L G & E Credit Union Reviews

The automated phone system for bill payment has been unresponsive to account numbers as keyed and terminates the call. Upon speaking with a representative (long wait times), there have been no additional supports provided. On the bright side, for those who are able to download the app, it is pretty simple to render payment. I feel for those who are not familiar with phone apps or able to manage their accounts electronically. I wish there were other local options, as this company seems to be extremely expensive.

We've left our heat in the 60s this winter and the bill this month was up 35% from last month! For having left our heat practically off all season and walking around our home in jackets, blankets, etc., we expected a price DROP. I looked into it and it looks like LG&E has done that to pretty much everyone. Just sad that when there's a pandemic, they're looking to capitalize. Not to mention the fact that we've lost power several times for various reasons, some of which included a technician's error and recklessness. Horrible company!

If I could give LG&E ZERO stars i absolutely would. The WORST customer service I have ever dealt with. This company sneaks fees on your bill so if you don't catch it, you're out of luck and if you catch it you have to spend a looooong time arguing with them about it. And they never admit to their errors. The representatives are useless, the supervisors are useless. I have lived in 4 states and never dealt with a utility company as incompetent and as rude as this one. If they had a competitor I would go to them.

I am so frustrated with LG&E. I called for help and the phone recording said the wait time was approximately 20 minutes. I opted for a call back "in the order my call was received" vs holding. 1.5 hours later and no call back, so I called and waited on the line. I finally was connected about 25 minutes later. Then, the LG&E representative refused to believe me when I reported a large tree fell on my house and crushed the roof in. The structure is unsafe, so I wanted all gas and electric cut off. LG&E would not cut off the electric and gas until they sent someone out to verify my claim. I even offered to send photos! Their guy showed up quickly at least (1.5 hours) and confirmed the tree through the roof, but then he tells me he can only cut off the electric and I have to call LG&E back to have them send a gas representative. So, I am now on hold AGAIN with LG&E, waiting to talk with another person who probably won't believe me again just to get the had shut off and make the property safer! So infuriating!!

My voltage is 123.9 bolts in my home. I can not make coffee,It has a disgusting burnt taste. This will shorten the life of appliances, cause CFL bulbs to burn out. I had LG&E come out, they told me it was normal. Has anyone else had this problem or know what to do?

Awful, zero stars. We just moved here and I called a month in advance to set up new service, I have the phone records to prove it. We arrived from PA yesterday and they shut the gas and electric off. They claim they have no records of me or my phone call and cannot get out here until Wednesday July 6th to turn it back on at the earliest! Supervisor called us back and is still lying and saying I never called. It's a shame we have no other options for power. We have to take our 2 kids and cat back to a hotel for the next week.

Unlike others here who apparently were treated quite badly by LG&E, I had no complaint about service and maintenance until they started slaughtering a wide swath of trees in my area, then on my neighbor's property and mine as well. Looks like hell. Excessively many trees were cleared out of fear of a costly (to LG&E, who can get fined) outage. Why weren't we notified years ago that trees would be killed? I was contacted this summer, but ultimately they came earlier than they had claimed they would and set to work savaging the landscape. To ice the cupcake, I've seen then spraying herbicide all along the cut treeline on my neighbor's property. Must be toxic, because the worker spreading it wore a mask. Lymphoma, anyone? Plus, the area they're spraying is right by a portion of Harrods Creek. This has motivated more than anything ever before to buy solar panels and windmills and detach from the grid. Just a matter of time now... But wait -- there's more. Look up how LG&E ramrodded the new gas line through what was part of Bernheim Forest, gaslighting and trampling private property owners in the process. My sympathy goes out to others trampled, in various ways, by this ostensibly regulated, juggernaut of a nature-trashing monopoly. Solar energy for your home is rapidly becoming a viable and reliable option which will free you from LG&E's inevitable continuance of price increase. Residential solar panels have become cheaper and the efficiency has risen. Add a tasteful solar array, battery, and inverter to your home and you'll cut energy bills and increase resale value. GO SOLAR AS SOON AS YOU CAN.

I was laid off during the covid pandemic. I had a payment arrangement with them . I had trouble with one payment and they cut my power in 20 degree weather and I have 3 kids the youngest is 6.

I’m sorry but they take forever to answer the phone it’s ridiculous!!’ My bill has doubled 300+ this is unacceptable, there definitely should be another electric company we can use in Louisville, because I would switch so quick. Customer service is horrible!!!!!’

Horrible customer service. They can never "locate a technician". Furthermore, the fact that they are the only company to service Louisville is sickening. Do better LG&E.

I am so very thankful for several LG&E employees. They have prevented a possible tragedy and helped to keep my family safe. My lights had started to flicker throughout the evening. We never lost electricity but the flickering was concerning. I contacted the customer service line the next morning. I told her that it looked like the flickering had stopped. I asked if there had been any other reported problems that could have been connected to my flickering. The customer service representative did not discover any other reports of electrical problems in my area. I told her it was all okay now and we would leave it at that, however she disagreed. She recommended I get my home checked out by a repairman anyway. The electrical repairman showed up at my door late that evening. I was surprised someone was still working that late. He said that there is always an LG& E repairman available, even through the night. He proceeded to check my box/voltage meter. When he knocked on the door again, he gave us the bad news that we had to turn our electricity off due to a potential fire hazard. Over time, a bracket had broken, and negative/ positive lines were extremely close to touching, which could lead to arcing. He gave us time to prepare lanterns, and then he turned off the electricity to our home. A reputable electrician showed up at 9am the next morning, replaced and fixed what needed to be fixed. He contacted LG& E to return to our home and turn our electricity back on, which they did quickly. Within 12 hours, our potential tragedy was avoided and repaired due to the hardworking, available LG& E employees. My family cannot thank you enough!

Power kicks off once or twice EVERY day for six months (ever since I’ve lived here) on the entire grid in 40291 (not just my place). My wife’s coworker is a mile or two away and has the same issues each and every time that we do. My wife works for a call center at home, so it then takes her 10 to 15 minutes to reboot her entire system, explain to her work what happened AGAIN, and then explain what happened to her customer she was on the phone with AGAIN. But hey, LG&E is the only option and they make it so you can’t get through to an actual person, so who cares right? I may as well have not wrote this at all lol.

"Pratt said demand for gas was low in 2020 due to the pandemic, therefore prices were low." How does this even make sense? During the pandemic. people were stuck at home therefore, demand for gas should have gone up right? I received my bill for January and I am being charged damn near 300 dollars for a 1000 sq. ft. home with a brand new furnace, temp set at 68 so its not even too hot. Customer service is polite enough over the phone but whomever runs this company has a monopoly with a 2 million dollar salary. CROOKS.
k
Customer service hangs up before customer is allowed to do the survey!! It’s some sneaky tactics of getting good ratings. Someone should look at it. The only time I have been on the phone long enough to complete the survey is when the rep feels it’s a good call

We desperately need another company in Louisville. I would switch in a heartbeat. My bill has doubled. Last year it sucked getting a $300+ bill. But now I have been getting $500+ bills. Even more confusing is that I took precautions like sealing windows and cracks by the doors so that I wouldn't get the $300 bills. Now it's more. They don't explain just tell you to pay or get shut off. Customer service is robots. You have to be to work for them. Tired of the monopoly. Anybody please

Before I automatically give a poor rating I'd like to talk to someone, and try to get a answer as to why such a higher bill. I will be in this home a yr as of nx month. In the fall I had insulation n windows done. My temperature stay on 64-67. Kinda cool at time's but I use electric blanket n for the most part when I'm here I have my thick robe on, now if someone else lived here they wouldn't be happy. Plus I work at least 48-50 hrs a week. Not even here so that's why I'm lost having a bill 150 that jumped 2 300 n it's only me living here

As a Louisville resident I am forced to go through this terrible company bc there are no other options. They estimated my usage higher than it actually was. A representative admitted that at times the usage is estimated, but would not say that they estimate it higher. Bc there are no other providers, they get away with raising (price gouging) rates, and we are forced to pay it. They get away with doing whatever they want bc there are no other providers/competition in Louisville. There is nobody to hold them accountable. You can read similar complaints all day on here and you can ask throughout the Louisville area, and nobody is happy with LG&E. Something needs to be done about this!

My neighbors have money to buy giant SUVs and trucks but not to maintain their yards and trees , even though I now have zero large trees in my yard and numerous complaints to the city and lge to trim trees I lose electricity for 10 hours AGAIN this happens yearly due to the fact that lge will not trim trees ..my home is 100 percent electric. I lose power in summer and winter. Louisville has many many problems but lge needs to go

I've lived in 8 or 9 different states and have worked with at least 10 different companies - the lack of service seems criminal. If only 10% of the horror stories are true, this company needs to be shut down.
T
Absolutely terrible service, you serve a major city so in the event of a power outage there should be an immediate response team to rectify the situation however they’ve made no efforts to even let people know as to when they’ll turn the power back, not can you contact them to see worst experience I’ve ever had. I would do no starts if I could
