    To Island Realty’s reply: That is not true. Your maintenance department did not fix the toilet within the first call, nor did they replace the part the following day. I am confused as to why I would need to place multiple calls to fix the issue? I was on vacation to enjoy time away and not sit on the phone. I think your response should speak volumes to people as they read these reviews. I used to always recommend Island Realty for vacation rentals on IOP but I no longer will be recommending them. Our Sea Cabin did not have a properly flushing toilet and the place smelled. Reported the toilet issue to maintenance, they advised they did not have the part and would fix it the next day. They came out the following day and relayed they did not have the part and would have to order it. Once we returned home, I left my feedback per the Island Realty follow up email. I received a call from Linda and she relayed that maintenance noted that our toilet was functioning…of course.

    Thank you for taking the time to send us your experience. It is true that the toilet in your condo did have an issue while you were staying with us. Maintenance was able to fix your toilet so that you could use it immediately after your call. Maintenance also ordered a new part and was also able to put the new part on during stay completing the issue with the toilet. Unfortunately, our records do not show that you called our offices at any other time but the first initial call to maintenance during your stay. Island Realty strives for excellent customer service and would like you to know that we have managers on duty 24 hours a day to assist our guests with any issues they have. We always encourage our guests to call and ask to speak to a manager if they feel they are not getting the service they deserve.     The best part was working with Island Realty. They assisted us in finding the house we rented, answered all our questions, and sent reminders and phone number incase of needing further assistance during our stay. All were professional and friendly. The house is a perfect beach house and located three blocks away form the beach which made it a quiet spot to stay. The large fenced-in backyard made it easy to have our dog with us and she loved the couch to nap in.

    Great vacation! The condo was equipped with so many conveniences, even dish soap and a scrub sponge. The view was beautiful from our balcony. I can't wait to stay with them again next year!

    We rented Grand Pavilion 130. Pictures are not up to date on the Island Reality site. MUSTY Smell when entering was a huge clue that we had been deceived by Island Reality. Missing comforters, disrepair of property, torn off baseboards / cabinets, dirty carpet, old beds, mold in and around showers / bathrooms, along with a visit to the ER for an allergic reaction had my family leaving early. When we arrived we immediately asked for another property but no availability. We were stuck. No one stayed for the full week. Attached are pictures.

    We rented a two bedroom condo off the beach. The condo was very clean and wonderfully decorated. There were several historic beach photos, which were really interesting. The beach access at Oceanside was a quick and easy walk. The staff were all helpful and professional. My only complaint is that I wish there was easy to access recycling. Otherwise, it was a lovely trip and I plan to book with them again.

    Our stay at Seascape #516, using Island Realty for the rental, was very eventful but not in the way we would want. We were looking for a nice relaxing vacation with family; unfortunately, we were met with a VERY unpleasant time. We noticed a few things that needed attention upon arrival. The kitchen light bulb was out, a leak in the shower sprayed against the sheetrock wall outside of the shower, & the most annoying, a HIGH pitch, shrill noise coming from the upstairs bath. While there we reported all of these - the light bulb & shower were repaired; however the VERY high pitch shrill noise was not. This intermittent noise woke us up several times during the night. After receiving no action from our complaint we physically drove to Island Realty’s office & let them listen to our video. The receptionist watched & listened to my video & couldn’t believe how loud & shrill the noise was. She asked if she could take my phone & let their maintenance department listen to it. We were certain then that our problem would be fixed, however were we wrong. After trying to sleep with that HIGH pitch shrill noise another night I called for the 3rd or 4th time & complained - again receiving no relief. Finally a female returned my call & gave me some lame excuse that the VERY high pitch shrill noise was coming from the HVAC system. I knew the problem was coming from the plumbing in the upstairs bath & tried to convince her of that but she would not listen. Bottom line I asked the curt lady for them to refund us one nights lodging, she refused. But she did offer to pay for a stay in a motel a short distance from the beach with no kitchen. I politely declined. We’ve used Island Realty before but never will again. We were not treated as valued return customers. I would highly recommend NOT using Island Realty for you vacation needs!

    We stayed at the 1018 Carolina Blvd property with a family of 10. The house was beautiful and we had plenty of room. Very clean and well maintained. Realty staff was great and quick to respond if we had needs. For example, we had internet issues like some other reviews. With a few college students trying to attend online classes it was an issue. But, the rental company had AT&T out the next day. The tech guy swapped out the modem and we were up and running right away with great signal strength. It was a dream vacation. We'll definitely be renting from them again.

    We rented a nice condo in the Ocenside Villas on Isle of Palms. It was a good price considering the location and being spring break. We were within walking distance of everything from the beach (900 feet) to the grocery store (1,060 feet) to the restaurants (1,000 feet), and it was right there when we got off the bridge. We parked our vehicle when we arrived and never moved it until we left. Checking in and out was quick and the staff was friendly, the condo was very nice with everything we needed and cute decorations, and reserving it online was simple. If we ever vacation at Isle of Palms again, we will try to rent the same place again. I couldn't have asked for a better stay.

    I have worked with Island Realty for over ten years (including housing dozens of guests for my wedding) and they are a true 5-star company, from the family-oriented owner to the agents on the phone. Their homes are beautiful and their service is nothing short of spectacular in my experience. The few issues we ran into over the years have always been taken care of promptly and kindly.     We enjoyed our stay at 404 Palm Blvd. in IOP so much! The house was clean and organized. Plenty of towels for 5 guests. And we LOVED having a washer and dryer. The house was spacious and allowed for so many good memories. We didn’t have any issue with Island Reality management. This was the easiest and most stress free vacation because of our beach house. I would definitely work with them again for a beach rental.

    I have been coming for several years now and Island Realty never disappoint in the properties they have available. Very friendly staff and I love the Sea Cabins. Affordable and Memorable! Exceptional get away!

    We have stayed in the Sea Cabins so many times that I've lost count! Love this place! 133C is a lovely cabin with a very comfortable bed, good sized TV in LR and a small one in bedroom. Great view of the ocean! Highly recommend the Sea Cabins!

    Update: the response from the only after this review but their classic response ‘we can’t find your reservation’ haha! Yeah right they know me well! Ask everyone in the office! Nice try! Where do we begin? For a house that cost almost $8k the condition of it was disgraceful. It did not reflect the pictures on the website. In full disclosure we did receive a partial refund. Not even half though. What you don’t see in the pictures is the nightly wake up call from rodents in the walls scratching. . The carpets were disgusting. The outdoors were filthy. The bedspreads not washed. Oven that didn’t close and a partial working stove. Do not rent 10 Beachwood west! I wouldn’t use island realty again unfortunately. After not going anywhere for 2 years we had so much riding on this trip. It was sad. 1985 called they want you to do some repairs and take this house off the market. They won’t let you write an honest review on their website either. So check out Yelp & BBB. I wish I had. I could go on and on but you get the picture!

    I’m giving 5 stars because everything was great with Island Realty. Booking was a breeze on their website. Emails to follow were informative and I only received one to confirm and one closer to the arrival date with arrival information and again for check out. So nice to not be bombarded with useless email. Now. The house! We enjoyed our house. There were 6 girls and we all had our own beds. We had 3503 Cameron on Isle of Palms. It was plenty big enough. Our only small complaint was that the coffee maker in the house was not clean (moldy from being wet in the tank) and the sheets on one of the beds was pretty thin. We called and explained these things and we had a new coffeemaker and sheets that afternoon. So fast and responsive. The house was clean and had what we needed. We only wished there had been a grill on the property to do burgers and dogs. But overall the group agreed we’d rent again from this company and can’t wait to return!!

    I (luckily) found Island Realty by searching google for rental companies on Isle of Palm. My experience from booking to how they handled issues throughout our stay was fantastic! They made everything seamless. We will def look to use them again in the future.

    Allergic to animals or leave something there? Dont use this company!!! House was very nice and fully stocked. Very great location - staff at realty company was nice. However, the house wasnt very clean when we stayed there the first day, and our beds had black dog hair or cat hair. We didnt mind, but if your allergic to dogs or cats - beware. Also, dont leave anything at the house. You WILL NOT get it back. I've called several times and left several messages, and their answer is they have to check on it and nothing was turned in and they will call back. After several follow up calls, they have yet to return the items even after offering to pay for shipping several times.

    Charleston/IOP has been my family's favorite vacation spot for many years. If we aren't staying with family, we either stay at Sea Cabins or Oceanside Villas. We always book through Island Realty. I've never had any issues with the staff. They've always been pleasant, kind, helpful and accommodating. I will give them a 5-star. However, the actual unit we rented is another story. August 2020 makes the second year we stayed in Oceanside Villa 310-C. The pictures of the unit on the website are exactly how the unit is furnished and setup. We chose to rent this unit again because we like staying on the upper level for views of the ocean plus it overlooks Ocean Blvd. Ample bedrooms to accommodate my family too. Basically, the location is perfect! Due to COVID-19, I anticipated changes and extra measures being put in place to adhere to CDC guidelines and such. I made numerous calls to the office inquiring about different measures that would be put in place to ensure the unit was safe for rental, etc. I was reassured that extra measures were in place. I recall specifically asking about bed linens. When I learned that the comforters on the beds only got "sprayed down and not washed", I knew right then that I would be bringing my own bed linens and towels, etc. I was told that the "sheets and towels are cleaned in industrial size washers and dryers. The high heat of the dryers met CDC guidelines". I even ask if the comforters were changed out after each tenant and I was told "just sprayed down". Needless to say I couldn't believe what I was hearing especially under a pandemic! I gave explicit instructions to the staff member that I was on the phone with and ask for a note to be put on my reservation for the beds to be left unmade because I was bringing my own linens. Fast forward to August 15, day of check-in. We arrived at the office around 12:30p and was greeted by a pleasant staff member who tells me the unit is being inspected and it should be ready in about 30 minutes. Well my family decides to go get lunch. We were gone 1.5 hours. When we returned to the office to get our packet, we were told that the unit was ready. Wrong! We go to the unit with arms full only to find the cleaning crew still working on the unit when we opened the door. 1 crew member was on the phone the entire time while cleaning. The other crew member swept trash from inside the condo to out the door onto the carpet in the stairwell. Once we were able to enter, guess what...the beds were made! Not off to a good start. Before we unpacked, I went around the entire condo and wiped down every common area with a Clorox wipe (my choice). I did my own inspection of the unit and the couches were covered in sand. I had to cover with sheets before we could sit on them. The fabric shower curtain in the master bathroom had mold on it. I recall it being like that last year too. I give the unit a 3-star. Overall, the unit is in a prime location, very spacious and kitchen is fully stocked with a brand new refrigerator but I have a few recommendations that could make this unit a 5-star. (1.)Replace fabric shower curtain in master bedroom and shower liner. (2.)Replace both toilet seats with adult size seats. The seats are toddler size. (3.)Provide 1-2 comforter sets to swap out after each tenant. (4.)Paint the unit. Walls are marked up and the walls in the 2nd bedroom are filty. (5.)Require the cleaning crew to pull out furniture to remove any items that may get shooved in between cracks and sweep up sand. For example: I found an empty water bottle and fruit snacks wrapper wedged in between the full size bed and the wall in the 2nd bedroom when I was making the bed. All in all, my family will continue to vacation in Charleston/IOP area. I will use Island Realty again for future rentals. Robin Dickerson
