M&T Bank Reviews

I’ve been using this bank since moving back to New York and I have to say I’m not impressed. They consistently charge overdraft fees for the smallest of overdrafts and their app doesn’t process anything until a few days after the purchase is made meaning you could forget and overdraft easily. Then they charge you $38.50 for every few days. I’ve been almost $100 overdrawn and I live on Ssi. I can’t have that happen all the time. I will be switching banks

I do not have an account with this bank, however the experience that I had talking with the tellers and making it deposited for someone else was amazing. They were friendly, nice and prompt.

Prejudice! I do not have an account with M&T Bank. My checks are M&T issued. I have cashed 4 checks at this branch, the first time the woman that cashed my check, asked me a lot of personal questions, And then cashed it. Today, I went to the branch to cash my 5 th check that is an M&T issued bank check. I work in hotels and it is printed on the upper left hand corner of the check. The woman came to the desk and started asking me questions again like “ where do you bank?” I said I’m new here and don’t have an account with a specific bank yet. The. She said “ did you walk here? Did you drive here?” How the hell does that have anything to do with the task at hand. Then she asked for more identification. I told her I have cashed 4 checks here with just that I. D. And she said “ I’m just asking for further identification. So I have her my debit card and another form of i. D. Then she approved it and then came to me and said, while handing me an account brochure “ you should really think about opening an account with us, if you’re going to continue coming here to cash these kinds of checks.” I was flummoxed what did she mean by that? The check is an M&T issued check. Since when is a bank issued check suspicious, especially when the bank you came to cash it at, it the bank that issued the check? Weather I have an account with them or I don’t. It is a M&T issued check which means I can cash as many of them as I would like. I think the woman who works there as a manager or the head of the desk there is a pretty good argument for birth control.
