Lake Trust Credit Union Chicago Dr, Jenison

We have had an RV loan with Lake Trust Credit Union and it has not been the best customer experience that we have ever had. There are fees for everything that you want to do, it is difficult when you want to make extra payments, and we have to leave messages for call backs when wanting to speak with customer service. Once you are able to speak with someone, their services are not always timely. We have recently purchased another RV and are using another credit union to get away from Lake Trust CU. We only use Credit Unions for our financials but we won't be using this one again.

Their internet and mobile banking are unwieldy. No interest on checking accounts, and notifications for account changes are a week or more delayed. They have been cutting back on services consistently ever since they stopped being State Employees Credit Union. I have been a member since 1991 and I am dissolving my account. Lake Michigan Credit Union is the place to be in the Grand Rapids Area.

We have been members for a very long time. Great tools and resources. Excellent customer service.

This review is not for this branch of Lake Trust, but for the whole credit union. I would encourage anyone to run far away from using this credit union. I only have an auto loan with them and it has been a nightmare. Paying my car loan online requires a lot of steps and inputting my Soc. # and account #s every time. It also requires multiple webpages and an additional password. They cannot take payments over the phone unless you have other accounts with them. When I asked if I could make a payment at a branch location the first option she said was to use my debit card for a cash advance. Once I asked if I could write a check she said "of course", sorry I think that should have been my first option instead of getting fees for using a different debit card! In the future I will be using bill pay but since this was a new loan It hasnt been set up yet. I was not expecting a credit union to be so much hassle. I definitely was not expecting them to be so ancient with there web design and technology. I do not recommend them.

Got an auto loan through them and its been nothing but terrible. I prefer to use their online services to schedule my payments, but it seems like every time I need to schedule a payment the website refuses to work until my payment would be scheduled late. But hey I'll give a second star for the fact that getting the loan wasn't difficult. Just sucks that paying it is a nightmare.
