M&T Bank W High St, Gettysburg

Avoid at all costs! Gestapo tactics by the manager. Good luck doing things you're legally & lawfully entitled to on behalf of a parent or loved one. Manager refused to allow transparent, legal estate planning on behalf of my parent at this branch. She violated PA law by refusing to recognize notarized legal documents. Considering suing her and the bank! Avoid them.

This is by far the worst m&t I’ve ever dealt with. If I could leave 0 stars I would. I can deal with the understaff issues, I can deal with the occasional mess ups as everyone is human. What I cannot deal with is being badgered by the tellers, not once but twice, about what my cashed check is being used for OUT OF MY OWN BUSINESS ACCOUNT...UNBELIEVABLE!

This bank is the best. If you ever have a problem, talk to Tony or anyone staff member at the bank first and see what options you have. They are always looking our for your best interests!!! Thanks M&T for being tremendously loyal!!

Loan officer told me they would keep my application open for 90 days. When i tried to contact him 2 weeks later, he would not respond to phone calls or emails. Very unprofessional.

Came to the Gettysburg branch to open a new account...they only had ONE person who could do that! I sat outside her office for over an HOUR while I could hear her cackle & laugh with the customer that was in there! Supposedly she knew we were waiting. Then she finally came out with the customer, walked right by us without a single word and went outside to continue cackling & carrying on with the husband who was in the car! Well, needless to say, I won't be opening an account with M & T. What a joke! Come Monday, ill be on the phone with the HQ to complain about my experience! Do yourself a favor, choose another bank!

I and my wife have gone into this branch a couple times. The woman with glasses and short curly hair is so rude. I no longer can go to the front cashier because that woman I'd rude and should not work in customer relations or teller. The lead staff should do something about her attitude. I am considering moving banks due to her continual rude attitude.

We've banked with M&T for years. The gettysburg branch has the most caring,loyal to their word, helpfull staff I've seen in quite a while. I highly recommend this branch

I went in here to do simple exchange of money of half change and half cash so I could get a roll of quarters to do laundry because my housing development requires quarters for the Washing machine. I was suggested by the surrounding stores to go to this bank because they don’t see why a BANK couldn’t do that exchange. I was greeted but with no eye contact, no smile and a very low tone voice(I did not get the name of the lady but this exchange happened around 2 p.m. 10/23/19) I asked if I could do the exchange, she then told me she couldn’t t do it because the coins I had weren’t in rolls themselves so that would mean she would have to do it herself( which I’m sure is not a hard task to do) which I didn’t understand why, she then continued to count my change and then also came up with I needed an account to do so. I had $6 in cash and the rest in change for a roll of $10 worth of quarters. I then asked to get information on setting up an account to which I was told that a Certain lady wasn’t there to give me the information or set me up with an account I assume. I was handed no brochure, no paperwork, or anything to set up An account to which they told me I should just set one up online which I did not know you could do. I then walked across the street to the beer store where they were more than kind, they had no problem with doing the exchange and also did not know why a BANK could not exchange money for money. I was talked to in a rude way she wasn’t Blatantly rude but was very Sarcastically rude and seemed to talk to me as if I was slow or a child. I WILL NOT be setting up an account with them simply because of how I was treated for a simple exchange of money for money of the same amount. and I will also not suggest people go there. My advice to them is, if you don’t like your job find a new one, if you don’t like talking to people find a new job, if you are too lazy to put change in a change sleeve you shouldn’t be working at a bank. I don’t wish anyone to get in trouble for this but I would sure wish that SOMETHING was done by the way these lady’s treated me. And I’m sure they will tell a slightly different story to which I would say I have no reason to make this up I just wanted to do a simple exchange and was treated unfairly and felt rushed out. Thank you.

WORST EVER!!!!! I won't even give one star. I have never been so insulted and angry with a company in my life. It's a shame customer service for an existing member is what it is. Never once has a single person in this branch been helpful.

The tellers at this location are very helpful and have outstanding customer service skills.
