Lake Michigan Credit Union 68th St, Byron Center

Have a business account with them and it is incredibly frustrating that they wont break large bills for my employees when I send one in to make change. Claim they need to be an authorized user on the account. Alternative is they want to swipe an ID to make change for a $20. (My staff really loves having their ID tracked to make change! insert eyeroll here) We are not making a withdrawal, just breaking a bill into smaller denominations. Attempted to play their game and it took the teller 5 minutes to process breaking a $20. Teller had to break out a manual to get instructions to break my $20. I asked the teller to help me understand why this is all necessary and they had no explanation. Just a blank look. Meanwhile manager Corey (Sp?) is hiding in her office and won't come out to help the teller who clearly needed some back up. Definitely not the easiest bank to do business with in the area and it has gone downhill the last few years since she began managing this branch. Unfortunate as we don't struggle like this with other locations.

This location is SO much better than the one I used to have to go to. I just moved to this area and I'm so grateful for this branch. This one is very close and very convenient. (The one I had to go to in my old neighborhood was always packed and had an armed security guard and was still quite a drive.) I am always greeted nicely and everything is accurate and done in a timely manner. I see a couple people complaining the drive-thru is slower than what they would like. If you go there on a Friday, plan on it being longer as people go on Fridays to cash checks. Also, if the drive-thru is so long, get out of your car and go inside for service. :) I've never had a wait because I go inside. ;)

Janice is a lier. She dont return calls.. Said I didn't need to be self employees for a year like I asked before I requested a auto loan.. almost 2 weeks later multiple calls to loan officers & dealer and I were ready to close and suddenly my income isn't proof enough... Nothing but absolute hell! Even in the e mail of what was needed didn't say pending approval or anything about my income .. as a business owner I DO NOT RECOMMEND LMCU

Wish they had a no overdraft option but they like to scam you any way possible so

This branch is very close to my house and therefore I go there all the time and the service is great the people are nice and the lines usually aren't too long

Was surprised today to show up and find out my bank paid my mortgage payment for me this month! How awesome is that! The staff was awesome👌and Tabitha the Manager or senior teller was extremely helpful as were the other tellers.

I’ve only been with this Credit union for a short period of time but I’m so glad I switched to LMCU. The staff are all very nice and go the extra mile to make sure you’re happy.

Heard from two realtors they dont close timely. Which was the whole reason i joined the cu. And an electrician with an 800 credit score said they wouldnt loan him money. So when I went in to close my acct. They kept my 5 dollars. Smh

Every time I go here it takes FOREVER. I have waited 25 minutes in the drive through before with only 1 car ahead of me and I am currently here and have been waiting 10 minutes at the drive through and have not even been greeted yet. This is ridiculous.

Saying that's not my job over and over to members must be their mission statement. Nice to know the bill pay support staff couldn't care less about having their job.
