway by a flying pipe. :-0 Had it towed the same day to my mechanic, and the adjuster was there quickly to appraise the damage. I had the car repaired at an approved body shop near my house, and everything went very smoothly. I was surprised and pleased! I expected some sort of hassle, but there was none! The body shop did an excellent job with the repair, as well! :-)

    My car was hit by a deer. It was a traumatic experience for me and I didn't realize how anxious I was until after the fact. My adjuster helped me with choosing an auto repair place. Auto repair helped me with a rental and between my insurance and AAA I didn't have a charge. Also, I have a vanishing deductible and my deductible was reduced because of that. I was warned by the auto repair place and insurance company that due to supply chain shortages, it may take longer than usual for repairs. It took 1.5 weeks for the repairs. Not bad at all. I felt I was well taken care of. I received text messages from both the insurance company and the repair shop to keep me up to date with progress. I was very pleased. I have been a Mapfre customer for many years and do not plan to change insurance companies. I recommend Mapfre to everyone.

    Cancelling my motor home insurance was so easy. The person who handled my call cancelled this policy so easily. I didnt need to submit any paperwork.she looked up all my information and the date I cancelled the plates.I don’t know if other insurance companies have access to the RMV but Mapfre does!

    MAPFRE estimated damage to my car at $721. I contacted three MAPFRE "preferred" body shops and each of them estimated the damage at ~$1,000 higher. MAPFRE customer support did not help. Having saved money, MAPFRE is going to lose my auto and homeowner's insurance business. Who needs an insurance company that collects your insurance premiums and denies coverage? Here's another one. MAPFRE refused to offer collision and comprehesive coverage for cars purchased from an out-of-state dealer. Picky, picky. As a result, instead of adding two cars to an autoinsurance policy they lost two they already covered. When the time comes to renew my howowners insurance, I will move it to another insurance provider just to express my disgust with MAPFRE's business practices.
