Not happy with the service provided. My spouse got pneumonia while in the hospital, and an infection on the surgery incision, not counting that they have to open again to remove the hardware because it ripped while waiting to be discharged. Nursing staff is good but services are uncoordinated. Nurses doesn’t know who, Doctor, Dietitian, Physical and Speech Therapy, or Wound Doctor ordered or why except for what’s written on the computer system. And worst, among themselves. For example, wound doctor said he needs a high protein diet to help with the incision healing but speech therapist said he can’t eat anything. Or when the dietitian set a restricted diet for diabetes without notifying anyone not even me! Instead of adjusting insulin levels based on the diet needed for healing like normally happens in a healthy body. Most of the time I need to keep asking to talk to a doctor to explain what and why they are doing what they are doing! It’s frustrating and draining.

On February 22, 2022 Dr.Elliot George Arsoniadis performed: surgery on me because of cancer. I want to thank the doctor and his whole team which provided the best care I can imagine. I am so grateful that the team discovered my colon cancer at only stage one and surgery was a great treatment. I feel I have a second chance at life and want to live it to my fullest, again my greatest wishes and thanks to the doctor for his care. Love, Lucy and God Bless.

The place seems terribly understaffed. My wife was experiencing severe stomach pain and we waited in the lobby for five hours before she was finally admitted. They claimed that they 'lost her in the scramble', but I am not sure what 'scramble' they were talking about. It was a pretty calm Tuesday morning. Unfortunate, as all the staff members were very kind.

Have been coming here 7 years after they did my double lung transplant, I came in Monday with clots in my arm. I have been in pain, not being able to use my arm and they are denying me any relief from my pain. This morning I said just send me home, worst doctors ever in the 7 years.

I have been blessed to be treated with incredible friendliness, attentiveness, professionalism, and senses of humor by the wonderful valets, receptionists, techs, nurses, P.A.s, and doctors at the University of Minnesota over the past few months. Every day I walk in smiling because I know I'm in the best hands and am greeted with the warmest smiles. They've become such an important part of my life and I can't say enough good things about them. This says a lot because I'm not a big fan of traditional medicine. I am so thankful for the wonderful radiation oncology team. They have given me the best care and have always done it with a smile and genuine concern for my health. My oncologist, Dr. Lee, and P.A. Dawn Jenniges, are the sweetest people, so knowledgeable, and don't practice the typical assembly-line care. That makes a huge difference, especially for people who may be facing terminal or very serious cancers. They are the epitome of "good bedside manner." They never rushed our visits. It's been fun getting to know them. My radiation techs and physicists are so friendly and sincere. Rob, John, and Kristin greeted me warmly and explained everything on my first day and Kristin and Ethan have been with me almost every day since. They are phenomenal! Tony, Liz, Anne, Kate, Laura, Kaylen, and Sheila have been wonderful, too. I'm going to miss them all. Stacy and Aleeta are the receptionists and have been stellar since day one. I always looked forward to their smiling faces and sweet personalities each morning. Even the valets there are amazing (I'm especially going to miss seeing Casey and Gaylon!). I can't say enough good things about everyone there and I'm so thankful to have top-notch medical care so close to home. Over the past 6 weeks, I've gotten to know them all very well and they've been with me through what could have been a very difficult part of my life. I am blessed beyond measure!!! THANK YOU to everyone there for being so wonderful. I'm going to miss you and hope that the next time we meet won't be a scheduled appointment. :)

Horrible experience - admitted with diverticulitis and a perforated colon. Emergency room staff was great, but once admitted, I was left for two days in the clothes I was admitted in. The surgeons and attending doctor visited me, examined me and not once did they ask me if I was comfortable or if I needed help getting out of my clothes. The attending doctor ordered intravenous antibiotics (which worked) and also pumped me so full of fluid, I couldn't breathe (after being discharged, my body was distorted because of the amount of fluid - and I had to go to urgent care because I thought I was having an asthma attack - doctor said I had symptoms of congestive heart failure because of the amount of fluid I received in the hospital). While in the hospital, I told the nurse I couldn't breathe and was feeling anxious because of the fluid and she said she couldn't do anything because that's what the doctor ordered. If you go there, make sure you have a person that can be a strong advocate for you. You will definitely need it.

Called the nurse and had to wait an hour to be connected to her. She recommended I go to urgent care. I called urgent care and the dude put me on a hold for another one hour. I cant believe how terrible their service and communication is!

I had surgery here. They were very careful with all my allergies. Gave a lot of information pre-surgery. Doctor was knowledgeable. Pre registration was quick. They do currently require a covid test before surgery.

Understaffed, overcrowded, and every employee looks overworked. This hospital saved my dads life a few times and I’m grateful for that and his team of doctors and nurses but as a whole something drastically needs to change. Also saw so many nurses, or people in scrubs, outside smoking not far from the hospital. I wish that was done in a more private area because it looked trashy and careless and all I could picture was gross smelling sticky cigarette fingers.

Care at this facility is very negligent for people on Medicare. My mom was admitted being very sick and they ran a bunch of tests and found many medical issues but rather than look into them they just say follow up as out patient. Some are very serious issues such as cancer etc. Had to have emergency surgery once that was complete they refuse to look into any of the other issues. They just want to kick her out as fast as they can. They tell you to work with social worker who tells you to work with doctors. Doctors dismiss your concerns and wont listen to family on medical history and treatment. The doctors even yell at you and hang up on you. The doctor refer you to make complaint with patient administration but all they do is transfer you to their lawyers and then send you a letter 30 days later saying sorry that is the state of health care right now. No Tcu will take my mom because she is in such bad shape because they wont address any issues so she is stuck in the hospital suffereing. They make follow up appointments for outpatient care without consulting family to see if that would work. The doctors have lied to us multiple times and they are manipulating the care notes to support their decision to release her and cover their butts from a lawsuit. They are manipulating facts to not be true. They just dont care about elderly patients. They just want to pas them on to someone else. It leaves the family very scarred, angry and loosing faith in medical care. My poor mom continues to suffer with no help insight.

For the past 2 days my mom was crying in excruciating pain after slipping and falling on ice 1 week prior. Her pain originating from her glutes radiate to her entire body causing her lower back, abdomen and arms to swell also. Her lower back x-ray and head MRI came back negative. The nurses forced her to walk as well as forcefully moved her twisting her causing her to agonize in even more pain saying she can walk she just don't want to. They never diagnosed why her entire body was in pain and why even when lying down in any position she was still in intense pain. Instead they kicked her out without doing a full thorough diagnosis. She's still crying even in pain now but have since then been too traumatized to want to go to a different hospital. Update: My mom was admitted into a different hospital and they found she has an infection that has spread to her lungs. Thanks M Health /sarcasm.

The health care system in the US is deteriorating and getting worse by the day. Hospitals are being run by MBAs who see everything as a product. Father is literally dying and these crooks have a “2 visits per day” limit. No compassion or sympathy left. Idiots leading one of the most important institutions within a society. This rant excludes nurses on the ground who work their behinds off!!

Health Condition Care Specialty Physician and other medical professionals who are keys in helping diagnose you and truly try hard to make sure your recent diagnosis case is better than the last time you came to see that treatment care physician.

It’s a very big hospital! My mother was staying there for couples days and the Dr and nurses are very nice ! It would be easier if their parking was closer !

I had some issues but they are working to resolve them it just took a bit of complaining which I hate doing to begin with but such is life. I will change my rating to reflect more accurately my experience is at this moment with them.

I was moved to four different rooms in two days. I was there 6 days. The last move was a more independent care. I had ICU care before that. Nurses had to ask for help for other nurses because they were not train on my care. I had a trach put in and was unable to talk. When I would push call button, I would get hung up on or asked if I needed Suction for trach. One evening I used the call button 5 times in several hours and other time I pushed the button 4 times. I waited a long time for help just to go to the bathroom. Staff hospital drs were only with me a minute or two. I was not able to ask questions. I did have some good RNs working with me that were very caring. I also had a very to ENT dr. I was told they are changing the hospital to all private rooms. Nurses Aids could not help with much of my care leaving it to the RN. I feel they need more RNs and trained staff. Someone also messed up on my exit papers so I could not get air that I needed. Still don't have it and I am hope. Scary!

The observation unit is who would get zero stars if I could. Inpatient 5 stars! Dr. Kruthi Shukla and Idil Mohammed are not only the worst doctors. They make observation miserable with their power trip and lies about other doctors. Make you wait an hour past medication time just because, stand over you talking down and rude to you when you being there pays their mortgage. Terrible people and doctors (pa) make the whole hospital look bad and uncaring. Part of what's wrong with the medical industry. If you are given them request someone else.

The whole entire experience with this place is ridiculous. By the way, 1 star is really pushing it but there’s no selection for -10 stars. I was supposed to have a procedure done today and once my mom and I arrived, we got told I need to give a urine sample, alright. Well once I got that they let it sit in the room for a good hour and a half and being reminded they need to make an order on it. They told my mom the results which is against HIPPA because they never asked me if it was okay to let my mom know the results. They also took a blood test and told my mother to leave because it’s against HIPPA for her to be in there to share results with her, when they already broke that law. They let me know that they needed to re-take my blood sample because they put it in the wrong tube!!! I got up and left the building because they messed up so many times. This place is unorganized. My procedure was scheduled for 10:30am and I got up and left at 1:30pm brcause I was honestly scared for what they were going to do wrong during my procedure. This place is horrible!!!!

Where do i start? Friday surgery had complications that the patient forewarned were likely. Was left in observation unit for 3 nights...I assume because of the rigid administration but who knows. Weekend was under staffed and wouldn't move her to inpatient status. Screaming at a level 10 pain for nearly 2 hours at two different times during the 3rd day while the ONE surgical doctor made rounds and then only ordered one dose of IV pain meds after she said she would order ongoing dosage for overnight. Wouldn't listen to the patient, didn't seem to care about her complicated health history and her individual needs. "We don't do it that way" was the resounding message. Even as a personal advocate, I got little response and no respect until we complained up the chain of command. No private rooms available. MICE in the main lobby waiting room. When I told security I was told "I know. We set traps." Public toilet I used Saturday had the same fecal splatter on Sunday. Repulsively filthy bathrooms on every floor. The one star is for the surgeon who did a great job on the actual surgery. The rest of the surgical team waffled between neglect and abuse. I'm so grateful my family member is changing his own surgery away from this location after I relayed the experience. I have had nothing but good experience with the Fairview clinics, but this hospital was like a 3rd world country with socialized health care.
