Purchased a used Expedition from Joe Machens Capital City Ford and had a great experience. I found the car on cars.com and when I called I spoke with Sara Myers. She was able to provide details about the vehicle, answered my questions, and made an “out of town” buying experience easy. Within 24 hours we were headed to Jeff City and the truck was ready to go when I arrived. Price discussions were straight forward and I received a very fair price for my trade in vehicle. Sara made the whole process enjoyable and I’d highly recommend her and the whole Joe Machens team that made this a great experience! Oh, and the service waiting area has Starbucks coffee and ICE CREAM!!! I love my 19 Expedition Max!

This was the best car buying experience. The staff was friendly and straight forward. We drove 2+ hours to buy our vehicle from them. Our local Ford dealership left us disappointed and without the vehicle I wanted. We found the same Make, model, year and color here and they made it happen! I got the car I wanted at a fair price . (Robert) Robbie Pigford was excellent. I have never had a better experience buying a car or visiting a dealership ever in my life. Robert answered my cal helped me to know if what I was looking for was on the lot and then helped me with questions about the vehicle. I let him know I would be there in a few hours. Upon arrival he already had the vehicle waiting for us remembered my name and was incredibly nice. We went for a test drive and my wife and I knew it was perfect. Therefore, we said let's go do paperwork. He took all of our information and his boss ran it found us multiple lenders inside of 45 minutes we were signing papers and ready to own a new vehicle. I would strongly recommend going to see Robert to anyone needing a vehicle as he was super easy to work with and talk to. We are super pleased with his professionalism and ability to help us!

Mike Rogers did a fabulous job finding the Bronco Sport with the features I was looking for (and found a Ford bonus to add a trailer hitch I wanted). Billy Underwood secured the financing (crunching some numbers to get us there!), then Doug Keeler got me set up with extended warranty and other goodies I was looking for, wrapping up the paper work. These guys were a fabulous team, making for a positive car buying experience! They are all professionals, who respect and appreciate their customers. Mike has followed-up to make sure all is well with my new Ford, which tells me that customers are valued even after they drive off the lot. Speaking of which, leaving behind my 14-year old Escape, was tough. We’ve had a lot of adventures together over the years. But, I’m looking forward to the new adventures my 2022 Bronco Sport Big Bend 4x4 will have. They’re out there waiting!

Our purchase was extremely easy. Sales people very, very friendly and helpful. The only issue we had was when we were sent to the finance guy. He was very nice and polite until we declined to purchase any of his additional "add on" items like their add'l insurance and gap. His demeanor changed and he made no eye contact from then forward. When we finished up, he merely slid our papers across the desk and said "there you go". This is the only reason this dealership did not get a 5 star.

Took our escape that we had bought about 6 months earlier in for an oil change and maintenance. I had asked for the 30,000 mile service (since that's what we were at) but was told an oil change and tire rotation would cover. They said I could just walk in the next day for it. The walk in was a failure because they were understaffed and I had to schedule it for about two weeks out when we got there I was told they recommended the Ecoboost fuel and brake fluid service at 30k miles. I agreed to it, another $200, but I would have preferred to hear about it up front. We decided to wait since that is our only vehicle. After about an hour my wife got a text saying we needed two new tires and an alignment and it would be another $600. I couldn't believe with the amount of money we were being asked for and a dealership whose focus is on customers they couldn't bother to send someone 50 feet to the waiting room to talk to us or show us the issues or give us options. It ended when their cashier slid her windows open for us and hollered for us, again could be bothered to walk the 20 feet to come get us. At least they got it done in the time promised. Customer experience isn't rocket science, but it's something most managers overlook because they don't take it seriously. I was looking at dropping another $600 on accessories for a trailer hitch, but am considering shopping around after this experience.

Next time I buy a car it’s going to be in Jeff City at Machens Ford. I think there are 20 Ford dealers in St Louis. Why would I do that? I worked with salesmen Braden, and then Christian (switched to used). My finance manager was Jamie. They were all great. I drove 100 miles (from St. Louis) one way just to get a polite and friendly experience. They offered to delivery the vehicle to my driveway (new one). I put a $500 deposit down to hold an allocated vehicle in the pipeline (not on the lot). It never showed after 6 weeks due to 2022 auto part shortages world wide. Unlike two Ford dealers in St Louis, Machens let me back out. This is fair given it was an allocation. Two dealers in St Louis saw it differently. I am out $1000 on two similar deposits when, also after 6 weeks, there was no chance of getting their allocation vehicle in a reasonable amount of time, also stuck at factory). Again. Got my $500 no questions asked at Machens. I found a used car online the next day and bought using the Ford Gold Certification process. This gives a “new car purchase feeling) and got a used car with a real bumper to bumper Ford 12 month warranty included at a fair price (under 80,000 mile used Ford vehicles only). The Ford certified vehicle process is thorough. New tires, two key fobs, etc. Salesman Braden was always fast to respond and put up with my non stop” when is my new arriving?” pestering very well. Christian did the final sale and even helped make a short phone video for the wife. The car was reconditioned perfectly (required by Ford Gold but still a great effort). Used cars are full of surprises normally. A hobbyist racing part modification in the engine was disclosed promptly and we negotiated over it fairly. It was not visible to the untrained eye (so a lot of dealers probably wouldn’t disclose it). I have bought probably a dozen cars over the years at many dealers, and always dread the finance manager portion. Finance manager Jamie was amazing. First time in 35 years of buying cars I liked the Finance Manager. No surprises. The Machens website was like all the others but they follow the honor code. Other dealers were putting “stock numbers” on cars still in transit (bad). I liked checking in everyday and knowing “in stock” meant “in stock” (time to pester Braden! Sorry Braden.) Thanks Machens!

I’ve been three months trying to get a radio fixed that they said they would fix before I bought the car. They have jacked me around and I’m considering getting a lawyer. Billy underwood said he would call me in about ten minutes. Well that was 4 days ago so I guess he is running on Gods time. Austin straight up stopped answering any of my texts. I’ve done business here before and they were great. This time they are losing my business real fast. Update: I took this from a one star to a three star. They did finally correct the problem. They got me a rental car for the two days that my car was at service. Unfortunately, the rental wreaked of cigarettes but, my car did come back and is in fine working order. I appreciate them fixing the issue for me.

The car buying process was great! Finace guy seemed a little upset when I didn't get the extended warranty. Also, a personal item was taking out of my trade in vehicle before I could clean it out. That was very disappointing. However, I love my Jeep great price!

Was just informed that after being a 30 year customer and purchasing over 30 vehicles from this dealership they will be charging a premium on the Raptor R that I left a deposit for over a year ago! This is after I attempted to purchase a GT500 that was a month away and found out I would be paying a $10,000 premium on that! I was told I was lucky as anyone else would be paying $20,000!!!!!!!! When I expressed my hesitance to pay the premium I was told I could have my deposit back!!! They have sold me their last vehicle. Very sad that Machens has turned out this way! I Wish Mike Kehoe was still involved, he would never had left this happen! Edit: in response to the reply below: The general manager,Tom Stegman, is the one who informed me I would now pay premiums on any high end vehicle from Machens from now on. I hope that $10,000 premium is worth loosing future customers and new sales to old customers.

Service Department is the worst to deal with. I have given them 3 different tries and left frustrated and mad each time. Made an appt for an oil change. Came in, waited 2 hours then was told they don’t have the oil filter and asked if I could come back 2 days later. Made another appointment for them to check a noise the vehicle was making. Dropped car off at 7:45AM was never contacted all day about the car. Called and left message at 5:15 to finally get a return call at 5:29. Told 3 different people drove the car but couldn’t find anything. Strange how 3 different Techs drive the vehicle yet my odometer only changed by 1 mile. I can see all the information of my vehicle on a APP. Told they only drove it in the parking lot. Asked if they could try it again in the morning. Was basically lied to because they either didn’t want to mess with my vehicle or have time. Just be honest. Also what is the point of making an appointment if they don’t even look at your vehicle until 5 mins before they close. Do not use them. I would ask for a manager but feel that would not make any difference. They don’t seem to care if you are not satisfied with their service.

Not a fan of this Ford dealership. Traveling through, needed a tire repair, left vehicle 1.5 days & no one could spare the time to do this simple repair. Fortunately I found a local shop who was much more cooperative & professional who did the repair.

Excellent service. I told the salesman what we would like in a vehicle. Four days later he had one on the lot with that met our specs and them some other features. 10/10 would recommend.

Last year I tried getting my suv fixed. Sakelaris in Camdenton wasnt much help. Dead end after dead end, I didnt feel taken care of and they didnt have very good customer service!!! My car started acting up again yesterday. My steering wheel locked up as I was driving it. I was frantic. Then I called Joe Machens in Jeff City, & wow! Wonderful advice, wonderful service, very considerate and kind! Casandra took my info, we realized there was a recall on my suv, she gave me a t# for Tow-Pro & they picked up my vehicle in a very timely manner & Casandra said nothing would be charged to me being it was a recall. Thank you all so much for all your help. You guys truly are awesome!!! You've earned my business. Sakelaris lost it. Again.

Bought a 2021 Mustang Mach E and I very much love the car. However I wouldn’t trust the prices on the website at all. It’s a total bait and switch. The car was listed at $47k and I did my credit app thru Ford, was approved, set up my estimated payments etc. I then drove from Columbia (30+ miles) the next morning, got to the dealership and the price they gave me was $4k more than it was listed on the website. Total bait and switch scenario and yes I still bought the car but after much negotiation. Got the price down some however it was still more than it was listed on the website. Sure supply and demand but had I known this was going to be the case with the car being more expensive after I had got there, I would’ve taken my business to somewhere else.

We had bought 5 new vehicles from Machens in the past. We recently tried to purchase a 2021 Bronco. They insulted us by only offering $14,000 for our trade and wanted $3000 over sticker . They would not work with us. We then tried a Ford dealer out of town, who was more than willing to work with us. The dealer offered us $20,000 for our trade along with a rebate. They made unlike Machens buy a vehicle a pleasurable experience. They put the needs of the customer first,great customer service. We will never buy from Machens.

I have tried to contact the service person through phone and emails. I was confused on the billing, no return. Plus it took two weeks longer then my appointment. I used to love and trust this dealership. I will do everything in my power to not patronize them. I will probably even change from buying a Ford just bc of this dealership and few others I have come across in my travels. Chevy better pick up their game and they will have a new costumer. On top of that it really seems like they are lying to you. Not the feeling I want.

Bo Heavin was wonderful to work with. He listened to what we had to say-the price I could pay, the features I'd like, and the timetable I was on. He explained the car's features very thoroughly and didn't try to sell me something I didn't need or couldn't afford. Bo went with us on a test drive and explained more of the car's features. The two finance associates were very helpful and explained all the forms. After I drove the car home, we realized one of the headlights was not working. I called Bo the next day and he asked me to bring in the car and the headlight would be fixed. On the way to the dealership another minor problem was noticed . Both problems were corrected and Bo filled up the gas tank for letting him correct the problems. Bo has kept in contact with me through calls and texts to make sure I am happy with my purchase. I would definitely recommend Bo and the dealership to future buyers.

Five star rating for Roberto and Ben on our used car purchase. They took care of some minor issues after the sale without any hesitations. Loose one star for having to go through the required Business Manager visit at the end of the sale. I know Josh was just doing his job but be sure to read the fine print at the end of sale. Nothing bad against Josh he was just doing his job. Overall everything went well.

I came to look at the Ford Flexes I had seen online. They had two of the three on the lot. We met with Jordan, looked at both, test drove one of them, and decided to buy. The loan officer stayed late to complete our paperwork. He found us a more competitive interest rate to match what the manager at the used car office had told us. While my husband and I were completing paperwork. Jordan set with my teenagers and showed them how to use the electronic features in the car. Once we got our car home, we notice two chips in the window and Jordan got them repaired. I really like my new car.

Great Experience! My vehicle was totaled after being hit so I was suddenly out a vehicle. The website is very detailed and helpful so I had a good idea what I wanted. I made a quick call to set up a test drive and Sam was ready to help. I was taken care of promptly and professionally. This is the 4th car I have purchased and this experience was very stress free! I'm already a Ford girl at heart so I knew I would love the vehicle but the excellent service made the experience just as smooth as my new ride :-)

After getting My car back from the Ford Service Dept along with a list stating My 99 Point Inspection had been done and everything was "Good" I checked...My Power Steering Fluid was very low and there was hardly any My Break Fluid in My car. So if They can't be Honest about something as simple as Fluids, how am I to Trust any of Their work??? I DON'T NOW!! I used to be a Loyal Ford Customer...That is "USED TO BE!"

I bought a truck 3 months ago, at the time I bought it the door ajar light would not go off. They told me that it was a sensor and that it would be fixed. Three months later it is back on and I took the panel off and all they had done was splice wires and put electrical tape on the harness rather than putting a new harness in. Hope this is not how they do all their work by cutting corners. Be careful with the repair shop, make sure to check their work.

They always take care of any question or issues that arise during my vehicle ownership and service is very good. The only exception was when covid 19 impacted everything but they did a great Job with limited staff. I purchased a new expedition in March. The purchase was nice and because Machens staff brought the vehicles to my home for viewing and test drives. The sale was finalized on my back deck. Deal was completed at my residence including paper work.

I bought my used vehicle there and have been very pleased with it. I am trying to have all of my service completed in their service department but have a couple of issues. The employees are friendly pleasant folks but just can't seem to get the timing down on simple maintenance tasks. The first time I took it in for an oil change, etc., I was told I didn't need to make an appointment - just bring it in and leave it and they would call me when it was done. Told them that since I lived 30 miles away that just wouldn't work and that I would wait for it. Took about two hours but finally got it done. This last time (today), I had actually made an appointment. I was given two times to choose from - I picked the 11:00 am. Got there 15 minutes early but they immediately took my car to the shop. I was asked if I was waiting or leaving. I indicated I would be leaving so was then asked what would be the latest time I would accept. I replied that I guess 2:00 would be the absolute latest (trying to be considerate of possible problems that might arise for them). I told them I would be back long before that though. I arrived back at approximately 12:30 with no signs of my car service being completed. At 1:30 I finally asked at the service window about it. She said she would go back and check. I saw her leave and come back but she offered no further comment. Finally at 2:15 they had the car ready for me. My whole point to this long drawn-out narrative is - why do they make appointments when it appears they have no intention to adhere to the scheduled time????? I admit that their waiting room is not a terrible place but to sit for any undue amount of time is certainly not pleasant. What should have taken no more than an hour took them over three hours! If I lived or worked in Jefferson City, all of this runaround would probably not be an issue BUT that is not the case. They either need to forego making appointments or honor the times that are scheduled.

Dealer consistently charges over MSRP. Do not shop here, there are plenty of dealerships that’s will take your money and not steal a little extra off the top because the “the market dictates it.” Every time you buy a car from a dealer that does this you’re incentivizing the practice. Dealer has been reported to Ford for price gouging.

We truly had an amazing experience at Joe Machens Capital City Ford, and specifically our time spent with Brent Simmons. Often times when you go to a dealership, you feel as though you are not being heard but rather pushed into a direction they want you to go- and by the time you leave, you feel that you have been taken advantage of. That was not the case at Joe Machens Capital City Ford. From the minute we walked on the lot we felt welcomed and like people, not numbers. Brent truly listened to our wants/needs and made them happen, and he didn't just make them happen- he exceeded our expectations. Purchasing our new car at Joe Machens was an extremely stress free and smooth process with special thanks to Ron Murphy. He helped us through the entire process and was never pushy and was very honest. Went to Joe Machens to find my daughter her very first car and Shawn Wagner was outstanding EVERY step of the way through the entire process! I have recently purchased a Ford Fusion from Joe Machens Ford. Mike Rogers was my sales representative and he treated me like I was the most important person around. Note: Mike was also my sales rep when I purchased a 2011 F-250 from then Kehoe Auto Group. I approached Mike with what I was interested in and he immediately checked all of the Machens inventory, being unable to find exactly what I wanted. He when on line and found my match at another dealer and plans were made to make a dealer trade. This all took place on I believe a Wednesday or Thursday. I advised that I would not be ready to close the deal until the following Wednesday. Promptly at 9:00 a.m. on that Wednesday Mike and I looked the car all over and he explained how various functions worked. I then signed the papers with Terry Bradshaw and was off with my beautiful Ford Fusion Titanium. My experience with Joe Machens Ford was very satisfactory. I would highly recommend Mike Rogers for your car needs or in my case "wants". He was very professional, personable and helpful.

Bought a new 2015 f150 pickup, paint is starting to bubble and pop off on my truck in two different places, went in to talk to them about the problem, they acknowledge that this was a problem on some of the trucks, took down my information finally informed me that they were not going to do anything about it because my truck was out of warranty, this is a factory failure and should be fixed by ford! Very disappointed! Buyers beware!

I am giving the used car lot a 5 star and the service department a 3 star! I recently purchased a certified preowned Ford Escape from Joe Machens used car lot. After just a couple days the car started running rough and there was a distinct noise coming from the front wheel. I returned to the car lot and was told to take it to the service side. I made a appointment and dropped it off at 7 am for service. At the end of the day I still had not hear a thing from the service department as to what was wrong with it. The next day went by and so at the end of the second day and no communication from the service department I went by the used car side and was told by Billy that he would find out what was going on and get back with me. And he did! After this I was offered a vehicle to drive while I waited. Many days passed and it was like pulling teeth to get information from the service department on progress. Finally I was called and told it was fixed. I went to pick it up and before I could get out of the service parking lot it was doing the same darn thing!!! Billy said he would find me a different Escape/same year/approximately same miles and trade me even up and so he did!! The beautiful pearl white Escape he found me is even better than I expected! So this is why I give Joe Hertz, Billy Underwood and the Joe Machens Used car lot a A+ 5 star! I give the service department a D- 3 star! Poor communication and frankly they didn’t fix the problem after many days of working on it!!

Very disappointed in their service. We won't waste our time shopping at Joe Machens again. We paid a pretty penny for our old Ford Explorer, which we loved! When warranty service was needed, we weren't given the respect of even a phone call to let us know that our vehicle needed work. We weren't provided a rental until 4 days after we dropped off our vehicle, which was covered under our warranty. We traded our car in while it was still in Joe Machens shop because of how poorly we were treated and how poor the service was.

Actual work performed and shuttle service were great. I would have feedback for the person that took down my service call to schedule. They only gave the option of shuttle service or drop off. I normally like to wait on my vehicle regardless of how long it takes- I just bring my laptop. I asked about this a couple of times and it was like I was speaking to a robot. She just kept repeating the two options. If your waiting area is closed due to Covid- I get it, just tell me why I can't wait there. Just not personable up front, but Angie in service and the shuttle driver were top notch when I arrived. Thank you!

I recently purchased a used Mercury Milan and was very impressed with Curtis Jahr, my salesman. I would recommend him to anyone. The dealership was very professional but not overbearing. They answered all my questions and concerns. My experience was great (the smoothest I have ever had purchasing a car with a dealership). It was also great to have free drinks and ice cream during the process. Joe Machens Ford rocks! Much better than when it was the "other" guy! I am still getting free stuff in the mail.

I was extremely disappointed with their service department. I have received service there for many years, even before it was Machens. After an oil change and tire rotation service I left for home not knowing I had a very dangerous, belts fraying tire, that I drove home on. By the time I got home the tire was almost flat. Fortunately there was no blowout at highway speeds. The corrective action I received was an excuse, and "sorry." My Ford motor Company and Machens customer service survey was met with silence.
We never want to make any of our customers feel this way. Your business is important to us and we strive to make sure we do everything we can to make our customers feel welcome. It was a huge blessing compared to the normal process, being I drove from Oak Grove to pick up my truck. My salesman, Jacob, was awesome! The sales manager was great as well! I highly recommend Joe Machens to anyone looking for a new/used vehicle. The vehicle I purchased was used, but you could barely tell with how well it was cleaned, inside and out. The dealer seems to have a problem with communicating with us. After leaving our car at 8:30AM for regular service (appointment made before), no one called to inform us that our vehicle had not been serviced that day. I had to call myself late in the afternoon to find out this information. It’s a good thing we didn’t make plans for the next day as it was ready by noon. A courtesy call regarding our vehicle’s status would have been the right thing to do. The same thing has happened on previous occasions.

I’d been thinking of buying a Bronco Sport for a few months, but was having a tough time making a decision. Mike Rogers was very helpful with looking at the pros and cons of my present transportation situation and what trading for a new vehicle would mean. Mike is very easy to work with, listened to my needs, and put me in the exact vehicle that I was looking for! Billy put together a financing package that that fit my needs, and Doug finished up with the extended warranty, gap insurance, and other “peace of mind” items I was looking for. I called last night 15 minutes before closing and it was really nice to find a car that I was willing to drive 2 hours and purchase. Was told It would not sell considering they were closing in 15 minutes. However, I waited until 9am to call because I had not heard back and the gentleman on the phone told me it was sold. Seems like a backdoor deal which is fine but please don't waste the public's time

I bought my car from them 4 months ago. Sales side is great. But service side, a whole joke. It broke down a week ago, just stopped accelerating. Mind you I just had it checked out by them 2 weeks prior. They didn't find anything. I'm questioning if they even looked or just took my money. I had it towed and confirmed arrival, 7 days ago. As of today my car STILL hasn't even been looked at by the service department. All I'm getting is the run around by upper management. Service department just transfers me to them. They provide rentals but I guess that's just to appease the people who have just bought. Because now there's just magically no rentals, no service man that knows anything about my car, one manager suggested I just come pick it up. IT DOESN'T RUN OR IT WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN TOWED THERE IN THE FIRST PLACE . A joke! My family relies on this car as a daily. Update: After finally finding a service advisor who knew something, he gave me more info than anyone else had. He told me my car was under another service advisor, who of course wasn't there, again. (Please fire that man. He makes you look awful.) I'm bad with names but obviously y'all have my records. I asked if it was possible to switch service advisors and the gentleman on the phone gave me a full update and offered to take on my car and be my service advisor and now progress begins! Finally 🥲 -Mrs. Gray This man deserves 5 stars for his service. So overall I'll raise my rating a star.

We originally purchased a used Ford Edge from Joe Machens Capital City Ford back in Late December. We were so pleased with it that when we lost A different vehicle. Brad Bartlett was our salesman both times and he goes above and beyond to make sure you are happy with your purchase and if there is something you need to figure out he helps out and is always there for questions. They really make you happy to own one of their cars. We ended up with a 2012 Ford Edge that we love. Edit: The 2012 Ford Edge we purchased had a problem with the rear view camera and Joe Machens gave me the run around on the repairs which ended up costing over 3 thousand to my warranty for a 700 dollar repair because one of their service writers kept barking up the charges and telling the service tech incorrect information so I have changed the review accordingly. I am very unhappy with their service department and will never buy from Joe Machens again...Maybe not even go back to Ford if their dealers don't even know how to repair the vehicles they sell.

Cody helped me make my otherwise very complicated idea work. Being in Jefferson City, they are 1,333 miles from my house in Miami. They had a one of a kind car that I really wanted to get. I contacted the dealer through their website, they shortly after contacted me, we discussed it all over text messages and emails and in a couple of days we got the deal done, including financing (thanks to Jacob Thomas for making that work with overnighted documents). Since I was buying the car without seeing it in person, Cody provided me detailed pictures and addressed my potential concerns about the car. Cody even helped me arrange transportation to bring the car directly to my home. A couple of weeks later the car is modified as I want it and already has gone through over 1,000 miles of spirited driving. No issues. Everything is satisfactory. Thanks.

Chris was my salesman and Derek did my finance. They were both great and very easy to deal with. The dealership had a small town feel while being located in a bigger city. We did everything over the phone and was very easy and very little to no hassle. No complaints on the dealership at all. Only complaint I have is the vehicle itself, the 2021 bronco sport. I'm a tall man at 6ft6 and even with sest all the way down and the rear view mirror tilted as far up as it goes, I'm not able to see the whole rear window and can only see the bottom half. This is something Ford will need to address due to safety concerns and fitting everyone that wants one. Thank God this was for my wife, but I do drive it on our trips l, which may create an issue. I rate the dealership top notch and the vehicle about 3 to 4 stars due to rear view mirror issue.

Our sales rep Sam Hayden was fantastic to work with. He was not pressuring or overbearing. He only showed us vehicles we were interested in and was very patient. I can't say enough good things about him. Matt in finance was great as well. He made sure that our warranty and payment plan included everything we wanted. He was very thorough in explaining the information and how we go about utilizing our warranties should we need to in the future.

Chris was hands down the best car buying experience I've ever had. He listened to the general idea of what I wanted, and gave me recommendations based off of that. Chris and Jamie are amazing humans, and did not push me with salesy tactics. Jamie is easily the coolest man his age that I've ever met and he's got a great personality! I walked away yesterday with a 2018 F150 and had no problems with finance whatsoever. 11/10 would recommend everyone to Joe Machens if you're in the market for a vehicle. Get those BR dubs guys!

The service department is going downhill. Dropped my car off two days before a week long vacation. Come back to be told the car hasn’t been looked at and didn’t know where it was. Once they found it, it took about 3 days for them to diagnose and then order a part. That took another week. Now I am a month out and still waiting on them to reimburse my towing bill since it was under warranty. The sales team however is great to work with.

My car got totaled and I immediately called Ben McGrail as I have used him in the past. When I called, I learned that he had been moved to a manager position and not a sales position. I was then paired with Keith Schoolfield and I could not have been more pleased. Keith was knowledgeable on all of the vehicles on the lot and never once pressured me into buying or looking at something I didn’t want to. Hopefully I don’t need to anytime soon, but I will definitely return with Keith and Ben and send people their way!

We had talked to Columbia Ford at Joe Machens and everyone was really rude. I emailed back and forth with a very nice sales rep at Capital City Ford named Christian and it definitely paved the way to our purchase. He was extremely helpful without being super pushy. He pulled up the cars we wanted a head of time making our visit there much shorter. I was very impressed with the service. My last purchase was at Columbia Honda and I was so upset with how I was treated there at my last visit that I wasn't sure I wanted to go to another dealership, but I'm glad I gave them a chance. I would definitely send friends and family there.

I recently purchased a used F-150 from Joe Machens. The sales team was first class and bent over backwards to keep me happy. Once I get the vehicle home and realized there were some minor issues, the team at Joe Machens took care of me on the house. I will be buying all future trucks from this location. My husband and I were very saddened and disappointed with our experience. It started out great, we bought a brand new 2020 Explorer. The moment we got it home we realized there were some paint issues that needed fixed. We called the dealership & we drove it back to Jeff City so they could send it to the body shop to have it fixed. They initially told us it would take a couple of days and almost 3 weeks later we got our vehicle back. They did give us a loaner which was very appreciated. We drive back to Jeff City to pick our Explorer up & immediately we notice a piece of the seal to the sunroof had pulled off, the seal on the back driver door was not installed correctly & there was white paint in several places it shouldn’t have been. There was white paint marks on the black plastic piece that separates the 2 sunroofs, there was white paint on our floor mats, there was white paint on the inside of one of the back doors on the black interior. It appeared that whoever had redone the paint was sloppy & did not take pride in their work as they did not clean up after themselves very well. Also, when we are driving the vehicle we can hear and feel fluid sloshing underneath the vehicle (we assume it is fuel) which should not be happening. When we informed the dealership of the issues, they told us to take it back to the body shop in Columbia to have the repairs done. It is just VERY frustrating that we have been without our vehicle for 3 weeks already to have repairs done and we got it back today and are already having to turn around and get more repairs done and will be without our vehicle again. Not to mention my husband and I are both having to take additional time out of our work week to try and get these issues resolved. Unfortunately it does not make me want to do business with Joe Machens again.

This is the second time in 4 months that I have went to Joe Machens to find a vehicle. This time we went for my husband since the most recent hail storm damaged his. We dealt with Shawn Wagner again! And as I have said before he was was outstanding EVERY step of the way through the entire process! He is never pushy, and goes above and beyond for his customers! Amazing customer service, between getting cars to test drive that we wanted to answering all of our questions clearly and transparent to making a best deal for his customers! He made us feel welcome and comfortable throughout the process, and looked out for our best interests. Great personality, and goes out of his way to make his customers happy from start to finish. We went in to meet with him at 9 am and he met us in the parking lot with a smile ready to go. Glad we went back for car #3 through him! We were very happy with his service and the team at Joe Machens! Highly recommend!!!!!!! He definitely is an asset to have on the Joe Machens team for sure!!!! Mind you this business was very busy as it was the last time we were in there and they do amazing under pressure in there. Everyone is so friendly! The sales side was great but the service side this time was not the best. The Service side was in need of all lot of help and my experience was very disappointing the last two times I visited. Go to this for this and go to this line for that not cool. So the service side is appointment only no problem but for me this was a problem. I called made an appointment got a confirmation then I got a phone call "can't do it today" no problem. Got a phone call So I dropped my vehicle off at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday night in the drop box like I was asked. Did not get a phone call all day then when I call around 1:00 p.m. I got the run around " Ill call you back with the car details" no problem. No call back so I called back around 4:00 p.m. finally got a supervisor "sorry were busy and basically your car has not been touched but it will be first thing Thursday morn" no problem 3 days without a car. No phone call all day until I called again after 1:00 p.m. were just about to pull it in 3 days without a vehicle. I finally get the call more bad news we can fix your issue but it's gonna cost a significant amount. Now keep in mind that I have not had this vehicle over 5 months and the warranty does not cover it. And also for the bad communication and the dealership keeping my vehicle 3 days I received a bunch of sorry's and a $10.00 car wash. Just disappointing.

I recently visited Joe Machens Capital City Ford/Lincoln dealership in Jefferson City in search of my first, new car. The salesmen I worked with were very friendly and never over-bearing. They were always more than happy to answer any questions I had at any time, and returned any of my calls very promptly. They always had a smile on their faces, although I'm sure it was frustrating at times with all of my questions, being new to the car-buying industry. They offered to stay as late as I needed to answer any questions, and to help me find the car that fit all of my needs and wants. After just two days, the salesmen had explained even the tinest of details about the loans, interest rates I qualified for, and had showed me as many cars, in as many locations that I wanted to see. I am proud to say I have signed all the papers and am on my way to owning my brand new ford! I live in Kansas City where there are more than enough places to buy a vehicle. My wife and I have purchased a total of six vehicles from these guys. Bought my Ford Fusion from JMCC. Brad Bartlett was our sales associate. He stayed late so we could complete our first test drive of the car. While it seemed like a whirlwind of an event, I appreciated the no pressure approach. The whole process was a good experience (considering it's not something I usually look forward to doing). I liked how they worked around our schedule, even agreeing to schedule the window tinting. Wouldn't hesitate to return for future purchases.

When purchasing our vehicle, we contacted Randy Wells whom we dealt with before when we purchased our 2017 Ford Escape. We were treated with respect and without pressure. When contacting the service department, Steven Paul,Service Manager,, was very interested in our problem and scheduled an appointment at the earliest date. Joe Machens did an outstanding job on my vehicle repair. They got my vehicle in the day after I called (I called just before closing on a Tuesday and they had it in their shop on Wednesday). The diagnosis required them to order the necessary parts which were delivered the following morning and by mid-morning the same day the parts were delivered the repairs were complete. Absolutely outstanding attention to detail, great communication throughout the process, and repairs were completed as needed. I couldn't be more pleased.

Cody Hodge was an exceptional salesperson who had a great knowledge of the vehicle we were looking to buy. He was both courteous and patient. There was no evidence of pressure tactics that you normally encounter when buying a car. He took all the time necessary to answer all my questions. The entire Joe Machens experience was exceptional including the time spent with the finance manager. I was in the market for a Chrysler 200. I contacted a friend of mine, who in turn contacted his buddy Mike Rogers at Joe Machens Ford. My friend told Mike what I was looking for, Mike was able to get a Chrysler 200 from the Columbia store within a couple of days. He allowed me to keep the car for the weekend to test drive. When I had questions and/or concerns, Mike was very upfront and answered all of my questions. He did a great job staying in contact with me, even after business hours to make sure that I was well informed. I have to say Mike went above a beyond assisting me in the purchase of my new car. I had looked for a used Shelby GT500 Mustang for months before seeing one on Joe Machens Capital City website. I had looked at several before but there was always something wrong with them. So, when I called and talked to Randy Wells and he told me the one they had was "immaculate" I was a little skeptical. I drove almost three-hours from Spring Hill, KS to look at the car and didn't want to be disappointed. Everything Randy told me on the phone was spot on. The car was exactly what he told me. I was really impressed with everybody at the dealership. I'm a car guy, and I've looked at a lot of cars over the years. I've talked to sales people before that were so slimy you wanted to go home and take a shower after dealing with them. Not these guys. Everybody there treated me and my wife very well. No high pressure. They gave us a fair price on the car and a fair price on our trade. This was the best car buying experience that I've ever had at a dealer. These guys were so nice to work with that the next time I'm in the market for a car, I would consider making the trip all the way to Jefferson City again.

Sold us a vehicle that had a broken headrest then wouldn't do anything about it. Also tried to give a 17% interest on a $6000 loan when it was actually 28% according to the creditor and our bank we double checked with. Eventually went with our bank at 5.75% which is what we should've been given to start with based on credit and down payment. We personally will be not going back to them for that reason alone of trying to screw us on the loan. Otherwise the vehicle we purchased was fairly. Priced and in really good condition.

We purchased a truck site unseen from Douglas Keeler at Joe Machens Capital City Ford. Douglas was very responsive and helpful. He provided the information we requested in a timely fashion and was willing to FaceTime with us two times so we could see the vehicle inside and out. He was very honest and upfront about what we were buying and he accurately represented the vehicle we received. We did have a paperwork issue but Douglas and the dealership stood by their word and corrected the issue. They took photos as we requested before loading the vehicle on a transport. Great follow through and followup. Honest and fair. Douglas was top notch and I would recommend working with him if at all possible.

I spent days looking for the best deal on a new car and Machens was the cheapest. They are a massive organization and can sell you a car much cheaper than others. However, they were also great to deal with. They have a very streamlined system on getting you in and out as quickly as possible and the employees were easy to work with, a very different experience from many dealerships in Kansas City. Machens did not have nonsense fees like mandatory "protection plans" that some dealerships have. For example, Cable Dahmer in Kansas City wanted to charge me $800 for nitrogen in the tires and 3m plastic that they put on. A cheap way for them to pocket money. Machens just had the standard $200 admin fee. I've seen in the city where admin fees were as high as $500. Ridiculous. If you want an easy experience, a huge inventory to choose from, and the cheapest price around, go to Machens. For employees, Brent Simmons was my salesman. He is awesome and has been selling my parents cars for years. He is very approachable and easy to talk to. I requested him by name. Bradley Kellerman was quick in finance and got me a great rate. He was very friendly and super fast with the paperwork. Jacob Thomas was the sales manager. I'm sure there is a background story and a reason, but I could hear him getting into arguments with my salesman over the fact that they wrote down the wrong price when they presented the pricing to me. It seemed like something that could have been handled differently and it left me thinking I'm glad I don't work here. I'm not sure if he was under a lot of stress or what. Also, Machens, I would adjust how you are setting up your offices, I could literally hear everything they said about my trade in, how much they would sell it for and so forth...and obviously every time the staff got in an argument. Finally, you need to upgrade Brent's computer. It's still running windows 7 and was too slow to pull up any of the "training" you were supposed to accomplish with me on any of my cars features.

I have a Ford Fusion that I told my son he could use for his vacation. Only it had a passenger side airbag recall. I ended up in a rental car waiting for parts and my son couldn't drive the rental because he has his own insurance and isn't on ours.
